Warcraft: The Rise of the Mag'har

Admittedly yes but I was more going for anime style thing of friends/companions aiding a strike through the bond they share style thing only making it the nation.

Considering how much smarter and more human the Orcs are compared to Orks that does sound better, but could you imagine Orcs having there own WAAAGH field? The demons would be fucked.

Yeah sorry couldn't really phrase it right but just imagine the classic scene of the main character giving a speech to the villain about how they don't stand alone and transparent images of various minor characters who appeared in the series appear over them/behind them.

I know what you're talking about and it would work well with Dranosh since he is fighting for a better future for his people.

...

And here we have the silly shit.

Let me break this down for you; this is the World of Warcraft universe. If you have the option to use a magical weapon and you don't you're one of the stupidest creatures in existence and definitely shouldn't breed. It's bad for the universe when stupid people do so. Magical weapons and armor abound and the equipment that isn't enchanted in some form or other blows chunks; it ALWAYS HAS. EDIT: Even newly created gear that's any good comes with guess what? An enchantment straight from the forge.

Take it from someone who played the beta through level 80 on multiple characters; you don't use grey gear, you don't use white gear - you equip the best gear you can.

We can't see your "anime" effects whether they'd look cool or not. We have the OP's generally very awesome descriptions which I am more than happy with personally. This is not the Lion King where the ghosts of our ancestors look down on us from Pride Rock and channel their fury.

If we want to see and talk with our ancestors we don't need peyote; we wander over to Oshu'gun and sit down and have a chat. Let's keep things in genre.

I thought we've dabbled in Shamanism a bit?

We just trained into Blademastery even more.

Hmm, we'll have to socialize with Kaz and Greatmother Geyah some more in the future once we're a little less busy running things.
No we didn't dabble in shamanism. We just watched how greatmother Geyah did dipolmacy with others, who just happened to be shamans.

I don't want to become a shaman anyway. He's much more suited to be a blademaster than a shaman.

We also observed a minor ritual and seen people talk to the Furies from a distance too big to make out much details.

That fits the basic definition of having dabbled in something.

Granted, we are pretty much the lowest rung of novice imaginable but we know at least marginally more about spirits than the average (Human)Stormwind citizen(who may not be aware of what Shamanism even is).

No dabbling would be helping out with the rituals however minor.

And I am mistaken. We did take part in them actively. However we still don't know that much about it.

Success: 100%/50%/25% Rolled: 77.

- In preparation for your meeting with Velen, you went to the best orc available for advice. Greatmother Geyah held together the various orc clans and their disparate spiritual leaders and practices for years. If anyone knows how to be tactful, it would be the woman who has dealt with the conflicts and old grudges between Clans for a good long while. You are, as it turns out, utterly correct. She is perfectly happy to instruct you on the finer points of diplomacy. Couched as her knowledge is in spiritual matters you find yourself actually participating in a few shamanistic rituals, which both humbles you and simultaneously sparks some well-deserved pride in your breast. Reward: Piety and Diplomacy +2
Shouldn't we have gotten a plus 3 due to getting a 77?

Knowing about something and dabbling in something are two different things. Our character watched, he did nothing to "dabble" in Shamanism other than working to appease the spirits by dedicating resources and time to doing so. Read into it what you will, but frankly he hasn't even dipped a toe into being a shaman.

We arent a novice anymore then watching a mechanic do his thing from a distance makes you a novice.

The thing is we are moving in the direction of a Blademaster and they have been said to be sort of specialized shamans. We won't be a shaman when we have completed training but will have some similar abilities.

In the mechanic example we have visited the inside of a factory(of which we are a large shareholder) and saw people at work and have handed that friend who gave our bike a quick-fix by handing them their screws, wrenches and hammers when prompted while they fixed our bike for us.

If you don't think that's dabbling, then we have different definitions of dabbling.

I'm still not going to vote to be a shaman. I'm perfectly fine with being a blademaster.

Well technically there are variations ranging from being empowered by Fel magic or the Elements to simply being just that good (Grommash is an example of the last one before he ent demon)

Frankly Dranosh has neither the time nor the inclination to become a shaman in any case; he has a country to run, diplomacy to do, personal orc type things to do ... and he's already a blademaster. So ... yeah. It'd come down to a vote on what things to do this turn and I'm fairly sure that we're not going to vote to change focus from stuff that probably really needs to get done to spend a year or more training to become a shaman.

Dabbling would be if we fixed the bike ourselves.

Indeed it would.

Handing people tools and "helping" gets them charged extra - or it always did when I was building custom computers; if the client wanted to be there and interject themselves in my work which otherwise would take about an hour or so the hourly rate went up just because of general annoyance the customer caused me while I was trying to do my job.

I know my dad and my brother both charge extra for mechanic work where the idiot customer wants to help. Plus an annoyance fee if they decided to try and "fix" it themselves and caused even more problems. Generally it keeps the idiots from being stupid and tinkering with stuff if you charge them extra for what they fuck up that you have to go back and unfuck.

In mechanics terms you're a dabbler if you figure out by following the manual and actually get something to run YOURSELF. You have to either go to school or manage to pass your certification process / an apprenticeship and get certified to become a mechanic.

EDIT: Much like one would assume a shaman would be; you go and learn from the shamans or the furies or whatever then you can call yourself a shaman when they say you can.

Compleyely random but does anyone have any ideas about how the Sand Gnomes came to be since they are not native?

My idea is that a group of Gnomes that were apart of the Alliance expedition got seperated from everyone else and ended up later in the Bone Wastes where they had to hide underground in the sand to avoid the Fel Horde and other Demons coming out of Shadow Moon. Since the were in a desert, most likely low on supplies, and constantly under attack from Outlands natives they could not create or mantain any advanced technology that the race is known for so they devolved into a tribal state in order to survive. Instead they could only survive by making what primitive tools they could and raid those that travel the Bone Wastes in order to survive.

I have no idea if a enough time has pasted that the Gnomes have devolved yet so maybe there is a chance to contact and help them before they lose the ability to make advanced technology. Considering the Bone Chewers are walking around and we are taking steps to attack them maybe we can run into them.
