Hachiman sat in front of Kazuma, the day had passed like a dream, and everything felt so strange, he wanted to believe that what had happened last night was nothing but a bad dream, but he couldn't.
"Here." Kazuma says to him as he hands Hachiman a handful of flashcards.
"Each one of those cards has a list of the skills that I learned along with what those skills can do. So try to keep them safe."
"Before you say anything, the moment that you touch them, those skills are yours, I have a lot more, but I tried to give you the more useful ones." Kazuma says to him.
Hachiman looks at the small stack of cards, he wants to tell Kazuma to put the cards away and that he doesn't want anything to do with that world, but the scar on his leg reminds him that he doesn't have a choice anymore.
"Kazuma, is there a way that I can just forget this ever happened and go back, to before that thing, attacked me?" Hachiman asks him.
'I don't know, I mean look at me." Kazuma says to him before he turns his head and looks at the people walking outside.
"I mean I died and came back the same day, with all of the powers that I gained over there, so I couldn't go back to being just a normal person."
"What I'm trying to say is, maybe you can, but I don't know if you can." Kazuma answers him.
Hachiman takes the pile of cards and pulls one from the top and reads the name of the skill.
"Call to the King of the Undead."
Kazuma laughs softly as the waitress brings a pair of cups filled with coffee and two plates with pancakes.
"Let me explain, I have two kinds of power sources, but they work the same way."
"To make it simple whenever people pray, their prayers have to go somewhere and that's heaven, so yeah the gods are listening."
"The same goes when people curse someone or their situation, the devils are listening."
"Lower Holy energy and lower Hell energy are different from Demon energy and Angel energy because they are not a part of heaven or hell, they are from in between."
"I would call it magic, but the skill that you saw me use last night can't be done with magic." Kazuma says to him, but that just leaves Hachiman with more questions than answers.
"I won't bother you with the details, but I made friends with four high-level Devils and that's why I can use Lower Hell Energy."
"Hachiman looks at Kazuma and he starts to put two and two together.
"So is that why you can summon the king of the Undead?" he asks Kazuma.
'Yep and by the way, that card is a finisher, so only use it if you are going to die, so be nice to her she is a good person." Kazuma says to him as he begins to cut into his pancake with his fork.
Hachiman forces himself to eat, it's not that he isn't hungry but something isn't right with his body it feels as if there's something inside of him that shouldn't be there.
"Eat, you know what let's just call it Holy energy because calling Lower is too long."
'The Holy energy I used last night, is cleaning the poison from that thing, the reason it's taking so long, is that the monster was poisoning, your soul and your body."
"So eat, you need your strength." Kazuma tells him
'I. I can't keep the food, I vomit everything." Hachiman says to Kazuma.
Kazuma stares at him and asks a waitress that was passing by to bring him a glass of water.
The waitress soon comes back and Kazuma immediately puts his finger in it, the water glows with a faint blue light and Kazuma hands the glass to him.
"Don't question it, just drink." Kazuma tells him before he goes back to eating his food.
Hachiman can feel the water burning as he swallows it, it sends shocks of pain through his body and he tries to pull the glass away from him but his body doesn't obey him.
He opens his eyes and finds that he already finished drinking and he is staring at Kazuma who is about to finish his food.
"See I told you not to do it." Kazuma says to him as a waitress looks at him with a worried expression.
'He ate something spicy, he can't handle spicy food." Kazuma says to her, the woman nods and walks away.
"So how are you feeling?" Kazuma asks him.
'Hungry." Hachiman answers Kazuma before he picks up his knife and fork and begins to eat his food.
"Kazuma do you think that there could be people fighting those things?" Hachiman asks Kazuma in between bites.
"Yeah, but let's stay away from them until we know how they do they do things."
"If monsters exist then there are people that hunt them, but sometimes those people are so hell-bent on doing things their way, that they hurt anyone that doesn't agree with them." Kazuma answers him.
Mai smiled as she got on the bus that would take her into the city, it was nice seeing the old town, it hadn't changed, and it was still just as peaceful as she remembered.
She had looked for Kazuma and even gone as far as to visit his parent's house to see if he was home, unfortunately, Kazuma didn't live with them at the moment.
She had heard that he had stopped going to the private school that he use to attend, his parents didn't know why, maybe he was bullied or something must have happened.
But one day he came home and told them that he would be switching schools and would enter one that was in the city, even if that meant restarting high school.
