Hmmm. I like Citadel Focis a lot, but o ly if we're going to teach the Spiders next turn. Reikspiel is fine for everyday stuff, but the semaphore is far, far more useful if we want the spiders to be actual battlefield allies.

I just really like the idea of hard headed dwarves communicating with the We. I just imagine a dwarf signing back awkwardly to spiders to not eat him and to eat the skaven instead.

[X] Plan Citadel Focus
-[X][Max] Current Task: Have Maximilian teach the We written Reikspiel.
-[X][Johann] Allow him to spend all his time investigating Clan Mors.
-[X][EIC] Instil corporate policy: always be scrupulously honest when dealing with Dwarves.
-[X][Social] Wolf is now fully grown, and is a very large dog or a regular-sized wolf. Train him. (increases his intelligence, may deepen Familiar bond)
-[X][Penthouse] Have a tower built atop Karag Nar: -100gc for 1 room, bonus to room's purpose.
-[X][Free] Request the translation item yourself (does not cost an action; converts 3 College Favour to Dwarf Favour).
-[X] Help the We establish their new nest below the Citadel.
-[X] Spend time assisting with a fellow councillor's task: Gunnar, assist him with human burial rites.
-[X] You have acquired the possession of the Temple where Ranald mugged Mork. Set up a shrine and spread knowledge of it throughout Karag Nar.
-[X] Write in: You've mapped the territory of Clan Mors. Help Johann poke Clan Mors
-[X] The Gambler: Poke Clan Mors

I've skipped a number of pages, is there a reason we're cashing in college favor ourselves rather than 'King Belegar asks'? Is it because we're trying to launder college favor into dwarf favor?
(Not totally keen on Clan Mors right now, but I'm not ready to make a production of it at the moment)

It's like Turn 20 Down with Clan Mors, except explicitly going with Johann and playing w wolf instead of snek.

I think it is the laundering, yes. Dwarven favors are considered to be harder to come across, despite our windfalls, whereas college favors can presumably be generated with consistent actions should they be required.

I think doing the potentially dangerous snake juice research in an ad-hoc lab is dangerous too.

Seriously, one turn until we have a lab appropriate for snake juice research. Why jump the gun?

Because reputation is the sum of past favor gained. So we lose 2 favor to gain 2 favor and 2 rep.

If we are ordering the item, we have a short term stop gap. Sorry Max, but I value 2 of your actions less than one of ours.

RE: Morr

Since we have contact with Stirland (assuming via EIC) writing down to Morr cult there to help our fellow councilor can also help I think.

[ ] Deliver King Belegar's request to the College for a translation item (does not cost an action).
[ ] Request the translation item yourself (does not cost an action; converts 3 College Favour to Dwarf Favour).
On one hand, requesting the item ourselves will cut so much hassle but establishing a formal contact from Belegar with College can do more good in long run I think.
and who knows we might hopefully get prospective wizards?

[ ] Help the We establish their new nest below the Citadel.
[ ] Help the We establish their new nest below Karag Lhune.
[ ] Help the We establish their new nest below Karag Nar.

I haven't catched up yet but ideally the lair of We should be safe enough for them to retreat aka reduced posibility of attack from Skaven and Orcs, but uhh yeah I don't know which one is the best.

Also, we should give time for Max to study his interest and Johann should be pushed to 'graduate' asap (ideally it wouldn't be at the same time so we can still have someone to help us.)

I'm going to catch up the discussion hoo boy

[X] Plan Citadel Focus

What sold me was this:

I want to apply two full Magisters directly to Skaven Faces. We can SoS Johann to make us both basically invincible and undetectable in the underways, and a Gold Magister messing around with people's technology is basically as absurd there as we are in darkness.
He's not messing around with technology in the sense of sabotage, he's looking over it to figure out how it works so he can begin the process reverse engineering it without the nasty warpy aspects.

I.e. we aren't just appeasing him, we're using him by having him engage in Path Of Doing What We Wanted Anyway appeasement.
Two Magisters can fuck up a lot of shit, and cause a lot of havoc even if its not their mission goal.

A significant factor in my choice:
-The Gold Wizards are often redundantly applied to a task, and best used for exploratory research rather than Investigative/Problem Solving research.
--This turn, Johann and Max are redundant, they can do long term investigations on the spider stuff, immediate tasks of teaching spiders how to write(I partly want Max to teach writing because Max has good writing!), and for Johann he can apply full Magister skills on Skavenfucking.
---Worse, they don't play nice with each other so assigning them both to the same task is likely to get less done rather than more.

We'd really have had better options if we hired the Ambers on, but done is done.
There is the concern that we're spending multiple actions kicking over the hive that is a Skaven clan when it's not our job, the dwarves don't know we're doing it, and it might unbalance the web of power hereabouts. We're unlikely to be spotted, because Magisters, but just the idea that the twisty bastards that are Skaven might correctly guess the dwarves (i.e. us) are making a play makes me nervous as hell.

Remember the last time we tried to cause infighting? It worked out because goblins are dumb, but the Moulder rats correctly deduced that we weren't a skaven assassin despite looking exactly like a skaven assassin.

I've skipped a number of pages, is there a reason we're cashing in college favor ourselves rather than 'King Belegar asks'? Is it because we're trying to launder college favor into dwarf favor?
Dwarf favor is harder to get than College.
Am I misinterpreting what 'poke Clan Mors' means in Plan Citadel Focus? It sounds a lot like the 'cause mayhem' vote.
Its working with Johann to hunt for Skaven tech.

...and do opportunistic sabotage/theft, but those were happening regardless.

BoneyM said if we wanted to explicitly hit the Skaven together with two Magisters thats what we use.

Heideck should be able to get word to him, but that it's College and Dwarf favours you'd be avoiding paying means that you'd be commissioning theft from wizards and Dwarves. Only one of those are subtle, but both are quick to anger.
Fair point, but we are sitting at 0 Favor in all categories other than College and Dwarf and I don't care so much about pissing off, say, Marienburger Merchant Princes or Brettonians. Their books are worth just as many +1s and we don't have any conventional means of acquiring them.

Still, even if we don't employ him as a book thief it's good to know that we can, at any time, add to our actions things like...
[ ] Commission Jack to steal a breeding pair of Brettonian warhorses
[ ] Commission Jack to make copies of the personal correspondence of all the women trying to seduce Anton
[ ] Commission Jack to steal the blueprints for the manufacture of the latest cannons from Altdorf
[ ] Commission Jack to mysteriously relocate a sacred Ulrican relic currently held by the Cult of Sigmar following the recent religious strife into the hands of the Ulrikadrin

Would this need action slots, or can we send the required letters as a free action?
