The Dreadlords saw the writing on wall when Arthas returned with news of the Legion's defeat in Kalimdor. So when they realized that the Lich King's control over the Scourge was weakening, they seized the opportunity before them. The Dreadlords seized control of a majority of the Scourge forces in the Eastern Kingdoms and working with Sylvanas nearly killed Arthas. The Drealords then turned on Sylvanas after she refused to join their new order. The Dreadlord's attempt to kill her failed and Varimathras was nearly killed and barely escaped. Meanwhile in the eastern parts of the former Kingdom of Lordareon, the Archlich Kel'Thuzad is marshaling what remains of the Lich King's armies and waiting for an opportunity to strike back. Now with the undead legions split among three factions, the question is who will emerge victorious in this new undead civil war and rule these new Plaguelands.
[]Dreadlord Insurgents: Currently the strongest faction in this new civil war. From Capital City the Dreadlords control numerous legions of undead and what demons remain in the Eastern Kingdoms. However despite this strength, the three brother's have found themselves with many fronts to fight. As well there exists the possibility of a new Alliance offensive in the Hillsbrad Foothills. The Dreadlord's however believe with their massive armies they will defeat all who oppose their new order.
[]Undead Scourge: The armies of the Lich King are a shadow of what they once were. Under the leadership of the loyal lich Kel'Thuzad they have retained control of most of the Eastern Plaguelands and part of the former High Elven kingdom. With what forces under his command including the Cult of the Damned and his undead forces led by Liches and Death Knight's, Kel'Thuzad shall rebuild the Scourge, retake the Plaguelands and crush all those who would dare oppose the Lich King.
