To be honest, I didn't reply because I had never heard of the Sisters of Twilight before, but I've just looked them up and yeah, I can see them being the Daughters of Loec and Isha in Boney's Warhammer. I don't think it's a conclusion I would leap to naturally—they do feel very "mortal" to me, but they are just special enough that if they are the Sisters, I would go "huh, neat".

Also, they ride a dragon into battle, which tells me they have exceptionally good taste.

Keep in mind one of the theories about the parentage is 'daughters of Ariel and Orion', which is to say avatars of Isha ad Kuronos, the former me which is a good theory for being Shayla, so all it would take is an elf Avatar of Leoc in the mix and... yeah magic godly elf babies.

instead framing it as a simple matter of fact that a Grey Wizard leaves fully-formed spy cells in their wake.
I mean… not wrong.

I think at this point he deserves a capitalised 'the'.

You also go through the rest of your messages from the EIC while you're at it, frowning at the increased volume of messages concerning some sort of trouble brewing in Ostermark while still maintaining the complete dearth of useful information. Everything else appears to be business as usual, with the output of the blackpowder factory in Wurtbad steadily increasing as the workers grow used to the process. There is, however, a build-up of activity in Sylvania, possibly hinting at a resumption of active warfare in the coming year after such a very long siege. An uptick in traffic through Barak Varr, apparently as a result of more infighting than usual among the pirates of Sartosa. And rumours of unrest between Marienburg and Couronne, possible a reignition of the eternal question of where, exactly, the border between Couronne and the Wasteland can be found.
The endless plot hooks of Boney's worldbuilding.

When you finally finish and submit the application, you expect to wait months as a proper assessment is made, possibly involving hosting an inspection committee to study the grounds themselves. You're a little outraged when within the hour one of Altdorf's pigeons, grown large and confident from a city steeped in Ghur, drops in your lap the official recognition of KAU's new status with Dragomas' blocky signature on it.
…this implies that some cheeky git notice Mathilde floundering through the bureaucracy and rather than help they rushed off to tell Dragomas who in turn decides to sit back and watch rather than help.

I suppose this is what Mathilde gets for gallivanting around the world Doing Things rather than spending time at the office College.

and dress for a meeting with one of the most powerful Wizards in the Empire, a circumstance that has become dizzyingly common of late.
Between her weapons and allies I suspect Mathilde could make a credible claim at being one of the most powerful Wizards in the Empire.

That is why they call me the Wanderer, you know.
I like him. Very Gandalf.

Whenever I think I'm used to Warhammer names by now, I am confronted with GW apparently deciding that someone's parents didn't see any issue with naming their daughter "Daughter".

I'm kinda compelled to assume that Tochter Grunfeld's name is partly or wholly a druidic title of some sort rather than a first and last name, just to protect my sanity.
Really hoping that was the intent on GW's part as well, I guess.

Interesting thing about Sisters of Twilight is that their lore got a complete overhaul between 6th and 8th Edition.

In 6th they were a kid named Naestrahan who ventured into the Forest of Athel Loren at some point and was thought lost until she came back as two different people, Naestra and Arahan, during the Battle of Pine Crags in 1350 IC. They were the ones to kill Grungni Goldfinder the greedy adventurous Dwarf who led a Karak Norn expedition to Athel Loren. In 8th Edition they appear around the time that Ariel locks herself in the Oak as her representatives/heralds, which is around 1700-1800 IC.

I think Boney is likely to go with the more modern interpretation instead of Naestrahan, but I just thought this was worth noting. The Sisters of Twilight and Eltharion get some of the most significant lore overhauls that I can remember.

What is the difference between a spy, and a friend?
You don't have to pay your friends. :V

But more seriously, there is little difference between a spy, and a friend who is willing to confide in you.
So apart from EIC, MAthilde is leaving spy cells everywhere she goes, it's just that they are dormant ones she needs to individually activate when needed, instead of them passively drip feeding her information.

I just finished making an experimental Kadoh statblock. I had a lot of fun making it, mostly because it got me thinking about an Eonir army:
MWSBSSTWIALd
586443849
Troop Type: Infantry (Special Character)

Magic: Kadoh is a Level 2 Wizard. He does not generate spells in the normal way, instead, he automatically knows the Signature Spells of the eight basic Battle Magic Lores.

Special Rules: Always Strikes First, Blessing of Asuryan, Cityborn, Stubborn

Blessing of Asuryan: All of Kadoh's attacks count as Magical. Kadoh's Ward save is improved by +1, increasing it to a 5+ Ward save, and he gets to reroll Ward save rolls of a 1.

Cityborn: Rolls 3D6 for panic tests, discarding the highest number. Doesn't take Panic tests when units with the Forestborn special rule break, flee or are wiped out.

Champion of Laurelorn: Kadoh must always issue and accept challenges if he is able. If Kadoh is in a challenge, then he rerolls all failed To Hit and To Wound rolls. In addition, his Ward Save improves by +1.

Master of Weapons: Kadoh is the premier athlete in Laurelorn, the Champion of the Festival of Games. As a result, he is a master of nearly every weapon and fighting style known to exist, at least by the standards of your average imperial. Kadoh is equipped with a wide variety of weaponry and he can choose to change his loadout at the start of each Close Combat phase. He has special rules pertaining to some of these weapons. The options are as follows:

Hand weapon and shield: 5+ Parry save instead of a 6+ Parry save, armor save is 1 point higher as usual.

Two hand weapons: 2 Extra Attacks instead of 1 extra attack.

Great Weapon: Always Strikes First cancels Always Strikes Last (this is a normal rule I'm just clarifying this for those not familiar with rule intricacies)

Spear and Shield: Gains Armor Piercing special rule and has a 6+ Parry Save (normally not possible with a Spear and Shield).

Halberd: Attacks with Kadoh's Halberd cannot be Parried.

Longbow: Can only be used for Shooting Attacks and follows all the normal rules except for the following. Kadoh always has the Quick to Fire special rule and does not suffer penalties for Stand and Shoot or shooting at long range.

Magic Items:

Grey Lord Armor: Armor made by the Grey Lords. 4+ Armor save and a 6+ Ward Save.
To those experienced with Warhammer, you will notice that I didn't really make him a Wood Elf (No Blessing of the Ancients or Forest Stalker) or a High Elf (No Martial Prowess and obviously no Valor of Ages). I wanted to make the Eonir distinct, so I made a bunch of original custom rules from what we've gotten from the quest and started thinking about how to flavor a different type of Wood Elf.

I'm still finetuning a lot of this stuff, and it looks wonky because I don't have a playerbase to playtest this. It's not like I'm planning to make this a viable build for the tabletop, I'm just doing this for fun and because Boney inspired me to achieve a level of creativity that I've never thought I could have.

As ever, this is purely for fun and largely speculation. Don't take this too seriously.
I like this except for you giving him T 4. Even elf Heracles (Khorhil captain of the white lions, strong enough to crush a druchii's spine and internal organs through their plate armour with a bear hug only has T3. The only elf with T 4 on the tabletop is malekith with his darth vader armour.

I really think we should use our next EIC action to actually give The Hochlander a actual shadowy headquarters. We got an option to put it in our old sunken palace and that fits very well.

Yeah we had a whole discussion on this. I personally think Korhil deserved T4, and GW's insistence on never giving any Elf other than Malekith higher than T3 is odd and most likely a balance decision. It's one of those things that I just can't grasp, like Shadowblade having WS10 a Weapon skill that no other mortal in 8th Edition has (Tyrion gets it in End Times. You can argue he isn't mortal by that point).

Also, Korhil has S4, same as any other Elf hero except for mages. You're telling me that there's no discernible difference in power between Tyrion and Korhil?

No there is. Each number on the stat sheet is a spectrum. To translate it into rpg stats Korhil would have str 49% compared to Tyrion's 44% or something. And gw is too consistent with giving elves a lower toughness ceiling mechanically (across all their game lines) and calling them out as reflectively frail in the lore for it to just be a balance descision. Certainly the average elf is pretty much as tough as a human but they have a lower ceiling for both str and toughness before they need supernatural assistance to go higher.

And I feel like Kadoh is that guy. I'm running under the impression that Kadoh is an Everqueen equivalent:
The position of Champion is linked to Asuryan like a sort of inverse Everqueen, which suggests a possible source of Yadoh's longevity.
This might not be the case, but it is part of my speculation. I actually went easy on the statblock. I wanted to give him more so he would match up against the Everqueen powerwise but then I cooled down and decided that what I gave him was enough.

I might very well be wrong, I just hope you can understand why I made him the way I did.

YOUR WAYSTONES HAVE FAILED YOU, SO SETTRA WILL ERECT SUPERIOR PYRAMIDS UPON THE RUINS OF YOUR CITIES. THANK SETTRA FOR HIS BENEFICENCE.
See, this is the sort of generosity and compassion from Settra that I don't think I've seen explored in fiction before.

Ngl, I thought he was a bit of a blowhard or was deeply insecure but this casts him a new light. What a lovely chap. That aside, someone should pobably should let him know that our cities aren't ruins but are just... shit (how embarrasing!)

If we do ask him I don't think a plain thank you would be enough tbh. We'd have to get him a card at the least and probably a gift basket too.

Edit: Oh! Is our modified gyrobomber ready/comfortable enought to pick up Anton + his dad for a holiday of a few weeks to K8P (and meet Pan), or would it be much better after the comfort runes are added?/Is having a dedicated pilot or not relevant for that journey?

It was my objection too :V.

But Elf super-beefcake having T4 is not too much of a stretch imo.

I also gave Johann S5 and T5 and I didn't see any objections to that. The only human in 8th Edition with base Strength 5 that I know of is from Tamurkhan, Lietpold the Black, who is also the only mundane human with WS7 that isn't Kurt Helborg.

I don't think the people making Tamurkhan cared that much about balance/narrative consistency.
