They also have 5+ armor, regeneration, MR (2), Fear and Stupidity.
Their glaring weakness is Ld 4, which coupled with Stupidity means they cannot really function without more brainy greenskins telling them what to do.
Edit: how do I make columns smaller? I don't need 5 centimeters for one letter.
Edit2: I forgot Vomit, which is excellent against dwarves - instead of their normal 3 attacks they do one, but it hits automatically and ignores armor.

I took the liberty of putting a bullet in the Goblin commander's skull while wearing the illusion of being a Skaven--and the warpstone the Goblin had for teeth blew up when I shot him and wounded the Skaven he was negotating with as an added bonus--but things were a bit too hot to stay put and confirm more than the start of infighting--all I can tell you is that the Goblins there are significantly faster and more determined than they probably should be, and it's something that should be taken into account. Presumably, the nice thing about this is that the more often Belegar slap-chops an Ork Warboss into salsa, the more BoneyM has to come up with an in-universe reason Belegar can do that. It's like the speedy goblins; their high rolls get written into the lore of their character.
The attainability of this goal is very doubtful. This kind of knowledge is in the purviev of runepriests, and we all know how secretive they are (secretive enough to take their knowledge to grave because they don't consider anyone 'worthy' enough to share it).
We know that runes are runepriest exclusive, and we're never getting them. However, the general dwarven perspective on the Winds of Magicand nature of the Aethyr is perhaps not so exclusive. Dwarves prize their craft, ad the their craft secrets. I'm not sure pure theoretical description of the nature of the world is quite so restricted.
Particularly given the impression Mathilde is making. If the dwarves come to think that human wizards have potential, they're not going to want to abandon them to purely elvish teaching. That would just be cruel - and the dwarves have seen the Empire as their protégés for millennia, ever since they shared the secrets of iron and steel and how to build in stone with them.
Also, Mathilde is shaping up to be a legendary dwarven hero, at this rate. I could easily see her as being the first ever court wizard to a dwarven king.

I'd say getting knowledge of the dwarf language is perfectly possible. They taught it to Sigmar, and his priests still learn it. So if we have enough rep, there's precedent to getting taught. Probably won't even cost that much favor, especially if we do end up as advisor. Otherwise all the meetings would have to be in manling tongue, and nobody wants that.
I don't know if non-dwarfs can make runes. There's a quest where some humans can, but I have no idea how canon that is. That said, I don't see any way for it to happen on the up and up, short of an ancestor god giving permission.
An unrelated thought: Chaos Dwarfs are spell casters. Now, is learning magic from chaos dwarfs a terrible, terrible idea? Yes. But if we ever go full Nagash, looting one of their places for knowledge would be an option.
I wonder, how would a Mathilde vs Black Ork Warboss go?
Code:
Black Orc Warboss
M WS BS S T W I A Ld
4 7 3 5 5 3 4 4 9
Armed To Da Teef
Choppa (+1S first round)
Heavy Armour (5+)
Code:
Mathilde
M WS BS S T W I A Ld
4 4 4 4 5 3 4 2 8
Aethyric Armor (4+)
Greatsword (+2S, -2I)
Shadowsteed (pseudo 4+ Ward save, triggers before armor save, if it succeeds twice in a round the Shadowsteed vanishes)
The Boss's armor is reduced to nothing due Mathilde's effective S6 (+3 armor), Mathilde's armor is reduced to nothing on first round and 6+ on following ones.
Orc hits first, but first has to pass Terror. Ignoring the possibility of a charge, that just leaves the Fear rule, correct?
Orc's to-hit with WS7 vs WS 4 is 3+, while Mathilde's is 4+.
Orc's to-wound with S5 vs T5 is 4+, Mathilde's to-wound with S6 vs T5 is 3+.
TL;DR: Orc easily passes Fear tests, misses completely on first round, Mathide and Dread Aspect each deal one damage. Second round, Mathilde takes one damage, but she then finishes off the Orc.
What I realize: the +2S from the Greatsword is absolutely fantastic, as it flat out didn't allow an armor save for the Orc and was just barely enough that wounding him become 3+ instead of 4+, which cinched the second round kill.
What I confirmed: armor saves higher than 3+ aren't worth all that much. If the Orc were using a greatweapon, our armor would have been completely negated (as we did to him).
The Orc averaged 3.53 (60/17), while Mathilde averaged a perfectly average 3.5 (49/14).
This look right?
@edit: The tests he passed were unnecessary, and I missed he should have taken a S7 hit after wounding Mathilde due the Belt, but he died without doing anything else in the same turn, so the battle seems pretty valid as a measuring stick.
Hey Boney, I was rereading the early quest and I just want you to know that it's been a delight watching Mathilde grow.
I just felt like it should be said.

The tally is kinda bleh with combining them. You have to click and hold a thing and move it around below whatever it is combining it with till the little outline of where its gonna go moves right and slots under the thing. Like so.
