Y/N?
You frown. Why does that look familiar? It's just red text floating there. Floating in this black void all around you.
Without really thinking, you press Y.
Create new character?
You press the option, and it shows you several characters. A gray figure that seems undefined, a man in heavy black armor wielding two large slabs of metal that seem to act as shields and something to crush people between, and a woman dressed in plate and chain armor with a pair of spears.

-[ ] Name:
-[ ] Appearance:
-[ ] Traits: (Choose 3 Traits)
Traits are things that describe your character. Are they stronger than most people? Do they wield the sword of the gods? Are they last heir to an ancient line? You decide. Traits are both Positive and Negative, and split into four categories. Some traits have prerequisites.
Innate: These are natural abilities of your character, representing being stronger, faster, more perceptive, or many other things. Some of these may be gained by embarking on rigorous training that stretches the body or mind, but others are properties you had since birth, and may not be gained in the course of play.
Positive Traits:
Ambiguous Gender (Innate): Observers cannot determine your true gender. Clothing may point them in one way or another.
Sturdy (Innate): You are grounded and stable. You are able to take more damage than most, and you are easily able to ignore effects that would knock you back or into the ground.
Monstrous Strength (Innate): Your strength exceeds that of mere humans. Superhumans are another story.
Free Runner (Innate): You are agile and speedy, able to get nearly anywhere, no matter the obstacles in your path. You run, jump, and climb your way to victory.
Youthful Beauty (Innate): You look like a beautiful young man or woman, bright eyed, cheery, and innocent.
Beauty is Never Tarnished (Innate): No matter how beat up or injured you are, your beauty will never be reduced. Requires a trait relating to beauty.
Bloodhound's Nose (Innate): You are an incredibly skilled investigator, able to track enemies by loose scraps of clothing or dried blood stains.
Emotionless Facade: Your dull stare, emotionless eyes, and toneless voice make it almost impossible to tell what you are thinking, as well as being vaguely intimidating.
Artifact: These are weapons and items of great power, held usually by heroes of some renown. They never break, and are bonded with you, growing stronger as you do the same. Artifacts do not initially provide any benefit outside their use as weapons or tools, but gain a single GM chosen trait for every 2 Traits you gain during the course of play, up to a maximum of 3 Traits per Artifact. You gain more of these by acquiring them from other people, and you may not take more than 1 Artifact at char creation.
The Lion's Spear (Artifact): An imitation of the weapon of an ancient legend. The Lion Knight fought against enormous beasts, and struck them down one by one, and this spear was made to do the same. Can the imitation outdo the original?
The Greatsword (Artifact): An enormous weapon, six feet long and half that wide, and so heavy that it can only be used by the strongest of men. A primal power lurks in it's metal. Requires Monstrous Strength Trait to wield.
The Crushing Greatshields (Artifact): A pair of shields engraved with a love poem that is only complete when the shields are placed together. These shields are used by the Imperial Knights of Bastion, who playfully crush their foes to death.
Fianna's Twinspears (Artifact): A pair of spears used by knights who remember an ancient tale of regret. The second spear is shorter than the first, but it's blade is longer, and is used for it's slashing attacks as well as it's stabs.
Supernatural: You or your bloodline have been blessed by a being of the higher realms, be it a god, a demon, or something else, and are now endowed with supernatural power. You gain more of these by performing acts that would make gods notice you.
Favor of the Winds (Supernatural): You have attracted the love of the wind goddesses, who watch the worlds from their clouds. Their winds now protect and aide you, bolstering your steps and attacks.
Lightning Caller: Having gained the approval of the Storm Gods, you may call upon their brilliant power to send their iconic spears at enemies.
Fire-blooded: Your family tree is composed partly of Elementals of flame, and their primal power courses through your blood, literally. When you bleed, things tend to burn.
Water Dweller: You are a creature of the sea, and the sea is a part of you. You breathe it like you do air, are never hindered by it, and you heal faster in it.
The Traits shown here are not the sum total of all traits. If you wish to, you may create your own.
[ ] Imperious Crushing Wall
-[ ]: A man in heavy armor, wielding two large shields which are actually the split apart remains of one enormous greatshield. Can crush a man easily between his shields, but is slow.

You know how to kill small animals with your teeth.

You finalize your options, and press finish.
Is this character acceptable?
Y/N
"Yes," you say, and suddenly your voice changes from an unrecognizably generic voice to the voice of a young woman.
You look down at yourself, and see your body suddenly gain definition and shape, before being clothed in a simple green tunic and brown pants. You curl your lips into a frown at how plain and ordinary they are, and resolve to get better clothing later.
"Yes." You say. Typically in things like this, tutorials offer some reward in exchange for having you suffer through them.
You try not to think about the fact that you've apparently done something like that before, despite the fact that your memories started about 10 minutes ago.
Instead, you focus on the new text appearing.
Walk by moving your legs.
A red light appears on the floor.
Please walk here.
You sigh, and do so. This may take a while.
----
You regret taking the tutorial. It's like it assumes you had no idea how to move your body, despite it being literally instinct for you.
Then it went on to show you how to use your inventory and check item descriptions.
Still, now you've gotten to the funner parts of the tutorial.
You're standing in an endless field of wheat. In the distance, you can see what looks to be a farm house. It appears to be on fire.
In front of you is yellow text.
New Quest: Poor Tutorial Farmers!
Complete one or all of the following:
-Save the farmers from the bandits.
-Take all the money of the bandits.
-Convince the bandit chief to stop being a bandit.
You dismiss the screen, noticing that it lingers in the side of your vision, noticeable only when you look for it.
You walk to the farm, and see a trio of men in leather armor wielding swords and menacing a pair of old people.
What will you do?
[ ] Initiate Hostilities.
[ ] Something else.
"Hey!" You shout at the bandits. They all stop, and turn to face you, moving in lockstep. All their breathing is synched up in a rather unsettling manner. Like they're machines rather than people. Obviously, they don't have very good AI.
... What's an AI?
"What is it you want, person?" That sounded prerecorded, you note. You then also note that you don't actually know how a person would sound prerecorded, but it does. "Move on, and don't look back. Or else." They wave their swords threateningly.
You just realized that you decided to talk to them, but you don't know what to say now.
What will you say?
[ ] Insult
[ ] Bribe
[ ] Threaten
[ ] Flirt
[ ] Initiate Hostilities
[ ] Something Else
