Captain of the Four Knights
Poor Oskana. She's like a pet you have to sent to the Vet for a few weeks because you're going on vacation. Hopefully she'll forgive us later.
Asur Mist Mages are a thing, and the Sealord of Ulthuan Aislinn loves to use them and is damn good at it. And Aislinn is exactly the sort of person who lives for an opportunity to beat the shit out of the Dark Elves on his terms.Wouldn't the Druchii have the advantage in ambushing any Asur expedition given that they've had a few years to scope out the local waters and the whole "we have a floating mountain, fuck your treacherous reefs" thing?

Anyway, rather than throwing resources trying to hunt down a Black Ark, I'd rather we just alert our neighbours* and simply continue to expand our fleet and fortify our coastline until we get a better grip on the raider pressure(aiming for sub-50 DCs). I'm fine with arming the Albionese against the Druchii and Fimir though.
That said, Druchii raider pressure is suppressing Norscan raider pressure, so it's not entirely negative.
*and the Marienburgers/Bretonnians suppose.
If we get too many factions involved in the Albionese campaign, we're going to have a West/China Imperialism situation with a bad roll. Everyone is going to want a slice of the primitive pie with all the silver.
SWEET!They are on the other side of an ocean with the high elves in the way. there won't be any quick reinforcements that are not already using the ark as a base.
I see a few problems with this plan. First and foremost, due to the more or less constant rain, guns and gunpowder won't work in Albion.SWEET!
so quick plan smuggle weapons to the albions in epic amounts for them to fight tbe fimir and profit in sales, but hide cannons with all of the gear and build an outpost just to provoke the druchi to attack, when they do (cuz its what they do) unveil the cannons and wreck some shit (or build a cardboard fortress that looks impressive but is actualy a deathtrap/filled with blackpowder) hopefully they comit a non negligible amount of their forces there and have the asur sail out of the mist with doves flying around them like a john woo film and smash into the rear of the raiding force while tbe rest of the asur murderize the black arc.
!IT WILL BE EPIC!
WITH EXPLOSIONSSSSSSSSSS!
We of course being rational people will inform the freindly clan heads about the cannons so no accusations of invasion are bandied aboot
Hmmm...crossbows and Steel weapons in general then? Its time Ostland diversified a bit in the weapons trade. We do have the Street of Steel. Plus we have created some nice non gunpowder innovations as well.I see a few problems with this plan. Crossbows will probably be an easier sell anyway.I see a few problems with this plan. First and foremost, due to the more or less constant rain, guns and gunpowder won't work in Albion.
We make the outside of the fortress out of stone but inside is entirely wood and we smuggle oil instead of black powder, stupid mist ruining all the explosions.Hmmm...crossbows and Steel weapons in general then? Honestly, the biggest issue was, at this point, creating new casting molds, expanding and refurbishing the foundries. But that was done without issue, thanks to the newly opened real estate. Or would the word expanded be better? The lands opened up by expanding the city meant that a not inconsiderable amount of money for the project was spent buying a few buildings out entirely. By it's been done. You've had the Ironblaster for some time, and while the Gold Wizards examined it, nearby, your engineers and smiths worked on the first casting. Each individual Ironblaster is the prize weapon of entire tribes of ogres, and you can understand why. They're damned big! But by the end of this year, however, it has been done. One brand new Titan Cannon, fitted not just with some incredibly huge spheres of stone and iron for cannonballs, but with oddly fitted grapeshot. The latter, when loaded and stacked properly, fling themselves forward without causing undue damage to the inner portion of the barrel. Wheeling it about is a hell of a thing, and it requires an entire team to load it. For now, the Titan Cannon has been placed upon a large armor-plated wooden platform on a wheelbed. It takes four strong horses to pull it about, and they have to be moved about before firing. Unless one wants permanently deafened ones, at least. But oh, for all the expense…when it fires…oh yes. If you manage to fire a good Great Cannon shot, properly aimed at a mass of infantry? You can bounce it through their bodies pretty well. But one Titan Cannon shot can take out just…so many foes. It's incredible, but they'll be expensive as all hell to engineer and to craft the ammo and platforms foe. All things considered, however, it should be worth it. Reward: Titan Cannons, Ironblaster-sized properly maintained steel-based cannons. Requires 7 To Properly Crew/Load/Etc. +1 Titan Cannon Added To Army of Ostland Roster.
The Mist Mages were used during the Marienburg raid to generate mist, not to dispel it.Asur Mist Mages are a thing, and the Sealord of Ulthuan Aislinn loves to use them and is damn good at it. One of the reasons Albion uses bronze might be because bronze doesn't rust.Hmmm...crossbows and Steel weapons in general then? Its time Ostland diversified a bit in the weapons trade. We do have the Street of Steel. Plus we have created some nice non gunpowder innovations as well.
Steel properly treated and cared for can last a long time. Longer than it would take killing griblies to ruin it anyway. One of the reasons Albion uses bronze might be because bronze doesn't rust.

The most likely reason is probably Albion being a bog infested island doesnt have very good iron deposits that haven't rusted. Anything deep enough to still be good from the bogs is probably in Fimir hands.
You know I just remembered we dipped into Bronze cannonry to try and reduce strain and breakage. We are good there too. Keywords being properly treated and cared for.
The veil of fog(and the resulting British weather) kind of turned Albion into a shithole and regressed its society into a tribal backwater.
