Augmentations and Recovery 1: Battle Station Beacon, and A Powerful Augmentation
-[X]Mobile Base Platforms: You know the Spirit of Fire has these mobile base systems for forward operating posts… why not give it a try.
The Station only needed a few shipments from Reach to be a fully fleshed Battlestation capable of launching an invasion on any sort of planet.
You got very happy when that sort of thing came forward. It was your idea.
And it sprouted another idea...
Lots of ideas actually.
Reward: Beacon can now conduct invasions of planets, without requiring an entire support fleet.
You can now build Civilian infrastructure as well.
-[X]Augmentations Facilities: Why have only one ship be a place to create more spartans… why not attempt to make it here as well.
It was…
Well, it was good that it was done. You were afraid that something would go wrong.
But now, you can remain in control.
Reward: You can now create more Augmented Spartans.
-[X]You saw Light… standing over you… and you felt his hand on your skin… "Psionic projection?" He hypothesized. "Groovy."
When you awoke, you felt different.
Heavier, stronger, sharper, faster… even more than you already had with your intellect, training and… well Light could give you.
Your entire body was just that… different. You felt taller, and unwieldy. Something in your mind told you that, yes it was your body, but it was different, impossible to move under your own power.
And also impossibly powerful.
But you saw Light, standing over you… and you felt his hand on your skin.
"Light?" You asked. "Am i dead?" That was the only possibility that you could feel him. For he was dead.
"Dead… I fear not my dear friend." He replied. "I believe that, in your attempts to make the augmentations safer… you have stumbled upon some unexpected side effects. Some that I didn't believe possible with this technology… well until now of course."
You looked up and tried to move. "So… What do you believe happened?" You asked, still struggling to think through the obvious pain from your new body.
"Well, it appears you have Psionic power." He stated as he scratched his chin, and in your unconsciousness, have made me take some sort of physically form… to keep an eye on you, and to keep you safe."
"And everyone else?" You asked.
"I think it would be better for you to rest right now… and wait for the doctor to debrief you." Light replied.
"Does she know about you?" You asked, quietly hoping that she was still in the Dark.
"I'm, I'm afraid I told her everything." Light replied with a small shrug. "It was the only way to stop them from killing you."
Your eyebrow rose. "Why would they kill me?"
Light laughed. "Because they thought I was you."
You found yourself smiling at that phrase. "Really? What gave them that impression?"
Light let out a small laugh. "Because I tried to get to the others, to make sure they had someone by their side… so they wouldn't be afraid… or died alone."
His face became somber. "How many are dead."
For a moment, there was silence. "Who died?"
The Results:
1D100 => 100 (you know what… fuck it, I'm not going to tally up the massive bonuses that are here right now, it's well over 600)
Light nodded. "No one died. But they were changed, however, and for all practical purposes… are no longer, human."
That made you want to sit up… to continue to question… to work… so much needed to be done!
But than you realized what he meant. "But my notes, and your notes… they should not have-"
"Created such a thing?" Light replied as he sat. "We were trying to get them to survive…"
"But at what cost?" You muttered.
"No cost...just opportunity."
Dr. Halsey stepped into the Room, a smile on her face. "I'm glad you are finally awake Gian, there is so much we need to discuss."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It took the Doctor only an hour to explain the situation to you.
"Super powers?" you asked.
"That's the only way I can describe the abnormality that you accidentally created when you updated the augmentation procedures." She replied.
"Are there any clear… patterns?" you asked.
"Besides Kelly having super speed, and is phasing through walls by running, among other… abnormalities, John is classified as a weapon of mass destruction via what appears to be probability manipulation. At such an unconscious level that even he does not know if can control it... Daisy can now turn invisible, Sam can now break titanium with a finger, Caleb is now… stranger than usual, talking about chaos theory and giant hula hoops, Ralph...died during the augmentation… and just got back up like nothing happened, without any side effects ten minutes later. And then there is your own… reincarnation. And that is just the ones that have woken up."
Light gave a nod. "I must say, you are taking this far better than I would have. I would have started dissecting people."
The Doctor gave a nod. "At this point, I'd be more worried about if there was a set pattern between these powers."
"Should we be worried about this?" You asked.
"Not unless someone starts giving off radiation." The doctor replied.
"Doctor your tempting fate!" Light stated.
"Johns awake. I feel safer knowing that he's manipulating fate in his own favor… and by definition, mine." She replied.
Dr. Halsey then stood up. "Rehabilitation will be followed, I do not care if you decide to try and focus on this problem and find it's cause. You are not going anywhere until you are healed."
She then left.
Light shrugged. "My… I can't say she's… well, not taking things seriously."
"You did smell the bourbon right? Mixed with the coffee." you asked.
"I can't smell idiot, I'm just a projection from your own mind." He replied.
That was when you decided it would be better to fall asleep. Things would be simpler in the land of dreams… and it wouldn't be your fault.
Reward: Gain Trait Augmented (Psyonic): Your improvements have created… unexpected side effects. Beyond what was the normal Spartan Augmentations… you… have super powers. Psionic superpowers. (+100 to combat rolls. A whole host of other benefits, including Light being able to come out to help, telepathy, manipulations of objects… and blatant space wizardry)
What do you do when you finally regain mobility:
[]The Purple Passion: So, you went to the Mess hall, with your team.. .when Ralph walked back from an Experiment. "For the record." He stated. "I think I'm awesome!" He had a hole in his head from an anti tank rifle… that was slowly filling in and healing properly.
[]Mind over Matter: So Sam wants to see if you can… well, for lack of a better word, use your mind powers to beat him at a series of strength games.
[]A Speed Problem: Kelly needs help… she's phasing in and out of existence, or at very least in the visible light spectrum... not being able to control her molecules, or her own speed. She's terrified, and without a doubt… in need of help.
[]Luck be a Lad: John wants to run an experiment… finding out if he truly is the luckiest person in existence. Who would always win.
[]A Guess: Kirk was a quiet one. But he always had a knack for knowing if you were all in danger. You want to see if that is true.
[]A… Wait what the-!: Serin has a problem. You think something went horribly wrong with the augmentations. Mostly for one reason… She wishes to… have a relationship. Clearly this requires more study, because half the damn Spartans aren't emotionally stable enough to even consider relationships with each other, even when there is clearly chemistry between them! You blame Mendez for that.
[]Eagle Eyes: Linda cannot miss… anything. You need to test that, quickly.
[]Hero Too: So… the Spartans are a bit on the… confused side. Good thing you have a cure for that confusion… A Spartan Cultural Festival! What is Mendez going to do, try and stop 75 super-powered super soldiers?!... You Blame Light for this.
AN: Enjoy.
