A 17 year old boy wakes up to find out he's in a 16 year old Usopp's body. With knowledge of the future and determination to become a Strawhat and live out his dreams, will he be able to overcome the One Piece world's insanity and become strong enough to survive?
1 - The New Start
Just bringing my quest here from SpaceBattles.

Hello everyone, so this is not only my first quest (SO I MIGHT BE REALLY BAD AND EVEN NEED HELP) this is actually based off a Fanfiction I wrote. I'm using it as a template. Obviously. I'm probably not gonna be able to use it for long but I thought it'll serve a good purpose at the moment.

Bang!
Bang!
Bang!

This is how it all started, all those years ago, my journey began with annoying banging at my door.

Bang!
Bang!
Bang!

"Usopp! Wake up! You promised to tell us stories today!"

"Yea! You better not have lied to us!

"We'll beat you up Usopp! We want our stories!

Those kids, my pride and joy, I used to think they were such snot nosed brats, but I couldn't help but instantly take a liking to them. At that moment though, I hated them more than anybody I've ever met before. I was not a morning person, and the banging and screaming was not a good way to wake me up.

So groggy, I didn't even realise that my name wasn't actually called! What I did know though, was a couple of idiots were ruining my beauty sleep.

"I don't want to buy any cookies! Go away or I swear I'll eat your intestines!" I shouted, sitting up and finally opening my eyes for just a moment to scream at the door. It was then that I could shake my sleepiness off enough to notice how strange the situation was.

Firstly, how did kids end up outside my bedroom? I didn't have any brothers or sisters and certainly no children, I was only 17 after all, still living with my parents.

Secondly, when I sat up I realised something else. The door was straight in front of me...and it wasn't mine. It was wooden, and seemed to almost be falling off the hinges. It looked old and beaten up.

At this point I began looking around in confusion and my blood ran cold at the discovery. Not just the door was different, but everything. My tv, game system, pictures, posters, and mirror were all gone.

Instead what I found was a beaten up dresser with nothing on it, I was laying on a twin sized bed instead of my queen, and my head hurt. Badly. It felt like my brain was trying to jump out of my skull and getting worse by the second.

It was then that pictures started flashing through my mind. Memories of a person, of a life, that I never lived. What really got me, is that as the memories flashed by, I could recognise certain people and places.

A dark skinned man with dreadlocks holding a pistol with a musket on his back: Yasopp.

A beautiful young sickly blond with a smile that could brighten the sun: Kaya

3 young kids, one with green hair, purple hair, and orange hair: Piiman, Ninjin, Tamanegi.

All these and more flew inside of me, and suddenly I knew things, things that the anime and manga never showed. Nothing really important mind you, but things I didn't have knowledge of before nevertheless.

I don't exactly remember how long I was actually sitting there, but it must have been long enough for the kids to forget my very serious threat and barge in. And there they stood, in front of me like it was normal for them to be there; Piiman, Ninjin, and Tamanegi. Or rather Pepper, Carrot, and Onion for the dub watchers.

I could recognise them immediately, not only because of the weird headache, but because they looked no different from when I was watching them on screen. And I mean that in a very literal sense. They didn't look like their anime counterparts, they were their anime counterparts. They actually were anime.

In fact, EVERYTHING looked to be anime drawn. I looked down at my hands and knew that even I was anime drawn.

"Ugh! Usopp you promised us a story if we went to sleep early! Why are you being weird and staring at your hands? Is there something on them?" the green haired Pepper asked with a tilt of his head? With the question, all three surround the small bed to see what I was looking at.

Once they realised nothing was there though they got a little angry.

"Oi! Did you trick us!? There's nothing here!" this time the purple hair Carrot screamed.

[ ] Keep Calm:
"Well this is weird...you guys still want to hear that story?"

[ ] Freak Out:
".....FREAKY ANIME CHILDRENNNNN!!!"

[X ] Get Alone Time To Think:
"Pepper, Carrot, Onion, how about you go in the kitchen and eat huh? I'll tell you a story while we eat breakfast, I just need to get ready for the day."

2 - Getting Your Bearings
"Pepper, Carrot, Onion, how about you go in the kitchen and eat huh? I'll tell you a story while we eat breakfast, I just need to get ready for the day." I said, with the kindest smile I could place. It was then that I heard all three of their stomachs growl, and my smile froze as I saw their faces. They looked to the ground while holding their stomachs, and I could tell they tried to avoid looking me in the eye. That's when what I said caught up to me.

"Usopp...we ate the last of our food last night remember? We don't have anymore."

They were orphans, all three of them. Honestly, thinking back on it, it makes sense. We never saw any of their parents in the manga or anime. If they had them, why would they let their kids hang around a known pirate's child. Not only that, but Usopp was a troublemaker himself, an obvious bad influence. Why had their parent's never stepped in? Because they didn't have any.

Usopp found them in this abandoned building after his mother died. He needed somewhere to go and be alone, when he came upon a run down shack with 3 kinds in it sharing a stale piece of bread. Ever since that day, he's been with them. It's been a year since then, and he considered them his little brothers.

Almost immediately, the same feelings passed on to me. I can't tell you whether it was because I was now in his body and took on some of his feelings or another reason, but one thing was certain, I promised myself I would protect those kids.

I jumped out of bed with gusto, and made sure to keep my smile on full blast.

"Well let's go get some then! Don't worry, today I have a plan, but give me time to get ready okay?"

Within moments, their smiles could almost rival mine. Nodding they left the room talking amongst themselves. My face fell immediately. A million thoughts ran through my head per second.

Why was I there? What happened to me? Did I die? I couldn't actually remember dying though. The last thing I could recall was simply sitting in my room watching One Piece. There was no bright flash or pain, I didn't meet any god. I was just...teleported.

I honestly still couldn't believe it. I was in One Piece. I was going to be the Sniper of the Strawhat Pirates. I was going to battle other pirate crews and the very world itself and win.

...I was going to battle...the world. The Marines, Doflinmingo, hell even the Fishman were terrifying. I couldn't sit there and freak out over my situation, I didn't have the time, especially since I didn't know where I was in the timeline.

Getting out of my bed, I walk to the dresser and open one of the droors. Sitting there in all of its glory was my slingshot. Picking it up, it felt right in my hands, like it belonged. No matter how much I looked around though, I couldn't find any money. That's gonna be a big problem.

How...How do I feel about this?

3 - Future of the Children
Usopp apparently slept with his clothes on, so after I grabbed the slingshot, I quickly headed out into the kitchen to see the kids sitting around a dusty table, on chairs that seemed like they'd break if too much pressure was forced on them.

First things first, we needed food. I couldn't get stronger if I starved to death, and so I told the kids to follow me outside.

"Where are we going?" asked the Onion, he's the one with orange hair.

"To the market-" I answered looking at the sun just rising. "There are people there who are setting up their stands early but not too many people that we'd get caught."

"Get caught doing what?" he asked innocently. I simply smiled and told the truth.

"Stealing."

"""Stealing!""" they stopped walking and screamed. Luckily the shack is far enough away from the general public no one would hear anyway. "Isn't stealing bad?" questioned Carrot.

"Yup it is, but we're going to do it anyway. Didn't I promise to tell you something interesting today, well I might as well share my secret with you."

"""Ohhh, tell us! Tell us!""" they begged with stars in their eyes. Literal stars! Getting used to the whole 'Anime' thing was gonna be hard.

"You see, my dad is a very famous pirate name Yasopp. On the crew, he was the ships Sniper. Before he left, he told me that there was going to be a boy around my age named Luffy who is going to visit this island some day. He said that I'm the Sniper for that crew."

"Wait...are you saying you're a pirate!?' asked Pepper, but before I could answer.

"Aye, and while Pirates do bad things sometimes, it doesn't always mean they are bad people. For example, this situation works perfectly. Aren't you guys hungry? We need money and food to servive and so we have to get them any way possible. But, if you don't want to help than you don't have to. I won't force you and you'll still get some of whatever food I can grab up."

Req: 30 - 10 (Hungry) = 20

Pepper: 1d100 = 21 +20 (Charisma) = 41

SUCCESSFUL

Carrot: 1d100 = 18 + 20 (Charisma) = 38

SUCCESSFUL

Onion: 1d100 = 51 + 20 (Charisma) = 71

It's kind of surprising, but they seemed to not have problems with stealing in the first place. Well, they are kids, I don't think I should put much stock into their moral compass. Hmm...am I a bad influence? Well probably, but I'm also a Pirate so I wasn't a great influence to begin with.

"Hey Usopp?" Onion asks after walking towards our destination some more. "Are you...are you really leaving us to become a Pirate?"

We all stop as realization dawns on the other kids faces. Sad mummers about me leaving begin quietly making their way to my ears and honestly i don't know how to answer this. I have to go, I mean, I just have to right? The Strawhats need me? I don't even think The Going Merry will make it to Water 7 without me constantly making shoddy repairs to the ship. But can I really leave the little ones by themselves while I go to have an adventure? Surely Kaya will still take care of them if I don't change too much but that brings up another question. Do I want to?

Does Usopp Take The Kids On His Adventure Or Leave Them On The Island

[ ] Take The Kids
You can't just leave them. They depend on you.
Will train kids for the future ahead but they will be in danger

[X] Leave The Kids
You can't just take them. You know the type of danger ahead. Should you really bring them into it?
Chance of Negative Reputation if they feel abandoned but they will be safe

4 - Final Decision
I could see tears form in their eyes and I also noticed them trying to hold them back. I think they were trying not to cry in front of me so I wouldn't feel guilty about leaving to join my crew. All that really happened was my guilt multiplying because of how caring the brats were. Carrot refused to look me in the eyes and Onion was already crying silently. Pepper though...I could see his shoulders shake and tremble with his head low. I sigh regretfully and bring them into a group hug

"Yeah...I'm leaving." Pepper stilled in my arms and Carrot just hugged me as tight as he could. Onion's whines broke my heart. "But it'll be okay. It'll be alright. When I was young, about your age, my father left to travel on the great ocean. He couldn't let anything stop him from following his dreams of being a great Pirate. I was too young to take, it would have been dangerous, so he left me with my mom. It's the same here, you understand? I'll find someone to take care of everyone. I can't take you, you're young, too young, but what I can do is wait for you."

"What do you mean?" Onion asked.

"Well, Onion you've always wanted to become an Author right?" with his confirmation I continue."Well what better story of adventure, romance, action, and mystery is there than a life on the sea? Carrot mistaked some rum for juice one day and from then on you've bragged about opening your own bar and creating "The Best Drink in the World" for months now. And what kind of Pirate doesn't need a hearty drink on his ship? Pepper wants to become a carpenter, and a handy man is always useful out in the Blue. I can't take you guys with me, it's just not safe. But just like when I was a kid, I can wait for you all to turn 16, and join me out on the sea."

"Really? We'll see you again?" Carrot said, finally looking up at me. I smile and give him a nod.

"Of course, even if you don't decide to be Pirates, I'll come to visit the island when I can. Now wipe your tears, men must be strong enough to face the challenges of the world with a smile."

Req: 40 + 10 (Children are orphans) = 50

Carrot = 48 + 20(Charisma) = 68
SUCCESSFUL

Pepper = 92 + 20(Charisma) = 112
SUCCESSFUL

Onion = 75 + 20(Charisma) = 95

"""Aye!""" I chuckled on the outside but sighed on the inside.

"But still though, why can't we just go ask Kaya for food like normal?" Onion questioned with a frown. It seemed like he was the smartest of the group.

"Because you all know Kaya is very nice to actually give us food once a week, but we already got our weeks share. We already bother her too much as is and she has to hide it from that bastard Klahadore and Merry. If she gets caught she will get in trouble and we would lose our food source permanently."

After a little bit we finally arrived at the market where just like Usopp's knowledge predicted, were a few vendors trying to set up their stall early.

"Okay guys, here's how this is going to go. You see that idiot over there setting up his fruits and vegetables stand?" I asked, pointing to a rather normal looking individual. They all nodded. "You 3 are going to walk up arguing about something. Just as you are about to pass by him, Pepper I need you to push Carrot into him. Not hard, but just enough so Carrot bumps into our victim. Onion, you will then push Carrot, and start a little scrap on the ground. While his attention is elsewhere, I'll grab our breakfast. When I call your names, immediately stop and follow me. Understood?"

They all nodded with a serious expression.

"Alright, it's showtime, go!" With that, the 3 began walking towards the vendor's direction talking about who's the strongest amongst them. The closer they got to the stand, the louder the argument became while light shoves were already being displayed. Actually, they were pretty good at acting. If I didn't set up the scenario I wouldn't have found anything suspicious.

Just as planned, Carrot was knocked into the man, making him drop a couple of his wares. He started to yell at them about something but they paid him no mind as they began wrestling in the dirt.

Req = 30 + 10 (Troublemaker Trait from Onion) + 10 (Troublemaker Trait from Pepper) + 10 (Troublemaker Trait from Carrot) = 60

1d100 = 93
SUCCESSFUL

I casually walked behind the stand and placed several apples, oranges, bananas, and grapes in my satchel. Of course I couldn't ignore the pouch of Berri on the counter wither. Quickly, I walked away with no one the wiser. My plan however was working much better than I thought it would though, and several people were gathering around.

Not one to waste an opportunity, I didn't stop only at the fruit's stall. I hit up other vendors. Vendors selling trinkets, meat, hell even some selling rum and alcohol since they were in my reach. I eventually had to stop when my satchel couldn't hold more and called my group of great acting rascals. I made sure I was far enough away from my victims stands of course, so I wouldn't draw suspicion.

Just like I told them, they got off the ground and walked towards me, still growling and snarling at each other.

Nice touch kids.

After we were sure that the poor victims couldn't see us, we ran back to our shack, laughing and giggling along the way. I knew that grabbing straight from the strall would be dangerous so I tried grabbing most from their inventory, those still in the bags and not yet placed.

Once in the shack, I emptied the spoils of our victory on the kitchen table and I couldn't help but laugh as I saw all of them salivating.

"Dig in guys, tonight we feast!" I scream, and they all shout in agreement before digging in with abandon. I knew that I should have been rationing out our foodstuffs but tomorrow was the day we were supposed to meet Kaya for our food anyway. And just for now, for my first day in this world, I wanted to give them a taste of freedom.

This is good. This is nice. But the question is, was it enough? Honestly, we could keep this going. Kaya gives us food weekly, but sometimes it doesn't last. We could always just do what we did today and steal a little. How do I feel about that? Well, not horrible I suppose. I could always get a job if I really wanted to stop but I don't know when Luffy and the gang will pop up and I kind of want all my free time training. Not only that, those bastards in that village won't likely hire men to do much than a few odd jobs. If I actually want stable income I would have to ask Kaya to hire me as another butler or something, and I already ask her to do so much. What do I do?

Honestly, it's kind of plain and simple isn't it? Despite our money problems, I have to think about the future. And while yes, money would help a lot, surviving might just be a little bit better. If I don't become as strong as I can be before the Strawhats get here, then there's a good chance I won't stay alive long enough to use whatever money I come by. I'll just have to hope that Kaya can pull through for us. Right now, the important thing is to focus on becoming someone that's actually useful.

Before I can really improve anything, I need to know what I can actually do. Yeah, from the memories handed down to me, I can tell Usopp was pretty good with this slingshot, but will I be? Will his skills be handed down to me, and if not, what do I do? Will I try to focus on something else? Maybe become a barehanded fighter or maybe even a swordsman. Would that work?

I quietly sigh at my own thoughts. Of course that wouldn't work. The Strawhats already have a swordsman in Zoro and our very own Captain scraps with his hands only. I leave our rundown shack for a while, letting the kids enjoy themselves while I figure out what the hell I can actually do.

Apparently, I can do quite a bit, I just can't do many (Read: Any) of them well. Like any anime protagonist, I've named my skills. Things like Quick Shot, Trick Shot, and Sharingan. That last one really surprised me actually. No, I don't suddenly develop a cursed red eye with fictional powers, but it's...fucking jarring. It doesn't work all the time, but if I really focus my all into observing something, I can sometimes predict how it will move. It's not like the world slows down around me or anything, I can just...do it. It's truly amazing how adaptable the human mind really is, because I got used to the, "Everything is anime" thing real quick. Well, until I started to focus that is. Then it got weird again. Now that I'm kind of used to everything though, this is so cool. Battles, friendship, heroism, here I come!!!

....But Goda Damnit do I need some more pellets! Going around and picking them all up each shot is annoying!

Before I knew it, a week flew by. An entire...week….when the hell are the Crew going to get here?!

6 - 1st Week Part 1
So! First things first, I need to buy some supplies. There's...so much broken shit I need to fix. The table, the chairs, my bed is on the damn floor, my slingshot, the very shack itself! Seriously, that thing is a fire hazard, how the hell haven't we all died from the roof falling in on us?! So here I am, walking through the very market I pulled off my first heist from, like normal. I don't know what it is about stealing things, but it always feels the best when it's almost right in front of the victim.

Shit….shit, I really want to take something...does this make me a bad person? I can't even use Piracy as an excuse, I was stealing shit back in my world too. But, c'mon, it's not my fault. It's like my body see's something it doesn't even want...but it's just so vulnerable and my body starts to shake and it's the only thing I can think of. Luckily I've gotten my fix just yesterday, so the pull isn't strong, but I can still feel it. I can always feel it…

Req: 10 - 11(Wisdom(Stealing is fine, doing it wide in the open to get your fix isn't very Wise though is it?)) =

Focus son! You got stuff to do today. I finally made it to this guy who's selling a bunch of supplies. Wooden planks, nails, screwdrivers, and even some metals scrap. Going up to him, I could already tell this guy was going to fuck me over. Look at this guy man! He looks like a Disney supervillain with a twirly mustache and a top hat!

So I get to him, and the moment he sees me, he snarls. He snarls! Like a fat bulldog. Now I'm a good guy, I need this dude to sell his wares, so I push the mild annoyance down and try to start up a nice, friendly conversation.

"Fuck you looking at my guy? You gonna sell me some of your crap so I can be on my way or are you gonna keep admiring my physique?" I say in a slightly annoyed manner. His look, it just pissed me off. I couldn't help it. I just couldn't. I almost couldn't stop myself from laughing at his dumb face as his jaw drops to the floor.

"H-how dare you!? What do you want, we both know you don't have any money. If you did, you wouldn't be living in that pile of wood stacked up to look like a house. Why are you even here, you ruffian?"

"I happen to come by so Berri, so are you gonna sell me some supplies, are bitch at me more? What kind of businessman are you? You're really gonna turn down money because whatever damn bias you have?"

"And where did you so happen to come by actual money? You finally cracked and became a beggar have you? It's about time, maybe if you got on your knees and cleaned my shoes, I would take a slight ponder on giving you a discount."

"Listen you little shit! I'm glad you're so fucking generious, because I will be getting a discount! And it better be a fucking good one, or I will take every fucking thing in this shop. Do you...understand...my friend?"

Heading to the Library after I dropped off the supplies, I got some...weird looks. Like I was walking, and people parted the street for me like the Red Sea. Some people even yelled in fear. These people really think I'm a thug, this is ridiculous, that bastard deserved it. The librarian almost peed herself, I swear.

I let go of his collar, dropping the little shit into the dirt. I hear a bunch of gasps and slight whispers behind me, which causes me to turn around to see that I've apparently gathered an audience in my anger. Turning back to the merchant, he's still on the ground, crawling back in fear, shaking from fright. I can't help the sigh that comes out on its own and nod.

The deal is amazing on it's own. I'm getting 50 Berri worth of supplies for free, but despite that, is that enough? Has this piece of shit learned his lesson? And even if he didn't, I already threatened him...what if I can push for more? 100 Berri for 200 Bundles sounds even better. I shouldn't be Greedy, I got what I wanted and more...but-

Well this just won't do at all. Looking at her, she's kind of cute, cute and scared out of her mind. And what's really puzzling about all of this, she's terrified of me. I threaten one asshole merchant and all of a sudden I turn from Village Annoying Liar to Village Thug? How does she even know about it so quickly, it literally happened 30 minutes ago!

Putting on my most charming smile and trying to calm her nerves, I give off a light hearted chuckle and lean on the counter towards her. She quickly backs away of course, but this just makes me laugh more.

So! I originally had a spoiler here with the rolls. But for some fucking reason, the section didn't save, and I don't want to reroll for a potentially better or worse result. The next part has already been written, and you it was a Good Success.

My humour at the situation seemed to calm down, with the cute but added side effect of a cute blush present. I make sure to keep the smile as friendly as possible and hold out my hand in front of her, prompting her to shake it. She stares at it for a bit before I raise an eyebrow at her which causes her to take my hand.

"Hello, I'm Usopp, though you've seemed to have heard of me already. Don't worry, I'm not a scary guy most of the time, I assure you I'm quite friendly. May I have the pleasure of knowing your name also?" I ask suavely. Or at least, I hope so, I really don't want to make a fool of myself in front of such a pretty girl. This time she doesn't hesitate as much.

"Anne...Marry-Anne, though my friends mostly call me just Anne anyway. Maybe I should have stuck with just Anne in the first place. Tacking on the Marry at the beginning probably wasn't very necessary. I'm sorry, I know you probably don't care what my name actually is, most people just ask to be polite I guess. Probably. Maybe. My gosh, I've really been wasting your time, I'm so sor-"

"So it's Marry-Anne huh?" I interrupt her. She nods slightly, cheeks becoming an ever deeper shade of red. Almost to the point where it matches her fiery long hair. "Well it's nice to meet you Marry-Anne. I know you might have heard some unsavory things about me, and they're probably true to be fair, but I promise I'm just here to check out some books. Meeting someone so lovely was simply a bonus."

I finally let go of her hand as I watched her give me a weird look. Like she was observing me but completely confused about what she was seeing. It was adorable to be honest. Her beautiful lime green eyes and fair skin didn't help my heart calm down from beating out of its chest much either.

"You're not what I expected…" she comments softly. I smirk in response and begin walking away to find what I'm looking for. Giving her a backwards glance while walking, I shortly wave goodbye and say some parting words.

"No One Ever Expects Me~"

So, funnily enough, I find myself sitting on a branch around 20ft in the air to talk to Kaya. The funny thing is that I'm in a tree in the first place. In the manga of One Piece, Kaya's window is actually on the first floor, so Usopp doesn't actually need to climb anything. It brings up all sorts of questions, like, am I specifically in the anime instead of the manga? And if so, will even non-canonical events happen?

Knocking on her window, it doesn't take long for the lady of the hour to arrive with a smile on her face. She seems so happy, so full of life, that it's hard to believe she's currently being poisoned by one of the two people she trusts the most. Someone who practically raised her. It's sad, but I can't do anything about it now.

"Hiya Kaya, it is I, your magnificent Warrior and Protector, Usopp!" I boisterously state. A cute giggle almost takes my breath away with how pure and innocent it was. I fail to hold back the wide grin that travels across my face. I could be doing a million other different things right now. Training, spending time with the brats, fixing up the shack or even my slingshot. But...as she looks at me with her beautiful golden hair flowing in the breeze and laughter that almost sounds like bells, I can't help but feel like there's nothing more important I could be doing.

"How are you Usopp?" she asks, leaning against her windowsill. I lean a little forward as well. I do a quick look around to make sure both butlers, killer or not, aren;t near before we head into the deep in of conversation. With safety assured, I don't hold back.

"Things have been sooo crazy Kaya! Last week, I had a sort of revelation, it's like I'm a completely different Usopp from the last time you've seen me. No, I am different, and things will be better!" I exclaim. She does a cute head tilt.

"Is that so? Will you still come and tell me stories?" she asks with a hopeful tone. I chuckle a bit and give a nod. While I'm still here on the island, I doubt she has anything to worry about. I can't imagine never seeing her again after this moment.

"Of course I will, a courageous Warrior must protect the beautiful damsels in distress. No matter what, I will never shirk off my duty, I swear this on my honour! So please don't worry my lady, you have nothing to worry about." I say, getting another giggle.

"Protect me from what?" she asks with a single eyebrow raised. From Marines, from Pirates, from Kuro, and from The World if I have too. No one will hurt you if I have any say in it. So don't worry.

"From loneliness!"

"...Thank you Usopp...thank you so much." she quietly whispers. "Maybe you can save me from boredom too? I do miss your stories and I feel like I haven't heard one in ages. My Warrior, will you protect me?"

"But of course!" I say with a grin.

Well, I didn't know what to tell her really, so I decided on The Amazing Adventures of Jack Sparrow. Only the first movie, I didn't have that much time to spend here, but apparently she really loved it. So much, that she thought I should turn it into a book. She said the Merry knew some people that get the book out there and next time I come to visit, we'll talk more about it. Before I jumped off the tree though, she gave me some parting words.

"Hey Usopp...you haven't changed at all. How strong you are, fast you are, smart you are….none of that matters. Those things aren't you. Your kindness is what defines you, and from what I can see, you're the very same as when I first met you. And I don't think that could ever change." she ends with a giggle before shutting her window.

So, I seem to have garnered a negative reputation with the villagers. I have no clue how that happened, but that's not important, the point is that it's true. I kind of don't want these people to hate me though, so I thought that maybe if I went around with a smile that would help. And if there are any people that need help, I can do so to get some bonus points.

It was bit of a struggle at first, people just didn't trust me to do anything without thinking it was some type of trick or way for me to steal from them. But I kept at it through out the entire day and eventually people realized I really did just want to help. I think they even stopped seeing me as a thug again, though I'm pretty sure I'm just back to being the annoying brat instead of the dangerous annoying brat...so not much of an upgrade really. At least they're not scared of me anymore.

There were even some that thought I was genuinely trying to be a better person, and so gave me words of encouragement . These people really are too forgiving and nice. It hasn't even been a week since the incident, and now they're just back to acting like it never happened. Maybe they didn't care that much in the first place.

Just like that, another week passes, and still no sight of my crew. How early am I in the story? This is just ridiculous! Regardless, I can't be all that angry about extra training time, so it's not that bad. Still though, I expected to be gone by now. Last weeks progress was massive, well, at least I think so, it was pretty fun too. Yeah, it was hard work, but when I can actually feel myself getting better, it all becomes worth it.

Besides preparing for the future, I feel like I've gotten much closer to Kaya than the original Usopp did at this point. I don't know why, but I think she likes and trust me a lot more now. All I did was tell her a story, but the OG me did that all the time anyway. We hung out a bit after that story, but mostly to give her more details the Pirate Jack Sparrow is based in, not much else. Ugh, figuring girls out is always such a headache.

Point is, if I can get her to trust me enough when everything goes down, maybe she'll even believe me when I tell her about Kuro. Maybe...maybe I could even tell her earlier, before my crew even gets here, to stop her poisoning. The amount of trust she has in me must be even more than her trust in Kuro if that plan has any chances of succeeding.

Next time I visit, I'll also be talking to Merry about maybe publishing "My" story. If everything works out, I won't have to worry about money so much, not that I worry that much about it now to be honest, but still! This could be a great opportunity to earn some legitimate money without beating up people or stealing from them!

There's also that girl I met at the Library, Marry-Anne. She was super cute, in a shy timid sort of way. Absolutely adorable, I wonder if I'll see her again if I head to the library. Hopefully, I'll day without cuteness at least once a month. It's a real disease, I'm telling you! I need it!

Strangely enough, out of everyone I know in this world, the person I spent time with the most in Merry. From Usopp's memories, I found out my relationship with the man has always been strange. Apparently, he really didn't like my Father going out to become a Pirate. The fact that I haven't been subtle in my goal of becoming one as well didn't help.

With such "despicable" goals and dirty blood, he thought I was a bad influence on Kaya. Which, admittedly, might be true, didn't piss me off any less when he tried to stop us from hanging out though. I can't get too mad about it however, he really is just trying to do what he thinks is best for her.

It kind of rubs me the wrong way though, we both want Kaya to be happy and safe, we shouldn't be enemies. So, one day late at night, I went to the manor and knocked on the door. I didn't realize until last second that Killer Kuro could open the door instead of Butler Merry, but before I could run away, it was too late and the door opened up.

Good news, it actually was the innocent butler instead of the killing Ex-Pirate. Bad news, he did not look happy to see me at all. In fact, he almost seemed downright hostile the moment he opened the door.

"What do you want ruffian?! Is it not bad enough that I have to be on the lookout for you during the day to stop you from corrupting the Young Miss? Now you're daring enough to directly come to the front door in the middle of the night?" Honestly kind of shocked at the hostility, I didn't know how to respond. I mean, I get he doesn't exactly like me, but am I sure he doesn't just outright hate me?

Eventually he raises an eyebrow at my best expression of a fish in need of water. Which made me realize I'd been staring blankly at him for a good minute now. I mean, I didn't really have a plan coming here, it just didn't feel right being enemies with him. This is the guy that's going to give my crew our first ship! The very same ship that's going to save us, rescue us, and take us to the Grand Line.

"I actually didn't come here for Kaya." I say hesitantly. He looks at me stumped for a second before shaking his head a little and narrowing his eyes in suspicion. He obviously doesn't trust me. Which is fair I suppose, I am a well known liar around these parts.

"Then why are you here? You can't honestly expect me to believe that you just decided to take a stroll and randomly knocked for no reason. What are you planning? What do you want Usopp and why couldn't it wait until a more appropriate time?"

"You...Kinda? Look, I'm not here to start any trouble, honest. I just figured something out and the sooner we talked about it, the better."

"And that would be?"

"We shouldn't be against each other? It'll only hurt Kaya more."

"What...do not deign to know what's in the best interest of Miss Kaya. You can barely take care of yourself and your little band of misfits, yet alone someone of her standing. Leave matters such as this to those who actually know what they're doing. If that is all, please leave!" He tries to slam the door in my face but I place a foot in the doorway to stop it.

By Goda that hurt more than it should!!

"Listen old man! You can't honestly think that things can continue the way they are! Kaya spends all day, everyday, alone up in her bedroom barely able to walk. She's beginning to look weaker each day, I know you're just as concerned as I am, if not more."

"Yes, of course I am! But what can you do that we haven't tried?! You think I don't know things must change?! But we've tried everything already and nothing has worked! If you have a magical solution in that satchel of yours, then oh please take the reins!"

"I'm not saying that you coot! What I am saying is that if there's nothing we can do about her illness for now, we can at least make sure she's happy. We can provide her comfort and bonds that are important to her. And because she can't just get up and visit the village, her options are kind of sparse."

...He gives my poor foot some release by fully opening the door again, which causes me to give a quite audible sigh of release. That shit really hurt, I need to invest in some steel toe shoes or something because that was horrible….maybe I should work on my pain tolerance in the future.

"So...what are you saying? That you are our only choice? I'm not sure the risk of you being a bad influence on her is worth it."

"Well aren't I? And is her happiness worth less than anything you can think of?"

".....Fine".

Well… it looks like we've come to an understanding. That went better than I thought.

So, weirdly, I'm sneaking around with Merry. Well I don't know if sneaking is exactly the right word, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't want to be seen associating with me. Which is rude but understandable, because of that whenever we need to really talk about something we would go somewhere private. Oddly enough...it's the hill where everything will go down. Where the Strawhats will face off against the Black Cat Pirates.

We've had a couple meetings at this point, all of them nothing more than updates about Kaya's health, although I already know she's not going to get better. Not until my crew gets here. Or maybe...I can get strong enough to face him myself. Maybe I don't have to sit and wait while Kaya gets poisoned little by little everyday.

I shake my head to clear my thoughts. That type of thinking won't help right now. Even if I wanted to fuck up Canon that much, not even speaking of the consequences, I'm simply not strong enough. And honestly, I don't know if I'll even be by the time the story catches up. Regardless, that's not what I'm here for.

"Still no positive progress?" I ask with hope. I know the result before he even shakes his head but I just can't help but ask each time. The sigh of regret comes out on its own. It's times like this when I realize the most how weak I truly am.

"At this rate..I'm afraid the Young Miss may not have much time left. Despite the medication and rest, she seems to get just a little bit worse each day." Mary's hands clench tighter with each word. I can tell that sentence hurt to speak. Even if he knows beforehand, there's something about speaking it out-loud that makes everything feel so much more real.

"Then we have no choice, we can only pray, but until she does get better we just have to be there for her. The last time I snuck to see her-" a visible eye twitch from the resident butler. "I told her a new story I made. She suggested that I make it into a book, but it's actually a series. I was thinking since I will be able to provide more details on paper than orally she'd like it if I wrote the series while we hung out. I can even give her sneak peaks every now and then."

Annoyingly, there was silence between us for a couple of seconds before a look of disbelief crossed his features. This bastard doesn't believe that I could write something of value, you can see it on his so punch-able face.

"Well...Miss Kaya is very polite, so I have no doubt she said she liked it but-"

"Oi! The content of the novel doesn't matter, only that it would make her happy to read it. You're clearly not my targeted demographic anyway. You'll see, when I publish it, it'll be a hit! Then we'll see who has the last laugh."

".....Pffft~ You? Publish a book? Hahahaha~"

"....."

"....Oh….You're serious?"

Shack

This place...is just so fucked up. The doors feel like they'll fall off their hinges each time I open one. I'm scared to sit on any chairs or furniture because it wobbles so much I wonder if it's made out of wood or jello. Not to mention I'm genuinely worried if a storm comes, besides the rain that will absolutely drench us without question, that the roof will literally cave in. So...let's see if I'm as good at fixing things as I think I am.

Req: 100 - 25 (HandyMan Lvl 5) = 75

93- 75 = 18

I'm. Fucking. Awesome!!! A single week. One. Single. Week. The shack looks halfway livable now! Nothing wobbles, nothing leaks, and nothing is a fire hazard anymore. This is good, if I'm going to be leaving the brats, I refuse to leave them living like ally rats. I know Kaya will take care of them but she can only do so much. Maybe they'll even move in with her but this place...this place is ours. It's home.

Standing outside of the shack, that's starting to look like a real house with each passing second, I can't help but fold my arms and admire my work. I did my best on it. Without warning I'm tackled from behind. Not just once. Not even just twice. But three different times, one after another, until I have three little idiots hanging off of me. I chuckled and asked what they wanted but...they didn't say anything. Seconds passed that seemed to feel like minutes with each new one, making me start to worry. That is, before they finally said something, almost all at once.

"""Thank You...""""

And before I knew it, they all ran into the newly refurbished shack. I just stood there, not being able to move. It's funny, it hasn't been long since I've been transported to this world. This world filled with violence, danger, slavery, and discrimination. I should be doing a million other things right now. Focusing on preparing for this world. Yet, in the short time I've been here, these kids really wormed their way into my heart. They're not real, this place isn't real, this shack I spent an entire week fixing up isn't even real but I can't help but feel like...Something like this is important. More important than training. Or even fighting random thugs for experience.

.....I'm going to miss them. So much...

The last day of the week I decided to write down absolutely everything I knew about the first movie. From how the characters looked, their mannerisms, and of course the plot. It turns out, I remember quite a bit. As in, I remember all of it. Every word spoken, every joke delivered, and every scene made. Now, don't get me wrong, Pirates of the Caribbean was one of my favorite series. I just couldn't shake my fascination with Pirates, but I know this isn't right.

My memories are not
this good. At first I thought I just had perfect recall with everything from my past life, and I just haven't noticed until now because there wasn't anything I wanted to focus on. But this theory quickly went down the drain as I tried to bring up other memories. While I could, there were those where the details were smudged. Exactly like something that happened a long time ago that I can still remember but not well. Like a normal memory.

So imagine my surprise when I think of the first movie of the series and I could play that shit in my mind like film night. Why is this special? Will the other movies be the same way in my mind? Or maybe the person or thing that sent me here wanted me to remember this specific thing for some reason?

Regardless, it's not something I could find out anytime soon, so I focused on something else. I couldn't just write down everything I saw in my mind and give it out. I had to adapt it to this world so people would actually be able to read it without feeling confused every couple of seconds. This was more challenging than my previous task, but successful nonetheless. I wouldn't call it perfect, but it damn near is, and it would certainly not raise any eyebrows unless someone analyzed every detail.

With all the details down and the adaptations I would have to make to fit it in the World of One Piece, I decided to jot down some notes of how I could possibly put my own spin on the story. Not make it better exactly, but more, make it mine. When it was all said and done, I put down the notebook I was using to write in and just looked at it. It wasn't mine, not really. More fanfiction than original story, but regardless I couldn't help the feeling of Pride that swarmed my chest. I can't wait to show it to the kids...and Kaya.

Well there goes another week. At this point, I'm actually worried. How far before the start of the series am I? Next week will be a full month, and while I'm not in any rush to leave, it would still be nice to know what time I'm actually leaving.

Regardless, it's not something I can really do about, and the week wasn't terrible. I spent the entire thing with Kaya. At the beginning of the new week, I walked casually to the young lady's manor, and knocked on the door. Full of confidence and a smile a mile wide, my heart almost crashed to the floor when instead of Merry opening up, it was the killer butler.

Thank Goda that I was able to keep my face from falling. Apparently Merry already told Khaldore about our deal, and while he didn't approve (Evident from the near snarl when he saw me) I was let in without trouble.

The look on her face when instead of knocking on the window, I bust into her room with a laugh was hilarious. I would have tapped on the door but I couldn't really expect her to get up in her weakened state. Of course she freaked out at first and tried to hide me but once I told her me and Merry talked it out I could see tears threaten to spill.

She doesn't have many in her life anymore that she can call family or friends, and the fact that me and her caretakers were always at odds clearly upset her. Us finally getting along...well...it must have really made her happy.

With a cocky grin, I began working on my book with her input every once in a while. Of course, only when I could get away with it, I still want most of it to be a surprise for when she reads the finished product.

It felt short, but I couldn't help but feel that my bond with Kaya has gotten stronger over the week. And while I could have used this extra time training or something, I don't feel like I wasted a single second. With each smile, I felt more validated. This is important.

She is important.

Yeah there was no real plan that actually focused on continuing to write the story so I'll just focus on the grind instead.

Plan from other site

[X]Plan: Angel
[x] Bullseye: is simple headshot and another one bites the dust

[x] Pain resistance: you want that to be somewhat High because of the amount of damage they all go through.

[x] Kaya: I like her and we could always improve the relationship.

[x] Merry: is a little bit more complicated in the series is shown that he does know how to design ships usually meant for luxury. Now I'm not saying that's a bad thing they have an actual shower and bath as well as other things to make it more of a home then simply a ship. But this really does show that he has knowledge on ship craft so you might just see how much knowledge he has into this after all you are going to be the resident Craftsman on the ship for sometime. Plus on a side note you have no idea how this knowledge affect other things for you.

[x] Sell Stolen Items: you need to get rid of them and get some money.

[x] Fight Local Thugs: To see where you are as many people have stated right now you have zero chance beating the evil Butler so you might as well go out and get some real fighting experience. It also helps you to level up your skills that you use in the fight not as much as you would just straight out said skill out but it lets you level a lot more than just one at a time. Plus there's usually loot

Quests: (Write In) [x] Figure out what how much time we have before the rest of the crew shows up: Because this would help plan things out tremendously and all we really need to do is check the papers because we all know the very first thing luffy does and his path to us so we just got to figure out where he is on that. Best case scenario he hasn't begun yet and we have some time to get ready. Worst case scenario he has begun his adventure with the defeat of Alvida and we have less time than we thought.

[x] Figure out what poison Klahadore is using and get an antidote for it: Now I don't want to be rude but this is a guy who became a pirate to gain power then when it became too difficult screw it and let one of his own crew take the fall for him so he could run way he then killed her parents with the same poison he's doing to her he then killed his own crewmates in order to have a chance to kill one of his enemies trying to get this guy to have a Redemption Arc while feasible would eat up a lot of time And until we figure out how much time we have that might not be a great idea.
