We're all Stravags now - [Battletech - MekHQ]

I would like everyone here to pour one out for our Comrade Ranger Karl. He's not dead, but his beloved centurion got taken out by a Wasp and that's not something you recover from.

Ow.

So I'm guessing I made...two passes? One for the Wasp and one for the Rifleman. (Also what was the Rifleman doing? You're an air-defense 'Mech and there's an attack fighter around and you apparently never fired at it? I mean, okay, your sky arcs are shit on this map but still.)

Nope. It was Bidoof, Iof, and Radek who killed it (Bidoof went full anime and teleported behind it). We actually have enough AC/20's now to outfit a lance. :V

Crippled mechs:
[x] Repair then Sell
$$$$$

We need Cbills. A lot more Cbills.

Salvage:
[x] Sell the Vedette, Scrap the Wasp
Creates the most value out of the whole affair. Which, again, we need.

Prisoner:
[x] Recruit
3/5 makes her a really, really good scout pilot actually. Stick her in something with a shitton of jumpjets and high speed and watch her go because that's a damn fine pilot.

Me:
[x]cry many tear

Crippled mechs:
[x] Repair and sell

Extra capital is needed after all

Salvage:
[x] Scrap Wasp, sell Vedette

Prisoner
[x] Don't recruit
[x] write-in

This Drac smells a wee bit fishy to me, maybe I'm biased. But we probably need resources and human resources are more of the like. She might be handy somewhere that isn't powered by a fusion plant (under supervision of course).

Damn, I got cocky, at less I managed to help? >_<

[X] Write-in
Repair then sell, except for the panther that we repair and then hold in reserve or straight up give to RangerKarl. A dispossessed mechwarrior is a useless mechwarrior and we could do with bringing charlie lance back up to full strength.

We need money... formyleg.
Edited with the write-in.

[x] Recruit

I like her.

Btw, I really like story bits that you make for the game, it really flesh out the let's play. n_n

Did I do any damage to the Dracs?

[X] Repair then Sell -having some extra C-Bills for a rainy day is not a poor idea

[X] Sell the Vedette, Scrap the Wasp
[X] Recruit -she looks like she´d make a nice scout and keeping her in something light allows for her quick termination should this be some ploy.

As for who she claims tried to have her killed... hoo boy. Sounds like we´ve stumbled upon something way bigger than I expected upon coming here. Just in case, making plans for withdrawing under fire might be a good idea.

Error: Weep over the mangled ruin of my beloved Warrior. Why did the helo's first fight have to be a city fight. Why.
Crippled mechs: [X] Repair then Sell: Gotta get dat dosh
Salvage: [X] Scrap for parts: never pass up free-shs spare parts.
Prisoner: [X] Recruit: Might be handy inna fight, and frankly, I doubt she'll be keen to go home after that. Plus, hanging around in FedSuns space as a former DCMS is... probably touchy, without a bunch of mercs backing you up.

Personally, I don't know how a rotor can survive a blow from an anti-tank weapon, but Error and his gunner are probably very glad that it can.
I'm just happy that it didn't hit the cockpit and convert both gunner and I into a red smear.

Well... As much as I enjoyed the thrill of the hunt, I'm glad that fight is over. Urban combat is hell, even more so than any other kind, and this really proved it. Out of position, with my lance out of command, I'm glad they still made a good showing for themselves. We might essentially be the trainee lance currently, but as far as I can tell we win on kills (even if that was mostly me). Well done Charlie lance, we'll have a drink on me tonight. I can show off my sick head wound.
That being said...
@Astaroh-M Nice work on the Harasser. Bad luck on the ankle. At least it wasn't yours. Hopefully we'll have you back in the cockpit asap and we can work on your piloting.
@Commander Error glad it wasn't your face. Lets see you not get shot down in our next engagement please.
@RangerKarl What can I say. Lets hope the boss agrees to fund you a new 'mech sometime soon and that you can be a little more careful with it in your next fight.

That is, unless charlie lance is truly going to become the cadre lance.

I like her. She has a sense of honour and I believe if we offer her a gig she'll grab hold with both hands. If we can get her a ride of her own somewhere down the road we'll be well on the way to being a truly company strength force, especially with our additional assets.

Ooh, I like your thinking on the Crippled Mechs - but do you think you should be drinking tonight, with a head wound? I know you're definitely not supposed to after a concussion, but even assuming you didn't get a mild concussion from using your cockpit monitors to play pinball with your head, head wounds always bleed a lot, and drinking alcohol after losing a fair amount of blood isn't the greatest idea, either - and you might not have gotten fully tanked up on blood by the medics, as they always like to just top you up and let you make your own, instead of burning resources they might urgently need tomorrow.

I was honestly under the impression what salvage we had wasn't field-convertible to something battle ready, but if there is something I'm all up for it. Gotta keep killing!

As a bonus, the Panther is no slower than your old Centurion! Bit lighter though. And less armour... and fewer guns... although it's got one big one that will do as much damage as your old AC/10! For a lot more heat... Although no ammo consumption or torso bomb chance! But its only other gun doesn't work at all well with it, considering rangebands...

Although it had a little chest freezer in the cockpit - only thing left in it was this:

As far as crippled enemy mechs go, I'm pretty sure (unless you have MekHQ configured otherwise), it doesn't give any financial advantage to replace destroyed parts before selling them (in fact, I believe you lose money). I would recommend either selling them (after repairing the stuff you can repair without using spare parts) or keeping them around. Except for the Panther, we need a replacement mech for the dispossessed mechwarrior.

The salvage, I'd strip off armor and weapons, then sell the chassis.

In my defence, it's hard to effectively make use of the 9/14 move in a city.
It as hardly your field to use, no, but a sergeant has to be firmly encouraging for the future.

Listen, cockpit pinball is the perfect opening to a night on the lash, and I need to reward the Pvt's somehow. I doubt they'd appreciate tickets to the opera and I can hardly hand them a twenty-four the night after a company sized engagement. Honestly, I've seen smaller fights decide the fate of entire worlds.

Fair point on rewarding them, I just think you should be drinking juice or soft drink or something and acting as Designated Responsible Adult, instead of introducing alcohol to a system low on blood and with possible mild brain trauma (depending on what the medics said). After all, someone needs to be sober enough to keep any of them from mounting up while blotto to 'help reconstruction efforts' and blowing all the goodwill you guys earned today.

Amazingly, only one of my blokes has a working 'mech right now, and that's @DreamerGhost . He's a local boy and unlikely to cause any trouble. @Astaroh-M broke his and @RangerKarl frankly deserves a drink.
And I got two kills. In a Jenner.
:p

:p
And I have the worst piloting skill in the squad. I'm so intact because I (presumably) spent the entire battle moving slowly and carefully and got to fighting after the battle was already over. Repeat until end of battle.

>drac mechs with freezers
>3050
Pick one.
I guess that does have an alternate possible meaning in a Battletech story, doesn't it? But rest assured, I was referring to a small (for its type), sub-100 kilos device intended to keep food frozen, not a one-ton LORGE device intended to cool down a fusion engine and associated energy weapons. And it was installed in the cockpit, not the torso. I should have said 'bar freezer', as that's what I was picturing, but fewer people have experience with those - I've got one less than three metres from me, but I know I've mentioned it to people before and they've been very confused, thinking I was meaning a chest freezer or a bar fridge.

Hang at 4-6 hexes to keep in the short range of the PPC and medium of the SRMs. If they try to get into the minimum range of the PPC, they're in short of the SRMs.

I'm just going for the obligatory TRO 3050 DHS joke. You can't say the Panther has a freezer and not expect joking about the -10K.

Yeah, I know that's the standard tactic, I just... I dunno, I've never really gelled with the Panther as a Mech, despite it being quite a good mech.

Yeah, I got it, was just trying (and failing) to play along.

Well that went suprisingly well.
