personally i am pretty much done with this city but if anyone want to do something else here i do not mind.

uhm well like do the smart thing and live it up
[x] The Prince's Rest: Located in the Gold Mound and the most elite inn in the entire city that could have bulk rooms booked ahead of time, the Prince's Rest is famous for its high grade accomodations, including a specialized coachyard and stable for those fellows who might be eccentric enough to have non-standard mounts up to and including gryphons, pegasi, and in one notable instance a camel of Araby. (Cost: 100 Gold Crowns A Night For Entire Retinue)

there are standards we have too live up too.

She told us not to stick our nose into their business, but visiting a relative because they had a torrid affair is kinda different than trying to insert your own rather inept spy ring into situation :V
We can always buy her some of those legendary Nipponese Katanas send them to Kislev, alongside a letter asking how things are faring in there and about her Aunt´s new boytoy :V...

[] Burn Norscan town to the ground honoring your ancestors.

I am kidding but did not expect every Norscan to be a chaos worshipper. Also love that the Udose are still remember for killing so many Norscan.

The irony of someone with the username of Nurgle even jokingly suggesting this makes me giggle uproariously!

In any event, this is what I'm thinking plan wise:

[] Plan: Last-minute searching
-[] The Prince's Rest: Located in the Gold Mound and the most elite inn in the entire city that could have bulk rooms booked ahead of time, the Prince's Rest is famous for its high grade accomodations, including a specialized coachyard and stable for those fellows who might be eccentric enough to have non-standard mounts up to and including gryphons, pegasi, and in one notable instance a camel of Araby. (Cost: 100 Gold Crowns A Night For Entire Retinue)
-[] Plan To Do Something Tomorrow: (Write-In) [EX: Revisit a district with a specific purpose, journey to a different district, try to once again speak with Evangeline or even perhaps just the Matriarch/Patriarch in the city of the Magic Colleges, speak with Maghda again)
--[] Visit a play at one of the major theaters in the gold mound with Natasha.
--[] Visit Messteeg (Knife alley) and Wijnzak (Wine Sack ) to complete the alcohol tour, and look for anything that may attract your interest for trade, or just general interest.
--[] Go back to Indic District and Arabtown and try and get some seeds and/or samples of rubber and coffee. Maybe the engineers or Jade Wizards can figure out a way around the plants' finicky climate needs. Failing that try and find a merchant willing to import the stuff to Ostland on a regular basis.
--[] See if anyone from not-Nippon town has knowledge of the ships from that part of the world and see if you can convince them to move to Ostland. They might offer your own shipbuilders some unexpected insights. Oh and maybe pick up a weapon or two for your own armory while you are at it.
--[] Go back to the Temple of Verena, maybe you can run into the Sword of Justice and have that chat you weren't able to before. Failing that try and see if their archives have anything interesting. It's a longshot but Leonardo did this city and if anyplace might have a copy of his records it's here.
--[] Gather Your Retinue, And Set Out For Home. You've had quite enough of this city for now, you think. (Begin Journey Home)

I don't really see the point of visiting Luigis town, according to the Warhammer wiki it's just more Tileans.

Knife alley is not so named because that's where criminals hang out but rather so named because that's where the duel prone Estalians live. Last I checked we haven't visited the Estalians yet so we might as well, plus we have Ogre bodyguards in case something happens. As for Winesack that's where the Bretonnians hang out. Finally, the Nipponese are supposed to be some of the best sailors in the world so even though its a long shot we might get someone who knows their ships. Also, last I checked greenhouses for tropical plants exist IRL so it might be possible to set something like that up for small-scale coffee and rubber production.

But the Rubber Trees can survive and grow in Mediterranean cimates without the aid of magic, and I relly doubt that we can´t make them grow on oceanic climate with the help of the jades...

Besides, it doesn´t need to be the magical kind of help... the Jade College is the place in which the best botanics in the empire live, I am sure that they have already figured out how to make greehouses... They were already widely used through all Europe in the 17th Century
Greenhouses of that time straight up cannot be used to grow trees in enough quantity for industrial use. It would be novelty thing at best. About 8 kilo a year from each tree, but how many can you stick in a green house.

Magically enhanced Greenhouses might be able to pull it off though. Maybe our Wood Elf neighbors know something that could help us.

Its not about that, its about yields from a tree and how many you can stick inside. Fully grown rubber plants are like 15 metres tall or higher, with branches to match. Even if you magically increased their rubber yield to double, you would need an architectural marvel of a greenhouse to get what would be negligible amounts of rubber when you try to use it for province scale projects.

Even a tiny amount of rubber could be useful for say lining the wheels of our new vapor tanks or help with the suspension system. It's not like we're going to be pumping those vehicles out by the dozens after all so we wouldn't need as much when compared to Province sized projects. And even importing just enough coffee for just the engineers could be useful.

The thing is that Rubber properties of elasticity, being completely water-proof, capacity of creating airtight seals, and being an electrical insulator are so extremely useful for so many engineering projects that it is without a double one of the most useful industrial substances in the world.

So not taking the chance of getting some samples for testing in our engineering school and being opened to getting a regular supply of it, whether via locally producing it or by importing it from Ind is dumb.

One of the most important things in terms of finding a source of something is knowing it exists (and that it is useful) so, now Freddy has encountered rubber he can think about other ways to acquire it.

I doubt he can get the Indian rubber tree to grow (in a healthy manner at least) in Ostland, but they aren't the only source of Rubber, although they are one of the better sources (in terms of accessibility and quality, one of the plants we are looking into at the moment is the Russian Dandelion).

Also, who knows what trees grow in wood elf territory, who knows maybe they have rubber that can be traded for. Additionally, alchemists of whatever description might be able to figure out how to make their own if given enough time and motivation.

Seek and perhaps we will find... besides we probably don't need a large supply of Rubber at the moment (so buying in whatever small and expensive quantities we can get from Ind will probably satisfy our needs for now), it might be useful but we have made do before this.

Wrong. The rubber industry only exploded in first half of 19th century. Thats not the kind of tech that we can expect. I can kinda see it being useful for cyclers, and maybe tank tires. More the tank ones, there is gonna be too many cyclers for us to give them all rubber wheels.

Electricity is like, straight out. I don't deny that there could be some uses out of it, but nothing of import that we can't substitute for already. Its going to be a novelty item of moderate usefulness.

Do we even have the right climate for rubber trees in Ostland?
No, we don't. Greenhouses could be used to mitigate this, or maybe Jade Mages, or both, but i am just arguing that it would be nowhere near enough for province wide projects.

EDIT: not to mention, most of the uses of rubber that we have came in from tech trees that are far more recent than what we would normally see in quest proper. As i am given to understand, Steam tanks are about as high up as we can go for advanced tech.

Ok, 12 hours have passed so it should be vote time now.

I changed the vote slightly to include trying to grab a weapon or two from Ind and Arabtown on the off chance we might snag a piece of Indan Bloodsteel for examination. In the worst-case scenario it turns out to be heretical shit and we melt it down, in the best case, we get another piece of metallurgical knowledge.

Anyway, to restate what I said before in case somebody missed it, I don't really see the point of visiting Luigis town, according to the Warhammer wiki it's just more Tileans and we've already met some of those so I recommend visiting a different place.

Knife alley is not so named because that's where criminals hang out but rather so named because that's where the duel prone Estalians live. On a totally unrelated side note while trying to figure out what the hell bloodsteel actually is I accidentally found out the Ind people actually DO seem to have one supreme deity based on a wooden statue mentioned in the Ogre Kingdom 6th edition:

"Nevertheless, at least one of the thousand Indish gods, known as Brahmir and depicted with four arms, holds a particular horror for the worshippers of the Dark Gods."

Brahmir was obviously based on Brahma the Supreme Hindu creator deity who created all the other Hindu deities. So either he's a supreme deity in Ind or just a really powerful law god equivalent.

Why shipwright? Historically Japanese ships were nothing special...

I mean if you want forge masters, warrior monks, or other things in which Japan was famous like architectural woodwork I can get it, but why Shipbuilders?

Because according to Warhammer wiki Nippon has the best fleet in the world as far as humans are concerned...they just don't do anything with it...unless that's fanon but whatever new ideas are new ideas.

Edit: I altered the vote to say weaponsmiths and ship builders.

We already visited Wijnzak:
To be honest, the Wine Sack was entirely disappointing.

Maybe instead just "--[X] Visit any notable districts you didn't get to yesterday to complete the alcohol tour, look for anything that may attract your interest for trade, or just general interest."

We don't need any fancy swords and it's very unlikely we will find Evangeline, as she is doing her job right now.
