Probably an interesting scenario that requires Mathilde to use a shadow knife rather than her greatsword, given that she can usually no clip and so swing it through stone when she has Substance of Shadow active.

Presumably there was a well lit but confined section she could infiltrate using Shroud of Invisibility where she needed a knife for close on work.

That's not bad. First thought is that it's a bit redundant compared to Kragg's rune, But might be a good redundancy for anyone just wearing enough steel to shrug off a cannonball.

Alas, no bazillion knife spam. It was not to be.

...Honestly kind of eh, considering we have our sword and shadow chisel.
it is better than a shadow chisel because it ignores non magical armor. Our sword is nice but its swing is slow. It's also a spell so it would trigger smoke and mirrors. This would allow us to kill, jump, kill, jump and so. Just be an absolute death giving machine that blinks with every kill

We basically have that video game skill that pops up in stealth action games that allows you to chain assassinations on nearby targets.

Once, Before, in the Long, Long Ago before BoneyM left us. The elders, they tell of a time of plenty. When updates fell as rain.

But in these sad, grim times, there is only an eternity of darkness, and the laughter of thirsting gods.

Ah yes, back in the Good Old Days...

Thankfully, Boney has seen to bless us with hope this dawn, the Mathilde to our Belegar!

Psychic energies don't transfer when you eat Orks.

Otherwise we'd end up with some very aggressive cabbages.

I know it's not how it works, but I'm still kinda hoping we get some Dwarf Hell plants growing out of the Field of a Million Dead Orcs :p

Now to see if I can resist spoilers for the next few hours...

Have you ever played Warframe . We are now Ash with this and smoke and mirrors it useful especially if we find Eshin training or training with the elves.

Holy heck Mathilde calm down.

Yep.

It means she can literally assassinate a target, and in the same move teleport behind the next one. It's absolute fucking horseshit it is since Shadow Daggers was pretty much our "Cast this to teleport safely" spell anyway

Well, now we know a ship name for Mathilde and Johann: Yellow Flash.

That said, the acquisition of a Mastery means that the crits are in the Trenches. Who wants to speculate wildly as to what's going on in the mountains we scouted?

What is the upside of Mastery compared to the normal knife-throw? We lose distance and the number of knives, but would do we gain? Precision (targeting specific body part vs. shotgun-like spread)? Stealth (melee kill less noticeable than three throwing knives)?

Is this stab and port out or portin a d stab?

If I were to speculate?

Speed and assurance, likely interacting with Smoke and Mirrors in a way that lets her teleport from target to target and chain backstabs without crossing the intervening space at any given point.

Speed. It is far faster to just stab someone than throw something at them. Plus just like the universal confusion it's likely a seperate cast mode. So we don't lose anything per say. We just get to choose which version we want.

Mathilde: **Teleport behind skaven warlord back** « Nothing personal kid... »

In both cases we cast a spell, though. Normal mode makes it sound like knives are summoned and thrown in the same action, no separate throwing required.

But they still have to reach their target. That takes time. I guess you could try and cast the spell right next to someone but that offers you a lot less control about where you want to hit.

You know somewhat inspired by the steamthrower could we make a corrosive mist spell with the IFF property of the burning shadows. If we can and enchant it into some weapons it be useful as hell for tunnel fighting.

There is also the fact that since we are holding it that means Mathilde can probably do multiple melee strikes with a single dagger and then throw it like the projectile version.

With sundry literal and metaphorical headaches done away with, on with the show. Voting closed, writing has begun.

On Warpstone:

Warpstone is more popularly known in the Empire as wyrdstone, and 'strange magic rock' is about the extent of what is correctly known by the masses. There's a long list of other properties that it's been falsely given, and it's hard to say what's merely the invention of charlatans, tricksters and snake-oil merchants and what's cover stories for various unsavoury forces commissioning ignorant adventurers to get it for them. When Mordheim was obliterated by a warpstone meteorite, mercenaries and adventurers flocked to it from throughout the Empire to pick it clean. A lot of it ended up in Vlad von Carstein's hands and fuelled the First Vampire War. It's only after Teclis and Magnus that it was properly identified as the crystallized essence of bad news and made extremely illegal.

Warpstone comes from a few different sources. Enough Dhar in one place will, under some conditions, crystallize into warpstone. It sometimes gets spat out by the Chaos Wastes, either blowing in as dust or being spat out as occasional boulders. Morrsleib and a number of meteors are made out of it. It's often found underground, and debate continues whether all of these underground sources are the remains of past meteors. Gromril is usually found near warpstone, which gives Dwarves and Skaven one more reason to clash.

Sealing it to redirect a Waaagh is a different matter to permanently sealing up a passage when those on the other side are perfectly capable of using shovels and picks.

As active titles with responsibilities rather than titular titles, one per major Clan, plus Dreng. Technically Prince Gotri could also go by Thane if he really wanted to.

Rock trolls eat rocks and there's an entire aquatic ecosystem in the cistern, but it looks like the regular trolls were previously picking off greenskins in the Eastern Valley for food and since the Dwarves moved in they've mostly been surviving off bugs, fungus, and each other.

Regular electricity follows the path of least resistance. Warp lightning is more free-spirited, and follows whichever path it feels like at the time.
Did you intend to make deadly warp-lightning so appealing and.... fluffy there, or was that just an unexpected bonus?
