Think our "intelligent" citizenry, or at least the nobles, felt that magic tainted crops were too risky.

And somehow survived the lynch mobs a few weeks later.

Ostermark grain was boycotted by a lot of Imperial nobles who stepped up their own agricultural efforts in response and was sold to Kislev. They could maybe sell to Tilea, although they don't exactly have an easy way to ship grain there. Ostermark is a long way from the coast, and transporting that much grain overland to Salkaten or another port would be expensive.

The famine just happened so yes it would be a good idea for Ostermark to sell their surplus food to Tilea if the Empire is to stupid to buy it themselves.

It would help the country and fix the trade loss.

Could help fund the transport which would be a good option to have next turn.

This would get us the good will of Tilea which means more trade later.

Hmm.

This has potential, we provide safety for transport for minimal fees, maybe even generously spend some money to make it happen. Tilea gains relief until their famine is over, Ostermark gains money, we gain relations which are far more important than gold to us. Everybody wins.

Exactly.

Think that we should also set up that trade deal in guns and cannons to Estalia since the guns could be a very big game changer against the Norscans if they can get a lot at a cheap price.

The success chance for the action should increase and we get more money out of it since the Estalia should be desperate for an edge.
 
Side note, if we do have our Jade Wizards magic up our crops, we should have priests, particularly of Esmeralda, inspect it and verify it as good eating in a public display, after a earlier private check that yes, it's not going to be risking corruption or anything.

Then go on to a festival that day with all sorts of neat treats made from the magically grown food.

Do like the idea of Halfling Farmers and Jade Wizards working together on the farming in general.
 
Just a question, but have we hatched our Griffon yet?

Seeing as the Griffon Egg we gave to the Emperor had to be hatched before the end of the year...
 
Also, i recall there was plan to hire Long Drong pirates as protection for our coast.

I mean, so there isn't really any other threat but let's just be prepared.

For all we know, the raiders probably fattening or warming themselves up before we leave for the expedition and start attacking our coast again.

And we also got the option to sell to Tilea or Estalia right? I think we should get that started as well.

Bad for the Estalians, sure, but on the other hand this greatly reduced the pressure of raiders in the Sea of Claws for the Empire, so it all worked out in the end, right?

After over a decade of intense diplomacy, trade negotiations, and other sundry things, the sheer number of handguns and cannons present in the Empire, nay, the Old World, has greatly eclipsed what was present before. Considering that Middenland had no real settlements up there in the first place, it is not that unexpected. Some questioned it as a measure to expand the territory of Nordland considering that literally no settlements or humans are allowed in the dark Laurelorn Forest which is known to be under the total control of the Wood Elves there, but the amount of territory gained is essentially negligible in comparison. Some, however, are worried that Count Kessel may have been ensorcelled somehow, given that these efforts will also perfectly protect Laurelorn's borders. With nothing at all able to enter the Forest, who knows what those strange beings are getting up to?

Need to get more food to feed the refugees, more troops to back her without exposing our backs, and more guns to shoot everything with

Or they're trying to flank us by hitting Estalia so that they can basically Chaos up a force to hit a relatively soft border.
 
That and bringing down another country probably gives them a soon base of operation.

Also, i'm inclined to believe that Annushka may actually be defeated in the troll lands rather than an assassination by Kattarin. Call it a hunch though.

Even so, yeah. The political situation isn't really looking good in Kislev, we'll have to let things settled a bit first.

Bretonnia and Tilea are both between Estalia and the Empire. So I don't think that's a realistic possibility. Also, Estalia is pretty south, which makes Chaos weaker in those parts. My guess would be either the Norscans wanting some good raiding done, because they were not very succesful in the North lately, or some convoluted plan against Ulthuan and our magic research facility.
 
Ostermark's agricultural production is fully aligned, at the moment, with supplying themselves and Kislev - though overflow and older trading treaties with the Trident means that grain is also being sold and traded within Nordland and Ostland.

They don't have excess to send to Tilea.

Kislev is taking great advantage of this, as they are eating literally more grain than their land could previously have grown on its own.

(Kislev Full Agricultural Production+Partial Full Ostermark Production= More than Just Kislev)

Hunger is at an all time low, births are up, nutrition is up, strength of soldiery is up, and many common people are pleased. Several nobles are unhappy due to the foreign and foreign magic-aided nature of the grain, but living in goddamn Kislev for generations has created quite the pragmatic people. So they'll grumble, and grunt, and shake sticks, but hell yeah they'll take the damn food.

So consider, please, if you really, really want to have Ostermark realign their current customer base.

Whelp. Better start getting uses out of our Jade wizards either to sell to Tilea or sell to Kislev(once demand grows again). Maybe clear out large chunks of forest to make place for farmlands(once we have a spare action for it)...

We could probably use a farm expansion to feed our growing Ogre population come to think of it...

Famine in Tilea might give the Skaven time to recuperate(lack of pressure from Miragliano) but they've been dealt a blow due to the conflict with the Orcs(and possibly, the failed wolf crusade) which is probably why the Dwarves are expanding at their current rate(one hold reclaimed, reclamation of a second planned within a few years).

If it wasn't for the Norscan invasion of Estalia, the Orc trouble brewing in the Badlands and us just having had to deal with all this corruption bullshit(Lahmian problems probably still ongoing) I'd be feeling more paranoid about things going down the drain in the background.

Though honestly, the famine is likely to resolve itself...after a few years of starvation, privation and death. It's happened before, and it's likely to happen again. Perhaps we can solve it, but if not, it's not likely to be the end of the world.

True. But by that point the Kislevite demand may have increased again. Potentially allowing us to bolster the northern bulwark even further.

Or another market may have grown. Or we have enough Ogres to... you get the point.

Yeah, but in her defense we did do something monumentally stupid in her opinion. Doesn't matter if it would have ended the rumors the Slutpires spread about us, the fact of the matter is that she could have lost us, or worse, be forced to watch as they killed us.

If anything I'm glad she's mad, it just shows how much she cares for and loves us. That said, we're gonna have to grovel a lot to get back into her good graces, let alone her bed.

Maybe we'll get a personal action for it.

Now would be an excellent time to start selling weapons to Estalia.

Ideally, we should have the conneciton with any remaining fey there, and then use as much of the area for farming
