Regarding the Prime Estates, they did actually come up in the thread previously - a bit before the Electors Meet where Freddy ended up being tested for Corruption and nearly burned to death - and were due to be discussed at it so it's probably something that we missed and no one bothered to tell Freddy about.

iirc they weren't in place previously (IC) because Magnus was still a relatively new Emperor and (OOC) because torroar forgot about them.

Magnus is in an odd state of 'Being beloved by the Empire in its near totality' and 'No Electoral official estates or related powers'.

He's not the Wissenland Elector Count, though considering it's him his personal estates are not inconsiderable anymore - and Wissenland's Elector Count largely follows what Magnus says.

People listen to him, he's got staggering charisma and strength of character enough to bring together the shattered Empire together after the sheer outright fucked state it was in during the previous era. And he keeps it together as well, with regular visits and travel across the Empire.

It's hard to protest and say 'oh that Magnus isn't all that' when he can just show up and talk you down and turn you around to his point of view.

Also he killed an Everchosen in single combat, so there's that too.

His concentrated support is tremendous and he is constantly reinforcing that by being, you know, him. He doesn't have to scrabble and reach for the approval of the Elector Counts like almost any other Emperor in the history of the Empire save for a handful - Sigmar himself, the Conquerer, etc.

So, at the moment, his political power equates to 'It's Magnus'.

And that is literally almost always more than enough.

except with magic related stuff

Because I am psychologically incapable of saying that they are active when at a moment's notice I might break down and stop updating entirely for weeks at a time.

I'll elaborate - I'm not at my best right now.

If I was in a better headspace - and living space - I'd bold them and feel confident enough to call them active. But I'm not, so they're not.

No, but how would that start a civil war?
Because, unless I'm missing something in what you're saying, you want foreign nationals as our head of state. Ignoring the fact that Kislev is heading for it's own civil war, the idea of a single faction suddenly allowing a foreigner to reign over the Empire would spark a civil war almost instantly. Especially since it would look like us selling out the Empire.

@torroar Where is Freddy on the sliding scale of the Empires heroes?

Cause you have said that he's pretty high up, obviously nothing compared to Magnus I mean he's Mangus the bleeding Pious, and the association with Magic gotta to hurt even post pseudo burning, but he must be high up there somewhere right?

Projects hugs.

Freuds and Raukovs are Ostlander noble families man.

They married together, and then one of them married Arthur.

Yes you missed everything I said. I only suggested we appoint someone from a friendly Ostland family like the Freuds to the Prime Estates.

I never suggested we make a foreign family emperor.

Have you been talking to anyone or getting some kinda help with whatever it is that is causing your emotional distress?

Sorry for prying but worried about you is all since this random depression can't be good for you.

I'm pretty sure Kattarin would stomp your face in for saying that :V

Up there.

The continual magic and foreign connections are a constant drain on regard held for him.

The continual gaining of prestige for his actions is a constant boost to regard held for him.

But the longer it goes on, the more the ratio skews. Not always in your favor.

Well, this current campaign has a lot of facebashing and religious relevation and very little new magical stuff, so we can hope for an upward shift once it becomes known.

Thats why I said being generous :D, though a unified Kislev Empire would be pretty intimidating, I mean add the size of europe and Russia together atleast... thats a lot a land mass :D.

Ah people, at least their fears a kinda justifiable.

Though one thing, if you are willing, to give your opinion on, where was canon warhammer empire was at.

I mean its something I was never quite certain off.

Were mages accepted, treated with fear, suspicion and misunderstanding, but not killed on sight, or were they still grab the pitch forks for the majority of people.

What about religion, people like the Grim wondering around, but was the empire slowly reaching its own version of the enlightenment... I can never tell...

@Dutch... any opinions on this?

I mean.

Spend...I don't know, a full 60 seconds on how a nation of extremely religious paranoid magic hating foreign distrusting people might regard the magic approving previously nonreligious drunkard man who shows almost no respect to anyone who married a foreigner with magic and has furthered more relations with a foreign magic loving nation.

And how it might look for him to disappear for over a year and then come out looking different, with thousands of his people dead, and a group of nonhuman people saying hey thanks for that thing you did - and if anyone tries to say oh but Empire/Dwarf blah blah I'll point you to the consistent dwarf pogroms that the Empire does - with a changed family and anything else found down there.

Then spend another 60 seconds on seeing just how bad that could sound and be regarded with minimal effort.

I guess the fact that we literally have runes of their sorta not really religion carved into our very flesh doesn't help matters.

Though out sweet necklace might, I mean look at all dem amulets :D.
