Between Dwarven Hell war pointed at Forest of Gloom and Ranaldian Holy Ground we saw, I feel like Forest of Gloom reclamation is going to end up being one of the jobs we get offered after the Waystone Project.

If we can get Brettonia to pay us with an army it would be a great tool to use in such a job.

Also a paper on the "A Road of Ice and Fire" is interesting enough to write I think. We migh even collabrate with Roswita on that since she has speciality on the subject and she might be able to handle the data analysis.

The latter. You can not show it if you really try, but doing so habitually is a really tedious skill to cultivate.
Interesting. Is it correct that this doesn't work for normal humans, only wizards and for Mathilde magic priests?

I'm thinking that this soul sense works because wizard souls are partially wind, so magesight can see that, and since the wizard has control of the wind they can still it if they want it. Sort of like what Mathilde did with the unnatural shadows mark, though that had extra complication because of how exactly that mark worked.

- Reading through the new additions to the library (and getting a glimpse into the Vlagians' adventures in Worst Narnia) and sorting them into their proper categories will be a social action.
I wonder if Vlagian margin notes (and possibly other notes?) will count as Karaz Ankor bonuses to magical subjects? That'd be neat.

This is only not my most-anticipated social action because we're also doing the Galaxy Dunk this turn.

Anyone can learn the state of mind required, but it takes someone with Magesight to sense their own soul and know if they're getting it right. The soul can be perceived with Magesight and that gives a lot of information away to someone skilled at interpreting it.

I like the idea, but i would prefer to have Brettonia help into an Hell War closer to them, to make them more effective.

So, if we are plannning to reclaim stuff into the Grey Mountains we call Brettonia, otherwise we need to find somebody else do to the dirty work for us.

Idealy, i would prefer to have Greenskins, Beastmen and Skaven weaken each other as much as possible before swooping in with the Dwarfs to finish off whoever is left standing at the end.

But if we can't manipulate our enemies into killing each other for us, then i would probably be in favor of building a power base into the Border Princes and use it to attack the Forest of Gloom togheter with the Dwarfs.

The Southern Realms are not lacking in mercenaries willing to kill Goblins and Beastmen for money, and the Dwarfs for sure have more than enough riches to fund such a massive campaign.

One of the few pieces of canon lore we have on the Shadowgor Warherd claims that they specifically hunt down Bretonnian knights because they like to use the helmets as war trophies.

I think the hard part of getting Bretonnian help is figuring out how to fit so many Knights Errant into the beastpaths.

If we set up our new Sevirophones along it, we could write papers on the audible magic detectable along it! Call it A Song of Ice and Fire. Then we write followup papers, of course, but the one where we speculate on the Lore of Ice through a Teclisian paradigm* will unfortunately cause a diplomatic incident and never be released.

Forest of Gloom is not that far away from the Bretonnia. About as far as Forest of Shadows we were talking about upthread.

I think only closer Hellwar is Skavenblight and calling them to it is ...eouch. That is a war that I am not interested in having at all. Not without some really good advantage anyhow.

I feel like readers are glossing over how terrifying the fact that Mathilde can just casually whip up and then direct a minor Waaagh! is to most of people in setting.

There is a group of elves who could help teach Mathilde about Beastmen. I just wonder what it will cost. There is also a group of Taal knights and a couple of wizards who fight goblins and Beastmen regular.

But I have been thinking about what comes next and what would be good for the waystone project and the world is Mathilde helping reclaim parts of the world so we can put down waystones. If the Forrest go gloom is cleared that is one area. Actually there are plenty of countries that would love to have Mathilde bring her resources and skill to bare against enemies . Kisle has troll country. The empire has multiple Forrests . Bretonia has Mousilann. The dawi have multiple mountain ranges. But coming down to it I think Mathilde being a helper to help reclaim parts of the world and expand the waystone network would be a Greta next project.

Would you say that our Dum expedition was a Feast for Crows?

We will -I think- have to bring Ranaldian faithful to Forest of Gloom reclamation. Considering the place seem to be his cradle Ranaldians have to be forefront of the reclamation in order to turn it to holy ground again and they would need the credit to take it without challange.

Loec faithful Elves are the ones we should reach out first I think, they would be the other interested group and working together to ensure there is no conflict would be important.
