What happens if first contact is not in America?

Congratulations! Perhaps a fairy civilization exists, and want to meet us. Maybe a portal to another world has opened! Maybe aliens have landed, and wish to meet us! Or maybe, something else.

Problem. It's not in America.

So a massive, life-changing, world shifting event. Something that will change the course of human civilization. And it's not in America.

It's in:

  1. Russia
  2. China
  3. Ireland
  4. India
  5. Africa

So how do they deal with it?

Well shit. The US military better have tight grip on his moves. This is an event that is gonna make the US go apeshit for multiple reasons.

The more hawks might want to force the other nations hand and the religious nuts might want to literally go into 40k mode because their religious worldview just got smashed with a hammer.

Cower in fear when the others decide they don't like the US and use teleporting decapitation strikes to show their displeasure?

I mean, the nature of the aliens/whatever and what they want is actually pretty important in determining how things happen.

The Fair Folk re-emerge in Ireland. Trump starts gibbering that it's a Chinese plot to turn the EU against "America", then launches an invasion. Two days out from Ireland, all the US Navy ship captains simultaneously and inexplicably order their ships to reverse course. They're all relieved of command, and the acting captains order their ships to continue. One day out, the acting captains order their ships to reverse course. Secretary of the Navy Richard Spencer can't be found, but somehow an irate donkey showed up in his office. Similarly, Donald Trump Jr is missing.

Very quickly, people across the US learn that, if you see flowers or mushrooms or, well, anything growing in a circle in the middle of nowhere, you walk around.

A month later, Donald Jr is returned to the White House. He turns into a donkey whenever he lies. He never catches on.

I can't help but imagine the absolute shitfit China would throw if the base of alien contact/diplomacy/etc was Taiwan.

Well the Republic of Ireland is already separate from the UK has been ever since the Anglo-Irish treaty which ended the Irish War of Independence. Northern Ireland is still part of the UK.
 
Ok. Finally. A computer. Now, the question is, what will they do to get access? Will they do things like make requests, exchange prisoners, or bribe them with lifting sanctions and trade?
