Still hope we can bring Oskanna and her son down south to maybe have them have a little family reunion of their own.
I am curious what Big Magnus plans to do with Oskanna's other child since unlike us he doesn't have family to possibly give it to besides his brother who clearly is bonded to his Winter Wolf as he is to his griffin. Maybe gift it to a loyal servant?
From my understanding Octaine was hatched in 2340 IC (turn 36). Oskana's BD is 2325 IC, in case you need that.Nah, that's just me being an idiot. Oskana should 100% be on the family section.
Maybe the Grandmaster of the Knights Griffin since they are basically Magnus personal arm and cause it would fit with the name? Most likely yeah, thought i wonder who he will give the griffon to. Such a gift from the emperor would be a huge boon to who ever receives it and a sing of a lot of favor from Magnus.
Quite likely.Maybe the Grandmaster of the Knights Griffin since they are basically Magnus personal arm and cause it would fit with the name?
That is the general direction the thread is in.
- The Cursed Company [Race: Undead] [Origin: A cursed Imperial mercenary who once hired himself out to a necromancer against Wulfenburg itself. Betraying the necromancer for yet more gold, he was cursed into an undying revenant whose blade raises those he kills with it. Endlessly searching for true death.] [Numbers: 1,500 Varied Undead, 1 Richter Kreugar the Damned.]
- Ulfnar's Blood Seekers [Race: Norscan] [Origin: Norscans from the north who come south in search of bloodshed for glory and gold whenever the dark forces of the world pause for even a moment in their world-ending campaigns. Distrusted but grudgingly respected for their dedication to destroying their foes. It is only the fact that they step foot only in Tilea, the Border Princes, or Estalia that they are not ripped to shreds by furious Bretonnians or Imperials. [Numbers: 500 Norscan Marauders]
- The Red Band [Race: Norscan] [Origin: A band of bloodthirsty norscans who are so dedicated to the slaughter that they gained their name for the almost always fresh coat of blood slathering their bodies. So long as they can be convinced that the target will provide more blood and slaughter, they are entirely reliable.] [Numbers: 500 Norscan Berserkers, 1 Norscan Warlord known only as The Red Skull]
- Murder And Rippin's Killa Ridas [Race: Goblin] [Origin: A motley band of goblin wolf chariots which zip around battlefields gleefully killing and looting before riding off before they can be harmed. If one can manage to persuade them with enough money, they can usually be relied on once or twice in battle before they 'forget' who is paying them.] [Numbers: 100 Goblin Wolf Chariots]
- Tul the Undying [Race: Suspected Undead] [Origin: The Vaults] [Description: A single man, true, but a single man who seems utterly unkillable. He has been set aflame, stabbed through the heart, shot with dozens of arrows, shot by a full band of Tilean handgunners, and more. Yet he always rises, bearing a massive gleaming bronze blade with eldritch runes upon it with both hands. His entire body is further concealed by his armor and heavily woven black wraps, and yet few in Tilea have felt the need to try and 'reveal' him considering how much more valuable he is as an enforcer or simply good person to have on your side in a fight. His reasons are his own, however, and he refuses to speak on anything but his contracts, his subsequent banking, etc.] [Numbers: 1 Tul the Undying, seemingly unkillable warrior from The Vaults]
- Eeza Ugezod's Mother Crushers [Race: Black Orcs] [Origin: A devastating band of over-sized orcs who have fought for over four decades along the World's Edge Mountains, the Border Princes, and the Borderlands. Led by the low yet brutal cunning of Eeza Ugezod, they are slaughterers of the highest order - but also motivated and are captivated by the shine of gold. Thus far, their discipline is enough that they have actually seen employment by Border Princes and Merchant Princes alike, for a time at least before the fighting stops being good enough to match the gold.] [Numbers: 200 Black Orc Big 'Uns, 1 Mercenary Black Orc Big Boss Eeza Ugezod]
- The Amber Champions [Race: Human] [Origins: Araby] [Description: The Amber Ring is one of the premier gladiatorial pits in Araby. One master of slaves there decided to take his champions from there on the road, offering their incredible experience and spectacle. They fight for splendor and for wealth, now, far from their sandy home.] [Numbers: 50 Amber Gladiators, 1 Master Kaamil]
So spreading the seeds (in a controlled fashion anyways) is good common sense if it's possible, but I feel the need to note that, despite their owner being an exceedingly skilled and powerful wielder of magic specifically pertaining to flora, there are currently only five of these trees in existence. So breeding them might be a bit more difficult then just waiting for it to sprout some glowing acorns and burying them in the ground or whatever.
@torroar, they're not similar, they're the same god. It would be misleading to say the Cult of Shallya and the Cult of Salyak think they worship the same god, but only because that implies they're two different cults. Realm of the Ice Queen says that when a Salyakarin hospice fell into disuse, its priests asked the main temple in Couronne for cash to build a new temple. Salyakarin and Shallyan priests are somewhat different in their attitudes and how they see their goddess, but they both consider each other to worship the same deity and are ultimately part of the same organisation."Okay. The Widow...she has heard me before," she shivers slightly at the memory, "So perhaps she will listen once more. Salyak is only good sense."
"Of course," you say, "Not Shallya?"
The divide between the two Goddesses, their similarities, goes unsaid beyond the simple question.
are u sure I have read that they are 2 complete different gods and both of them believe that too you may be thinking of this sub cult@torroar, they're not similar, they're the same god. He contacted what few scattered members of the Cult of Shallya existed in Kislev, and pledged support to them, aiding them in their works, but also to the Cult of Salyak, the Kislevite god of healing and comfort, a somewhat harsher mistress than the Maiden of the Empire.
How much was rest, how much was the work of the Salyak or Shallya, was impossible to tell. Perhaps that was one of the reasons that the green witch of the south was still kept close in court.
What of Salyak, however? She resides as well, the only daughter of the Widow, within this temple. In a grand sermon, the first of its kind, attended to by citizens of noble and common blood alike, did the Tzarina speak, joined both by the most powerful of her peers in wielding the Widow's favor, and many Hags who had communed with the spirits for years to make their decisions in supporting her. For two hours did they all speak on all of this. Joined even by the mysterious and terrifying Ice Hags, though they never spoke a word. There were no Imperials present, no foreigners, not even Gospodar and Ungol – no, only the Widow's Children. Kislevites. United in the Ice Mother's embrace, all of the Land. The Ancient Widow is in every heartbeat, every breath. Kislev is Land. Land is Kislev. The Ancient Widow is Kislev. We are Kislev!
Salyaza Natasha Romanov, Married to Prince Gorbachev of Erengrad [High Priestess of Salyak] - Alive
- Prince Sorca Romanov (Formerly Gorbachev) of Erengrad, Husband of Natasha Romanov - Alive
Salyak, The Widow's Daughter: The southerners, the men of the Empire and beyond, worship a Goddess known as Shallya. The White Dove is a well-known entity across the Old World, but she is too frail for Kislev. Her clergy cannot take up weapons, even in the preservation of their lives, a concept that is wholly impossible to maintain for any right-minded Kislevite. Worse, they cannot ever kill, something that is even more ridiculous for any of The Land to consider. What are they to do, fall to their knees before the Kurgan? The Kul? The Hung, Tong, Norscans, and beyond? No. This is why the Goddess Salyak stands to shoulder the weigh, the Matron of Mercy rather than some naïve maiden. In the lands where her practices might bear fruit, let the White Dove fly to these places. The White Hawk of Kislev? Shows no mercy to her enemies. Ever. Her priests are warriors, her priestesses armed to protect the sons and daughters they help raise. In this purpose, the Tzarina has spent a considerable sum of the money she gained from her recent trade expedition organizing the establishment and/or refurbishing of temples of Salyak across Kislev, while simultaneously assisting the priesthood of the Widow's Daughter – for all are children of the Widow – in terms of supplies and arms in equal measure. Some, of course, wonder if the Tzarina shall attempt to bind her family with that of the Gods once more as she has in the vein of her sons...it would be like the Bloody Tzarina to do so, wouldn't it? Even so, her...unexpected charity is welcome to those who have no wish but to live another day and raise their children well.
Salyaza Romanov: It was a foregone conclusion that the Tzarina's pious and noble children would be chosen by the Gods. Ursun. Dazh. Tor. And now, finally, Salyak, no less important. In some cases, perhaps even more so. She raises the warriors, aids the children to grow strong against the harshness of The Widow's touch, and helps provide some comfort to those who fight in the name of Kislev. She is the Goddess of common sense and sound care, of healing and comfort to those who can benefit from it. A former High Priestess of the Widow – regardless of how short the timeframe of such a position was – Natasha Romanov, first daughter of the Tzarina, has been recognized by her brothers, her mother, as well as surprisingly a number of Hags to be the Salyaza, Chosen of the Daughter. It is only fitting, after all, for Natasha Romanov – not to be confused with her namesake to our south in Ostland – has ever been a most motherly figure. Kind but firm, strong in her connection to The Land and our gods. The Matron herself has shown great humbleness in her position. Truly, she was blessed by the appearance of two white hawks of Kislev arriving out of the snows in the winter to her home this year, where they recovered and later were released into the spring. The next day, a great flock shown itself over Erengrad, practically blocking out the sun before disappearing into the The Land. The fact that the native white hawk of Kislev does not traditionally form such gatherings is being seen as a great sign of favor. And an entirely divinely granted one! Don't let those Bohka botherers fool you. The amount of effort and money to somehow gather up a flock, release them, and have the Salyaza treat two of their brethren, then have them all released the day after without someone noticing would be absurd! The Tzarina has better things to do in Erengrad than that, just look out at the ships being built! Heretical thoughts, those!
The second was Natasha Romanov, named after the Tzarina's only sister. Though she had shown no particular talent for 'The Widow's Gift', as many were now insisting ice magic be called, she'd shown admirable skill when…lead towards…Salyak and Her practices. Salyak was not the weeping creature of the south, no matter what som might have wished or postulated. For one thing, priestesses of Salyak did not have luxury of being nonviolent when the kyazak and worse came south every year. No. They had a responsibility to raise the next generation's warriors, and to defend them if need be. A tale had been passed around since the Great War Against Chaos of when a priestess of Shallya, the frail southern White Dove, had provided no resistance when a group of kyazak fleeing after the Everchosen's death had entered a triage tent near ruined Praag and slaughtered the patients within. Not so Salyak's followers, who were both men and women alike. As it was, Salyaza Natasha was dangerously close to her mother in appearance, yet somehow managed to appear more matronly and severe, in certain lights almost looking of equal age to her own mother despite the ridiculousness of the thought. Her own children were even better behaved than Mattrin's own. Her husband moved stiffly, though that was more from old injuries than anything else.
At the Electors Meet we can speak with the Cult of Taal and Rhya, probably. That's if we want to do something with the tree right now, instead of wait a year, or three. You think we can reach out to the Cult of Taal and Rhya about new tree? After the wood elves they do have the most woodlore after all so would be in best position, alongside Jadge Wizards, to see what it would take to make sure tree is raised right and whatever possible decedents it would have.
Besides, more recent events have shown that the two elder gods are still important even in modern era in general so important to work with them in general to combat the darker things that lurk in forests of the world.
"You might not think it, but keeping a true pogrom against the Myrmidians from materializing is among the most difficult of those tasks."
The Middle Mountains would probably be our best bet in terms of environment for growing these things, to be sure, but I'd be a little leery of growing them there, honestly. Even leaving aside the massive Beastman invasion that's partially brewing there, the Middle Mountains historically have a large population of things that I don't think I'd want getting their hands on a bunch of cool super trees in general, even during times of (by warhammer standards) peace. Not to mention that some of the more exotic properties only manifest itself when it's supplied with constant flow of energy (Example, the apple that was given to us as a gift.).
But assuming if it's still good even without magic supply, then we do have a few good places to plant it. Especially when we're close to plenty of mountains for them to grow but we'll have to see first, the Freddy and Natasha tree barely has time to settle down and still needs plenty of growing anyways.
All in all, I think the biggest win here is Freddy being able to touch Natasha again without getting frostburn. So I'm happy with that.

All this talk about middle mountains, woods logistics yadda yadda yadda... my brain is just going.Yea, I thought of Middle Mountain at first but recall the huge logistical problem that comes with it but I think we got some other alternative mountains aside from Middle Mountains (I think. Not sure if there are.).
It's kinda...in the castle courtyard though, isn't it? Would be a bit hard to make a nature reserve in the middle of the castle. Probably best to just tell the castle staff not to touch it or anything that falls off of it and tell the kids not to swing any sharp objects near it, which I'm assuming Freddy's gonna do even without our direct inputU know considering this tree is alive and part of our family and it descendants will be, we should prob just make a tree reserve/park for in area surrounding it, only collect stuff that fallen, give it the respect and love it deserve as a member of our family

But swinging sharp objects at each other is what the family does. Surely we shouldn't leave our new family member out of our family bonding time. It's kinda...in the castle courtyard though, isn't it?
