[X] Plan: We can afford the lighthouse, you know?

Changed my vote.

Tracking the beast-paths is important to me, and the plan itself has a lot of what I want in it.

I just don't see leaving the beast-paths alone doing us much good. It's clearly one of those actions we should keep taking for results, but it is constantly viewed as unimportant in comparison to equipping our army or attacking someone. More than beastmen use those paths you know? Greenskins, vampires, bandits, enemies. I don't want entry to Ostland to be that easy anymore.

Since I'm mostly OK with either of the leading plans as far as general options go, I'm only voting for the special options.
[X] The Expected Inquisition
[X] Be Sure
[X] Donating Funds
[X] Let Logan Go
[X] Name the Newborn: Anakos
-[X] Ask The Amber:
--[X] Yes, Ask Them.
-[X] Elven Expertise:
--[X] Laurelorn:
Yea, the only special bit I have is rejecting the currently popular names for the gryff' chick/kit.
Frankly, I find the current top picks laughably bad. So, I rearranged a bit the proud mother's name and got greek for thistle-head, which I find funny.

Pretty sure the special options are just counted as part of the larger plans people are voting for, so I don't know if you will get your vote counted if you vote like that @yannoshka

I'm pretty sure we have beast-paths covered for at least a little bit since we scouted it a little earlier and we have Longshanks along with Army of the Forest on standby.

Also, would love Lighthouse as well, but want to expand apples and seeding drills and maybe best to wait on making coastal upgrades until we track down zealots with out own.

Still want to vote for lighthouse, but I won't vote for anything with no tanks.

Guess I'm abstaining this one. or if it looks like the tank plan will lose I'll throw my weight behind that.

Probably not covered, the last time we took looking for Beast paths was Turn 33. We are at Turn 36. The wood elf mercs left us at the start of turn 36. That's 2, going on 3, years of not looking for those paths.

Kinda like how building more boats can mean never taking the action that gave us information from Albion. Ostland is already protected in ways that, apparently, make the action to seek out a potential opportunity unnecessary.

Freddy is abandoning Ostland to fight outside it's borders in Ostemark with his army as a whole, so it actually might be wise to close one more beast path this turn instead of waiting to do that.

I am of the opinion that we should pluck the low hanging fruit of the research options first for several reasons
-first the tank is long term 5 year project in that time we could be done with all the other projects
-second the tank option will net us a single tank in give or take 5 years posibley after the orks and beastmen have made their move while the cannon option gives a blanket improvement to our arty and the heavy blast option gives us a sourly needed light cavalry unit in less than 3 years it's just better action economy also the have a better chance of passing the DC

If we don't start on it at some point it will never get done.

And I would really to have new tanks for empire sooner rather than later.

You do the short term stuff alongside a long term option.

I don't see the appeal of the Lighthouse right now to be honest. It's more or less a vanity project to show off how awesome and rich Ostland is to build something like that, which is great and all, but I'd rather take the option that gives us immediate income and helps our fledgling Middle Mountains settlements develop economically.

Beside, we'll have three Stewardship actions next turn. We can start the Lighthouse then.

Omake: My last night in Marienburg

We were fresh from the sea
Our pockets full of money
When me and me maties
We headed for the bar
No sooner had we arrived
Then 1 pint turned to 5
And a lassie grabbed me by the belt and dragged me towards the stairs

Chorus:
Oh Mother, don't wake me, don't jostle or shake me
I spent all night drinking with the ladies by the shore
And if I never wake
Don't cry and don't shriek
Just sing the glorious tales of my last night in Marienburg

There were redheads there were blondes
Brunettes of which i'm fond
We'd ply them with cheap alcohol so they wouldn't leave our side
Before the night was through
We each had one or 2
And by midnight our young cabin boy had found himself a bride

Chorus

We drank 15 kegs of beer
Whiskeys from far and near
We ate up all their venison
We took down all their stew
And when we were run dry
We would not just stand by
A raiding party went next door to liberate more brew

ADVERTISING

Chorus

Things started to go queer
When Hans stole Johann's beer.
So he put his fist into Hans' face and started up a fight
Well, the brawl raged all aroun'
And we tore that tavern down
But we rescued all the kegs so we could drink all through the night!

Chorus

Now me head is sore and achy
Me bones are bruised and creaky
And I don't truly expect that I should live to see the light
So tell me girl in Lenkster
'till she dies I'll miss her
But in the morning if I'm living, I'll be back tomorrow night!

Chorus (at least twice)

The tank will get done, if not this turn then next turn. Too many people want it immediately because they see it as needed immediately. Without listing any of the benefits or the reason why now?

I'd rather get on the tank research next turn, so we can remove a two-turn action and a one-turn action in research, before going with the five turn action. Once we are restricted to only one research action, why would we ever take an action that lasts more than one turn unless it was the only action that took the least amount of turns to finish?

Nordland especially will need to focus their funds on recovering shipping and trade. Our charity is better spent with the seed drills which will improve food production throughout the Northern Trident and eventually throughout the Empire.

The Albionese tribes won't effectively be standing up to the Druchii or Fimir any time soon. Steel weapons will help but won't be the game changer we're hoping for. I'm for giving them steel weapons, but we should make some profit from it.

On the Inquisition, I'm just not comfortable with the Witch Hunters looking into the internal affairs of the other cults.

The profit option for the Seed Drills will also have that happen. Both choices for the Seed Drill will have the exact same immediate results. The only difference is that we'll be spending money that we don't have to be spending, since Nordland and Ostermark are not poor beggars that need Sugar Daddy Ostland to provide for them.

Has there been any conformation that Nordland has been especially hit hard by the attack? The CoS in the Sea of Claws is the same as it's been in the last few turns, and Nordland's naval power is still ranked as high.

No one is expecting the Albionese to be repelling the Druchii and and Fimir anytime soon. The point in extensively arming and training them is so they become more of a thorn in their side rather than them barely even being a speed bump as they are currently. And steel weapons will absolutely be a game changer for them. They don't even have iron weapons to fight their enemies with, just bronze and stone weapons.

Freddy is abandoning Ostland to fight outside it's borders in Ostemark with his army as a whole,
I was under the impression that Fredrick was only taking the Army of Ostland off on the expedition, while the Army of the Range and the Army of the Forest are staying behind. It does remove considerable martial might from the province, but it isn't like we are leaving it undefended.

I was also under the impression that Festermarsh won't be a full blown event like Karak Ungor or Laurelorn were. Going from the action description, it seems like it will be more akin to our involvement in Sylvania just before Karak Ungor than anything else.

My mistake, I misread things. On a reread it does look like the Army of Ostland is going while the Army of the Forest and Range stay behind.

The Army of the Forest and the Army of the Range have never been deployed outside of the province. They're pretty much professional militia with war machines and artillery, who cross-train and deploy alongside the Army of Ostland when the Army of Ostland is in-province and not out on campaign.

If there is ever a time when one or the other is deployed outside of the province, it would be under extreme circumstances and will be explicitly noted. And likely not going to happen without an explicit vote/action.
