Would also finally allow Roland to return home to his family and give us direct access to the country in general.
Not necessarily, or even likely really. As a Grail Knight he's more likely to be sent on some mission by the Lady/King or go do something she'd approve of. Unless the Lady feels that his lands need specifically him he's unlikely to be sent to be on permanent retainer next to them. It's not like he has a fief to lord over either anymore. He relinquished it when he went on the Quest.

Duty doesn't end after you finish the quest. If anything it merely starts.

He is likely to be sent back to Bretonnia though yes.

Yup. Unless his old fief had a holy place that needs a Grail Knight guardian he's not going to be going back there.

Or he dies in Karak Ungor, ending over 25 years of Questing service to the Lady deep below the earth, far from home, without his family.

But who knows, right? :p

At least Freddy remembers him.

There are lord knows how many other questing knights that we probably never heard, knew or even seen dying without so much anyone knowing about them.

Well if his quest end goal it there odds are we are gonna come face to face with another godly/demigodly figure in the Green Knight.

I was wondering besides Goblins and Squigs is there anything we should prepare for when we go to the Hold?

Didn't Night goblins also use some fungus mushroom potions?

And don't forget, if there are night goblins that came back from the Ork Skaven conflicts, they'll definitely be veterans and learned the trick of feeding warpstones to their squigs.

Don't forget our old buddy Neferata lives nearby as well. She might want to get to better know her new neighbors after all.

I don't see gobbos really surviving in great enough numbers to matter. If there were survivors they are definitely boss material though.

Boss Goblins should certainly be watched out for as well as any Warp bomb Squigs.

Considering that Dwarfs have the most experience when fighting Night Goblins we should generally follow their lead on things and have them think up ways to use our forces in general.

Eitherways, looks like we're going to be in a heavy slog.

I'm slightly worried on how our troops will feel though, they're not going to be used to the kind of underground and tunnel warfare.

Hope the Dwarfs can give us a crash course then.

Also our troops are most likely going to focus on the Goblins on the surface for the most part anyway.

One things for sure though, our Doomspheres* are gonna be hell in those tunnels.

Gristle, blood, and meat as far as the eye can see, and given their tendency to explode into balls of fire, it'll be cooked to boot.

*DOOMSPHERE!!

Exactly.

Might inspire the Dwarfs to make their own much improved version which will make tunnel fighting easier for them in general.

More like dust off the plans for an older, but tried and tested version.
Point. Hope that if we are success we can ask the Dwarfs for some Gromil armor since that is the only stuff that is likely not going to get destroyed if we wear it.

That or a Runic Gromil arm that moves like a normal one.

Goblin Fanatics are just about as brutal against infantry in close confines as our Doomspheres are.

Night goblins are very accomplished alchemists and expert tunnel fighters. Them learning how to introduce Warpstone into their fungal creations is pretty scary. Fanatics are ridiculous enough without Warpstone enhancement, and if they figure out how to make Squigs not explode from the stuff they would be well on their way to making Clan Moulder style superwarbeasts.
