XCOM: The Long War [We're back in action]

Operation Banished Knife Finale

Your soldiers run into position in anticipation for the final push.

The moment that they do, the lone Sectoid moves into cover...

and aims for Rookie Klein.

Fortunately, it misses.

This favorable turn of events gives Rookie Amin the opportunity to end this mission.

He takes the opportunity.

"I'm happy to report that Operation Banished Knife has been completed," he says into his com with a relieved voice.

The soldiers carry each other and collapse into the Skyranger. They were going back to home base.

The Skyranger sped at supersonic speeds across the South China Sea.

It reached the headquarters in about 30 minutes. The secret entrance to the XCOM hangar opened up. The Skyranger pilot went down the hole that had opened up on the ground and entered XCOM headquarters.

The option to build an Officer Training School is now available.

Many of your rookies can now be promoted to squaddie and be assigned classes.

Who do you want to promote first Commander?

Klein or Owens, I suppose.

[OOC: That said, 6 days required for R&R? Isn't it a bit... too much?]

Ursula has been promoted to Squaddie in the Gunner/Rocketeer class

What will her ability be?
[ ] Suppression (Fire's a special shot that grants reaction fire at a single target. The target also suffers a -30 aim penalty.)
[X] Fire Rocket (Fire a rocket using an equipped rocket launcher.)

[X] Fire Rockets

Ah, Rockets. My go-to for solving problems in regular XCOM.

Chyssalid near a civie? Rocket. Sectopod? Rocket. Etheral in a room? Rocket the wall, then snipe them.

I love suppression because it works on anything. Help your squad out when PUSHING back towards the aliens instead of hunkering down and letting them push towards you.
