[X] Write In: Aid for Recognition:
-[X] As in Aid only, but additionally try negotiating for Royal Guards acceptance of the Abolitionists as a proper faction of this civil war, even if weaker than the others they may seem.
-[X] If the formerly neutral faction joins the fight they could find it beneficial approaching the other factions that might possibly work with them. If the Royal Guard include the Abolitionists when the time comes, it would give the whole faction legitimacy which to use to gather others to their banner.
-[X] The Abolitionists are also Maretonians (those that don't want to just leave to their own homelands when all is set and done), even if influenced by us. The Abolitionists lack elite troops and military experience, while the Royal Guard lack a main battle-line which to attach to. Working together, at least in some limited capacity, would likely prove very beneficial.
--[X] Of course, Gawain Golden-Feather cannot promise that an agreement would be reached between the two factions. As much as their detractors in Maretonia claim it, the Abolitionists are their own people. What we are asking is that the Guard honestly try to come to an agreement of sorts with them, the rest is up to the two Maretonian groups.
--[X]In effect, most of the musings about legitimacy isn't something Gawain is gonna say to Captain General Marecinas. This is one of his internal reasonings on why he's aiming for this goal. What he would be telling Marecinas would be to look for assistance within the Maretonia if even limited support from Griffonia is so unwanted, and that while House White Star is still fighting, they are heavily ravaged economically, most likely afloat only because of our aid to combat the refugee crisis, rife with internal power struggles and otherwise disorganized. Abolitionists lack all of these weaknesses but the refugee problem. And no matter what, the Abolitionists are already fighting in the Civil War: Wouldn't it be better that instead of the situation potentially escalating until a greater involvement from us becomes more and more likely by their reckoning, the war would rather be handled mostly internally?

-[X] Ask what Marecinas knows of Mareia's stance on tha matter of slavery, and try to lead that into the nobles assassinating their sovereign because they saw her slow reforms as concessions and weakness. Make sure to avoid the pitfall of giving the impression as if we are using Mareia's death to further our own position. If we can convince Marecinas that her former queen's actions would have slowly reformed Maretonia until slavery was first de-facto and then de-jure abolished... we might get a genuine ally, instead of one of convenience.
