Isn't Brettonia the way it is because that's the way that the Wood Elves and The Lady want it? I thought that if they modernized that they would get problems from the Godly front. Or was that just fanon that only showed up in Gaius' quest?

The Nobility isn't allowed to use ranged weapons on Bretonnian soil period.

That means most knights don't use gunpowder.

The Doomsphere on the other hand. is Melee(and thus perfectly legal).

Bretonnia's navy technically isn't on Bretonnian soil though, so they have no such restrictions.

Also, IIRC peasants weren't allowed to worship the Lady(who forbids the use of ranged weaponry) so they also don't have said restrictions.

Otherwise, why would the 6th edition Bretonnian army book have peasant bowmen(page 53) and field trebuchets(page 56)?

[X] Accept Sir Roland, veteran Questing Knight of Bretonnia, in the Karak Ungor Campaign. Why has he dedicated himself so harshly to his Quest, however? Shame? Corruption? Uneasy thoughts indeed. You can probably convince the dwarves to let him come when you show up.

Bretonnia isn't innovative because the nobility like the situation just fine. Only the *knights* are bound by the no-ranged weapon decree of the Lady.

Not to mention, getting the ladies blessing is pretty sweet.

So there's that as well. It seems ridiculous but the Bret has been turning over every orc attack with it and so why fix what is not broken.

Yeah multiple people have said yet people still vote for some reason.

I think the New Countess should have a good opinion of us since our forces help finish the fight in a location of her province that her family have been trying to get back for awhile.

I would curse that the vote has passed, but the option I wanted to win won anyway :p

I dunno, if Stephan is actively trying to get our attention rather than just giving a happy greeting, I'd assume it's important.

[X] Accept Sir Roland. We've gone this far, we may as well finish the journey... That said, we're going to keep one eye on him when the reclaiming finally begins.

[X] Nordland Concerns... we probably need to find out anything that may threaten us or benefit us in the north, seeing as we're going on an expedition next year, and two chaos gods seem to be interested in us.

If it's important would should go talk to him and maybe even mention about our newest Imperial Greatship that he may want his own province to make.

Also once we are done with Swivel Guns research those can be mounted on all Imperial vessels regardless of class since mini cannons can be great additions to ships in general.

I wonder if hearing about the Skaven Under Empire during the Meet is the push we need to ask the Dwarfs to create a Hold under our capital.

Can we put a Bretonnia knight on top of a Doomsphere steed?
His horse is likely more badass.

Besides the spheres tend to explode after they stop rolling so it isn't the best mount.

We would mostly use them to cut down scores of Goblins since the spheres excel at killing light armored enemies in groups which the Goblins are which should become even more effective when in the close quarters of the Hold.

I hope that Roland's Quest is rewarded at the hold. And Frederick gets shown another instance of a order God intervening if Roland becomes a Grail Knight.
