. First, off we share the design with the Altdorf College so its not lost and so they can also produce more Vapor Tanks in Empire and use it to fight against its many enemies.

no.....just no , we are not handing over the design of something our engineers slaved over for years just like that , I suggest instead that we leverage the design to further improve our tanks by trading the design with Nuln in exchange for all of the original steam tanks each of which is unique masterwork of engineering which we will then reverse engineer allowing us to leapfrog the vapor tanks by generations of advancement and refinement while also spreading the design of course then we use the credibility , desire and prestige of the new advanced designs again as leverage with the colleges of Altdorf and Nuln to set up a research agreement between the various collages were advancements and new discoveries are shared

What I would recommend is maybe writing a letter, as a elector count, to the arch lectors of sigmars about the witch hunters actions in regards to heart takers.

Okay, I can agree with a trade of technology at least. Altdorf and Nuln do have cool stuff like pistols and repeater crossbows now after all, and I'm sure they have other less common stuff we can make use of/take inspiration from.

I still want there to be another school that has designs so they aren't lost and cause they can build more tanks for Empire overall.

On the subject of Beast Paths while it is worrying that we did not find any herds this year, the fact remains that there are touches of Beastmen cunning which shows that some aspiring Beastman is probably planning something. I might go as so far to say it might not be related to Malagor at all and may just be a smart Gor waiting to raid a particularly valuable asset

*stares at updates trying to involve Cult of Manann more, the interactions between them and the Cult of Sigmar, bringing into question deific dominance and Cult-relations, then the fires afterwards*

Heh. Yeah. S'great. S'not stressful at all to write about.
I feel you here Torroar, it can be really hard to write things like that and deal with the inevitable blowback, but well all I can do is say that I really appreciate your effort to do so, and it's why I got kind of heated in regards to certain responses.

God knows how the hell the thread reacts to the first major character death in a while. It's coming sooner or later, and I just hope everybody takes it better.

Things don't have to be an eternal march of success, you know? Setbacks happen and all that, makes the successes mean more...

Rule 2: Don’t Be Hateful: Advocating for someone to be drawn and quartered is ITG behaviour.
If you want to see something with more atmosphere that gets across Frederick's rage and subtle and not so subtle threats so as to get the catharsis you would like?

I would recommend you write it.
She literally spent our whole life actively covering up the existence of our family's murderers.

Short of her falling to chaos herself, there is literally no greater crime she could have inflicted upon us.

No omake can fix this. She should have been drawn and quartered so she'd be gone from this quest and out of our life.

I regret missing the last round of votes, believe me.

It also has an Elven Archmage sitting on it who would probably destroy it rather than let him get his hands on it. Who knows how much magic it outputs with our friend sitting on it and using it?
Probably, but even then still a big win for the forces of chaos.

Assuming she can destroy it, which is a fairly big if.

+ Don't underestimate chaos, this bastard's been causing the wood elves and Ariel herself trouble since forever... no offense to our chum, but that doesn't give me a big well spring of confidence.

Morghur's been causing Ariel problems for forever, Malagor generally focuses more on the Empire. And I'm pretty sure he's younger.

Yeah, sure. And then, we would've lost one of the few high-ranking Witch Hunters who actually somewhat approves of our Pro-Mage Policies and Modernizations (or at least sees their Merits and doesn't dispute them) - not to mention someone who actually did a great Job as Intrigue-Advisor apart from that one Thing - and might've gotten a complete religious Nutjob instead who will constantly scheme to kill our entire Family for 'being tainted by Magic' and tell us even less about everything as her Replacement.
Just saying, there are good Reasons why we chose not to fire her.

It would be satisfying perhaps, but not as much as you might think. She'd been prepared to die.

And the chance of getting someone who is so pro-magic is disgustingly low.

You're assuming I want revenge when I want to prevent another cover-up, one that probably won't solve itself this time. If her mom had failed, what do you think would have happened? Again?

The tradeoff would have been worth it for her magic 'tolerance'. She clearly isn't actually in control of the Witch Hunters in practice, so it makes no difference to how they glare at our policies.

Doesn't change the Fact that a new Witch Hunter-Captain might've very well tried to sabotage all of our Efforts and then kill our entire Family out of religious Zealotry.

Nope, sorry, but keeping her is a far lower risk then replacing her.

Look, I think you're right, but the vote's over and done. Nothing to be done now.

To add my 2 cents on the whole Mannan thing, I don't see how it will be a big problem. We'll build some temples, give generous donations, maybe go on a pilgrimage or two and worst case scenario we have to go through a Mannan themed version of the penance Henry II did after he got St. Thomas Becket killed, and Henry survived with authority intact. We have over 15,000 prestige points, losing a few hundred isn't going to kill us.
I am getting a bit annoyed how some people flip out when the GM throws a political problem at us that we can't solve by just throwing money at it.
Exactly. I mean, after the radicals burnt our ships and we sent in the Witch Hunters, I expected for the Holders to be wiped out, sure. I did not expect the Witch Hunters to be as zealous and wipe out half the cult within Ostland but in hindsight that was stupid. Now the worshipers of Manaan distrust us and want recompense for good reason. Now we look like fools especially considering how the rest of the Empire dealt with the HotS rather well by letting the Manaanites handle it themselves.

It's simply a situation we handled poorly and now we have to pay the consequences, which i like because while Frederick will be known as one of the Greats of this era (atleast top five with Magnus), I like how he still has flaws. He over-reacts to problems, can be too stubborn for his own good, is uncouth and undiplomatic, and its a miracle his wrath hasnt gotten the better of him sooner. He made a call and now many innocent people payed the price. It makes him more human and believable as a person, rather than "Living Saint MC that excells at all they do" many quests become.

A lot of people have their opinions on Manaan, the cult, and the disaster that was the HotS, but when you get down to the brass tacks... we fucked up. Now we have to atone for what we've done if we want to at the very least save face for the legitimate grievances that we committed. Were we right to be angry, to want to make sure the guilty were punished? Yes. But events like this dont have a clear cut "Right Side = Wrong Side", only what happened. I know we can get past this, so long as we keep our heads and keep our tempers in check.

@torroar As always a wonderful update, and I eagerly look forward to the next one already! Despite the drama in this sub, know that I adore your work and many others do as well!

We also might want to think about constructing and sending a couple of Titan cannons to the Pass as well as some Vapor tanks when the time come for them to enter general production but that unfortunately will probably happen after the incoming waaagh.
