Several inches of snow blanketed the arena's floor, heavy clouds blocking the artificial sun's rays as the opponent before her gave another wave of its arm. Once more, a blizzard appeared before it's frame. A mighty 'HEE HO!' reverberated across the arena and soon swathed her within its icy maws, her skin searing from the sheer cold that would have killed any lesser human. But she wasn't a lesser human! She was a Huntress, she was Ruby-
Ruby's mind halted to a stop as she felt another Bufula hit her face, the ice forming over her entire body as she tried to struggle away, her aura flaring as she broke through it. Her foot was stuck within the blankets of snow and sleet, and she felt utterly exhausted, her teeth clattering from the sub zero temperatures. She had been fighting this thing for over an hour, and her Aura was waning. If she didn't kill this demon right now, she was going to die. She would let everyone down, and she'd fail. With a shuddering breath that stabbed her lungs from the low temperature, Ruby lifted her Crescent Rose-its barrel aimed directly at the smug Jack Frost's face as it jumped and danced into the air. Pausing for breath, Ruby counted. It took six seconds for Jack Frost's to pull off another mid-tier spell like Bufula, and given the time frame, she had just a moment left. Switching the cartridge within a carousel inside to that of the fire dust selection, Ruby pulled the trigger as Jack Frost punched the air in her general direction.
"Hee HO!" The Jack Frost cried out happily before Ruby's bullet soared through the frozen air, cutting through the initial onslaught of the spell before the bullet froze in midair.
Ruby squeaked before ducking, uncaring for the hard sleet below as she narrowly dodged the spell, the air rushing past her back before an explosion of ice rumbled behind her.
"Come hee on-ho! You're so boring hee ho!" The Jack Frost complained before it quickly began running towards Ruby, its steps easily traversing across the unsteady floor. Ruby's eyes widened as she tried to go onto her knees, but her foot was still stuck!
Giving a brief huff of her breath, she quickly took out the stupid, standard issue bland pistol from her skirt pocket and shot it at the ice. As a sniper, she only needed one shot to free herself before she dived away from the snowman's punch. Rolling away and hissing from the cold, Ruby stood up before aiming Crescent Rose once more at it. She let her teammates down, but she wouldn't let the demon be free to hurt others anymore. She shot more the flame bullets before her Aura flared once more as she soon became a missile of rose petals, her form flying across the arena as crimson bullets erupted from the petals.
The Jack Frost hissed, its form melting from the amount of flames that kept licking his body, but it didn't go out.
"Come hee h-on! I'm Jack Frost the Magnificent!" The demon bellowed before it danced, and with a huff, it exhaled a frosty breath. From the hit of the breath, the target area turned to pure ice before the Frost moved, trying to follow the accelerated Ruby as she stopped before jumping to the ceiling. With her soles briefly touching the ceiling, Ruby used the momentum to push away from it as she pressed the mechanism of Crescent Rose. Within an instant, her beloved weapon turned into an over-sized scythe, its blade gleaming with red hot steel as she roared before cleaving downward at the Jack Frost.
"Hee HO!" The Jack Frost shut its mouth before easily dodged the blade, winding its arm quickly and aimed at Ruby's vulnerable side. She let out a cry of pain before the Jack Frost began to wind up its arm again, yet it was for naught as Ruby grinned before unsheathing the pistol from her holster and pulled. At point blank range, the Jack frost gave a cry of pain itself as Ruby was able to get a hold of her footing, holding Crescent Rose with a tight grip before slashing upwards at the Frost, its searing heat melting the snow at her feet.
"You missed-ho!" The demon cheerfully called out as the scythe missed the Frost, yet Ruby smiled as she quickly steadied the base of her blade, its top aimed directly at the Jack Frost's head as the Frost looked down at the barrel of the scythe-gun.
"Die Demon!" Ruby proclaimed with a smile before shooting a Fire dust bullet once more, her body flying backwards as the bullet hit the Jack Frost dead center upon its forehead. Her body crumpled into the snow as her opponent began to melt, looking at its hands with a forlorn look.
"Hee...Ho…?" Jack Frost weakly said before shattering into pixels that crumbled to the ground, sinking into the snow.
Right then and there, Ruby let her head hit the snow once more and sighed-her cheeks flushed from the cold and embarrassment as she heard the cheer's in her ear piece. Looking at the scroll on her arm, Ruby gave a giggle-she just barely won out against the Jack Frost, and in such a clean ending too! She kept giggling as the Virtual Trainer's simulation broke down, revealing the arena she was in was instead a blackened cube that surrounded her and was as large as three bullheads tall and long. It was one of the cheaper simulations too from what she heard Qrow complain about. Shaking her head, Ruby stood up as she walked to the exit before she was suddenly swamped by her fellow Huntsmen-in-training and heavily blushed as they came out from the observation room.
"Ruby! You finally killed it!" "You were able to solo it for so long, I thought you would have failed!" Ruby could only blush and fiddle with her bangs at the attention. It was only a simulation after all, and it wasn't even against a hard demon either-that one was just a more powerful Jack Frost!
Within moments, Ruby felt a clipboard bop her head, and with another squeak she shrunk against her instructor's look-his emerald green gaze staring into her silver eyes. With a smile and a shake of his head, Professor Torchwick gave another glance at the clipboard before throwing it behind him.
"Well squirts, you all passed, barely, thanks to Red here." Torchwick rolled his eyes as he crossed his arms. Damn brats, this was supposed to be the hardest difficulty for their caliber too, and he expected them to all have failed. Great-now they'll be wanting to do the graduation course with the inflated egos.
For Ruby, the cheering made her shrink once more as she tried to avoid Crescent Rose from poking anybody, walking through the swarm of students as she continually apologized whilst walking towards the community lockers, not letting her fatigue show on her face.
From the distance she could hear the weirdly dressed professor dismiss everyone, and Ruby was quick to head out. Ruby didn't know why, but although she won against the hard difficulty Jack Frost, she felt...empty. She couldn't feel pride in the victory, not when it didn't matter. At the moment, she was solely intent on killing it, but afterwards? Ruby could only sigh as she grabbed her belongings, bringing her red hood up to cover her face. Signal was an amazing academy, with wonderful professors here to cultivate young trainees into Huntsman.
Yet it all seemed so..hollow. The test today was all what they had to do, but one could stay behind and train more with a professor and the Virtual Trainer. As always, Ruby walked home, feeling her stomach curdle and her mind flare as she remembered.
"Qrow, take them both to Vale! Now!" Taiyang commanded as he pushed his daughters into their uncle's arms, the father's gaze looking beyond their home's property as the grass and dirt withered and blackened, the sound of galloping coming from beyond the forest.
"Tai, where the hell do you-?" Qrow tried to protest but was promptly yelled at.
"They can't die! I don't care about myself! Just keep them safe-ask for Glynda!" Taiyang pleaded as their house collapsed into timber, multiple forms hidden in shadow and illuminated by a ghostly blue fire that emanated from their steeds.
The Wild Hunt.
Ruby didn't remember much after that moment, where she and Yang had to be separated from their father that night. What she did remember was the drop in temperature-not that of a Jack Frost's Bufu spell, but that of the air itself dying around them.
There was more yelling, her younger self crying aloud as Qrow ran with her and Yang in his arms. They left Taiyang as he brought his weapon in front of him, and charged at the demons.
They ran to the Kingdom of Vale, running day and night as Qrow ran until they were at the walls. Her uncle collapsed in exhaustion once they saw the patrolling Hunters and their partners, slipping into a coma from the lack of sleep and the after effects of the overutilization of the Magnetite in his body to supplement his depleted Aura.
Ruby shook her head. She hated remembering it, especially after every victory she had against a virtual demon. It was all pointless, wasn't it? Until she went out and actually started to kill them, she'd...
Ruby blinked as her body bumped into the doorway of the apartment, before finding the key in her pocket and unlocking the door. Like usual, the apartment was empty of any tenants. Sighing, Ruby turned the lights on before closing the door behind her, shuffling towards her room as she threw her bag inside before hopping into bed.
"Oh? How was your day? Its been fine-I killed a Jack Frost today." Ruby mumbled to herself, imagining when Qrow would come back home. She tugged the blankets around her, feeling helpless, alone. Yang went off to Vacuo to do the demon grafting program at Shade Academy, having graduated from Signal a while ago. For Qrow, he was off on a mission, or asleep at a bar again. In all, she was alone.
With the fatigue and her depleted reserves of Aura, in addition to the warmth surrounding her form, it didn't take long for Ruby to let her eyes close and fall asleep. Within her mind, she dreamt of vivid fantasies once more. Fighting against powerful demons, with Crescent Rose by her side and an army of demons at her beck and call, Ruby ran to the armies of Light and Evil.
It was a stupid dream of hers; to want to break the Eternal Stalemate, to let the armistice between the kingdoms become true peace. She didn't have the power…
"Would you like to? Have the power I mean." A soft and sophisticated voice echoed in her dream, causing the armies and bloodied battlefield to dissipate into blue wisps of smoke as her surroundings turned into an otherworldly shade of blue.
What?
"The power. Would you like to have it? I've been giving my program away to many warriors that have the aptitude."
What made her so special? She was only 15-she didn't have power. Sure she was number one in Signal, but in the grand scheme of things? She nearly 'died' to a Jack Frost! Any Huntsman would have utilized a flame bullet and killed it before they could have done any magic! Hunters especially, no questions asked.
"That may be, but you have a quality unlike anyone I have ever seen before."
A quality?
"Silver eyes. You have silver eyes my dear, and in your world it is the mark of a great warrior. Perhaps you are the one that this world needs, or perhaps you are merely a stepping stone to free your world. Any conjecture can come to mind, but I can give you the power to make your fantasies...a reality."
Ruby looked around before she saw him-a man with a red suit and sitting upon a wheelchair.
Scrunching her brow, she took a step back from him, unsure of who he was.
For a brief moment the man smiled before his wheelchair grew closer to her, his hands typing away at a small terminal at his side.
"Now, I'll send this to your arm terminal." He chuckled as Ruby gave him a confused look before clutching her scroll that was attached to her arm. The man shook his head in apology.
"Excuse me-it is simply nostalgic to see such devices." With a final click on his keyboard, he nodded.
"Congratulations Ruby Rose, you have my wonderful 'Demon Summoning Program.' I hope you put it to good use." The man smiled before Ruby blinked at him before pointing at the mysterious man.
"Who are you? And how do you know my name? Are you a demon?" Her inquiries made his eyes widen in surprise before he shook his head.
"Pardon me. My name is….." His voice was garbled, as if a scroll transmission was being interrupted, or something was being scratched.
"I cannot stay here long, but I wish you good luck Miss Rose. Be careful, but I hope we will meet again." The man smiled before the dream began to collapse, leaving Ruby dumbstruck.
"Wait! How do you know my name?!" She called out to the man, but it was a fruitless effort as the blue area shaped itself to white, before she heard it.
The galloping of the Wild Hunt.
"AAAAAAAAAAAH!" Ruby screamed as she sat up on her bed, sweat covering her body as she frantically looked around, her form trembling as the memories of that night began to dance in her head again.
"It's not real….it wasn't real…" Ruby mumbled before sighing-wiping away the sweat from her brow before getting out of the bed. She needed to eat something, her stomach felt empty after the sheer exertion from today.
Grumbling to herself, Ruby dragged herself to the kitchen and to the pantry, grabbing some several of her comfort cookies into her arm. Nibbling on a cookie, she looked around the rest of the apartment, and pouted. Great...if she wasn't alone, she was bored. Finishing a cookie and putting another into her mouth, Ruby let her eyes gaze at the Scroll on her arm before grinning. Since Qrow wasn't here, he surely wouldn't mind if she connected to the CCT and watched some of the weapons videos on his Hunter's account. With a smile she activated her scroll, before a red warning sign was seen across its interface.
"Third Party App?" Ruby muttered before pressing on the notification button, before the app opened up. Demon Summoning-?!
"The dream was real?!" Ruby gave a yell as she thrusted her arm away from herself, fearfully looking at the scroll as if it was a demon. "The old guy...he actually did this?"
Slowly bringing her arm back, Ruby looked at the app with a curious gaze. Demon Summoning-was this able to...summon demons? Was it that easy?
Right there, on the app, was a selection that asked 'Summon Minion?,' and it made Ruby wary. What if she accidentally summoned a super strong one, and was the cause for the collapse of Vale? Wait, she was in the Hunter district-there were enough Huntsmen and Hunters to quell any demon that snuck through here. But what if she summoned one of the Tribute Demons? What if she summoned Thor?!
In indecisiveness, Ruby pressed the button….and nothing happened. Looking at the blinking screen, Ruby frowned at her brief moment of paranoia.
0/8 In Stock.
"Oh. I, need to go out and capture them I guess?" Ruby made a face before laughing to herself. She had worried for nothing!
Wait…
"If I can capture and summon demons...I can be a Hunter!"
Hunter-a class above that of a Huntsman. They were the elite force of their respective kingdom and were some of the only humans and Faunus that are able to contract with some of the stronger demons.
Her Uncle Qrow technically fit the bill, but that was because of his sheer strength and his service to Vale rather than his demon.
But she could be one, and perhaps...she could actually-
At that moment, the door was blasted open, causing Ruby to jump, as a stumbling Qrow waltz inside, his form holding no grace as he collapsed on the couch.
"What do you get with a drunken…'lo Ruby…" Qrow waved drunkenly at his niece before turning his head into the cushion before letting out a muffled yell.
"Hey Uncle Qrow." Ruby sighed whilst waving at his now sleeping form as she looked at the so-called 'Demon Compendium' option.
If she wanted to be a Hunter, she would have to start off knowing how this app worked, so that looked promising.
Messiah. That was what several Mistralians called her. A savior against the Grimm and Demons. Born from the combined genes of past heroes and warriors of Mistral, cultivated within a test tube of liquid magnetite, and injected into the womb of a woman that had won a tournament in the Coliseum of Elysium. From the first minute of her conception, Pyrrha Nikos was deemed the Savior of Remnant by her creators.
This young woman, having faced hardships by that blasted organization and put through trials that no Huntsman or Hunter would have faced.
From looking at her downtrodden expression, he saw that she hated it.
Leonardo Lionheart placed the resume back onto his desk before looking to his number one student and sighed. "Miss Nikos. This program that you're asking of me, it's meant for Huntsmen double your age, with ten times the experience. Why do you want to leave Haven?" The academy here was safe, surrounded by old and wizened Huntsmen who lived long enough to retire and the hundreds of students that walked through its halls. Barring Atlas and their abominable Capability Armour, Haven Academy was the safest place in all of Remnant for anyone! No demons, Grimm, or any assaults! Why would anyone want to leave here?
"Headmaster...I want another perspective. I can't sit here and keep fighting simulated Mothmans. If I want to fulfill my role, I need to go outside the Kingdom. My community said it was alright for me to do so." Pyrrha tried to persuade him, lacking any of the confidence she had in tournaments. There was another goal in mind, and the fact that the cult allowed her to do so spoke volumes of her true intentions. Lionheart could only exhale as he saw through her practical and theoretical scores, observing how she could best even the highest difficulty of the simulations, identify demons within moments and identify their weaknesses, and was even able to withstand an assault from an older Hunter as training. She was, by all means, perfect to go outside the kingdom, and would more than likely survive anything that could happen.
Leon Lionheart wanted to inquire further, but stopped as he felt the familiar dread that arched across his being. Taking a breath, he saw the councilwoman make her appearance, strutting across his office as if she owned it. He looked down, and felt his hands tremble. Why was she here?
Councilwoman Salem could only smile at the now milquetoast Headmaster before she stepped next to Pyrrha. "Come now Lionheart, there's nothing wrong with letting your student go out and explore the world, to save lives and expand her following. How else will Remnant know of their Messiah if she was kept here under lock and key?" Her crimson eyes bored themselves through Leon's before he quickly nodded.
"Of course. I was simply curious as to why, but that wouldn't be necessary now. Miss Nikos, you have my full permission to leave the kingdom and come back as you please. Further information will be sent to your scroll." With a surprised look at the Headmaster and to Salem, Pyrrha nodded.
"Thank you so much, Headmaster, Miss Salem." Bowing her head to both, Pyrrha made to leave before Salem put a hand atop her shoulder.
"Miss Nikos. Before you go, do remember that your parents were quite explicit in wanting to know your location at all times, so make sure to never shut off your scroll. Is that clear?" Salem whispered into her ear with a sickly sweet tone, causing Pyrrha to fidget and nod. Moving away, Salem shooed her off.
"Now go. Show the world of your existence as the Messiah." With a smile, Salem turned to the headmaster, leaving Pyrrha free to go.
Quickly walking out of the room, Pyrrha could only let herself breathe freely until she was meters away from the office. Oh, she hated it all. She hated Salem, Lionheart. All of them. She didn't dare show her true feelings to them, but she despised them all.
Clutching the tubes that lined her front, Pyrrha looked around for anyone. Luckily, given that it was mid-morning, everyone was in classes or out on missions on this floor. With a small smile, Pyrrha aimed the tube downwards, and with a gentle application of her aura, it opened as blue electricity sparked from its opened tray. Instantly, a bolt of lightning struck the floor to reveal the small form of Moh Shuvuu, her wings expanding before she took flight. With her newfound freedom, Moh Shuvuu giggled as she gently levitated up to Pyrrha's eyes, her head tilting.
"What's wrong Pyrrha? Did those good for nothing humans rile you up again." The raptor's face grew angered as she frowned. With a giggle, Pyrrha only shook her head.
"That's not it. I just want company. I'm actually happy-I was able to get permission to leave!" With an ecstatic look to her demon, Pyrrha could only laugh at how stupid it seemed.
"Really? You're able to leave this dumb place? Amazing! What are you waiting for? Come on!" Moh Shuvuu tugged at Pyrrha's arm, motioning for her to move towards a nearby window.
With wide eyes, Pyrrha immediately shook her head. "Why the window? We'll break it and-" Pyrrha tried to deny her demon's pleading look before she heard her scroll ping. Focusing away from the raptor sticking her tongue at her, Pyrrha saw that there was some trouble at the Eastern Gate. An Eligor broke through the main line of Grimm, and was galloping towards their secondary defenses. Scrolling down at the message, Pyrrha bit the inside of her cheek. Setting her arm down, Pyrrha gave Moh Shuvuu an apologetic look.
"I'm sorry." The raptor girl could only sigh before she pouted, letting Pyrrha return her back into the summoning tube. An Eligor by itself could spell trouble for the eastern sectors, and the last time a demon of its caliber was able to break through…
Pyrrha didn't let her mind settle on the historical tragedy, and instead jumped through the window, uncaring for the several hundred foot drop below.
"You can't be serious. A Dis? What are you, some kind of freak?" Cardin Winchester slapped his partner upside the head, huffing at his answer.
Jaune Arc could only wince at the hit before he tried to explain himself, his eyes frantically looking around in sheer fear. "What's wrong with them? I heard they were powerful, and they're incredibly nice if you're not a demon Hunter." Jaune reasoned with him, only to be rebuked with a picture of an Asparas from his scroll.
"Jauney boy, as a man you have to tell me-are you or are you not attracted by this?" Cardin's gaze grew steely, his face judgmental as he raised his other hand in warning. "If you say you aren't, I'm going to hit you."
Jaune could only frown but nodded anyways. "Of course I am! But, they're demons! You can't be serious on this." In response, Cardin could only preen at the comment.
"My great great grandfather Anthony Winchester, peace be his soul, managed to get with a Succubus before he died. Do you know how bloody difficult it was during that time? To get laid like that, with a demon?!" Cardin spread his arms out as if he was delivering a divine revelation, that humans and demons were able to lay with each other.
"Cardin...they'll rip your heart out if you try to…" Jaune weakly protested as he and Cardin walked through a swamp. Maybe his partner grew crazy from the humidity-after all he was wearing that much armor so casually and holding both of their bags.
Cardin shook his head, and like that Jaune wanted to place his head on the ground and wonder why. Why was he having a discussion? He just commented that a Pixie looked cute earlier!
"Doesn't matter. In my book, it's all worth it." With a self-satisfied smirk, Cardin gave a nod before he gave a look at his scroll. Jaune bit his tongue, preventing himself from asking if there were any nearby demons. The Pixie from earlier happily gave them directions to the nearest town, but warned that it was a Tribute town. Hearing that, Jaune had to prevent himself from crying at the mention of it.
"Hmm, we're safe for another mile-just more Pixies and the occasional Slime, but at the edge of the map I see a really big demon. Either that's the town's Tribute Demon, or we're fucked." Cardin commented as his eyes looked away from the map and at Jaune.
"Are you sure you're equipped to defend yourself if it's one of those?" Cardin gave a critical look at Jaune's sword and shield, with a singular summoning tube that stuck out of his pocket.
Really, what Hunter went out and only had a single demon on their person? Cardin thought the more powerful ones would have had enough to create a small platoon of demons, at least that was what his father told him.
"You know, I could always give you Mokoi-he's pretty friendly and you'd be stronger with two demons at your side." Cardin offered as Jaune shook his head. Cardin hid the small fanboyish voice in his mind as he let Jaune take the lead, unfazed at the rejection. A real life Hunter, by his side of all people. Cardin couldn't believe it, but he understood why he was so meek.
The poor guy really was shaken from the previous week's mission-Jaune told him that he went to save a village from a powerful demon, and completely annihilated it. However, it was at the expense of the entire village. Any one would have been shaken up by the failure, yet Cardin felt at ease. If push came to shove, he knew that Jaune would be there to destroy any threat.
Suddenly, Cardin received a warning from the arm scroll before looking down at the message. A message? Either this was a wide spread SOS, or his father wanted to talk.
"Mistral? Holy shit where are we." Cardin laughed as he looked at the message, before his eyes widened. An Eligor? Then that thing a mile away was-
"Jaune! That stupid Pixie-we aren't going to a town! Mistral is ahead!" Immediately he began to run, picking up Jaune as he looked at the map at his position and that of the Eligor's.
"Cardin?! What are you doing!" Jaune cried out in surprise, his legs flailing about atop of Cardin's shoulder.
"Eligor is trying to break through Mistral apparently. Come on! Let's show those gene-freaks that us normal Humans are good enough to fight their enemies." With a grin, Cardin ran through the swamp, his aura flaring over his body as he ran through the murky water without resistance. The perks of his Semblance, of which Cardin was thankful for.
Looking at the Hunter on his shoulder, he rolled his eyes as Jaune began to review the Eligor's information. That was admirable, but why with a civilian Scroll? Maybe it broke during his mission?
Running through the trees, vines and the sticky water, Cardin's feet finally stepped onto hard ground. As the two broke through the tree line, Cardin caught sight of the enormous walls of Mistral, and the shattered line of Grimm. The Eligor...was staring right at them.
"Oh shit. Jaune!" Cardin threw himself away to the side, throwing Jaune further away as an enormous firestorm of the Agilao erupted from their previous position. Quickly going to his shoulder, Cardin grabbed the summoning tube and pointed it at the demon, his gaze burning at the hellish knight.
In a roar of thunder, a small green figure appeared, a boomerang in its hand.
"ah, why am i here?" The Mokoi sulked before Cardin frowned at the lazy demon.
"Jaune, get ready. I think we're soloing the thing." Standing up, he took out his mace before pointing it at the Eligor's direction.
Jaune groaned before getting back up to his feet, his hands fumbling for the summoning tube in his pocket. They were going to fight, right now?!
"Let's go Jauney boy-" Cardin called out before, in an instant, the Eligor appeared before them.
"Filthy humans-I can sense the presence of Law on your beings!" It roared out in anger before it brought down its lance upon Cardin.
NO!
In desperation. Jaune threw his shield at the demon as the lance's tip nearly bisected the Huntsman, yet the weapon was redirected to swat away the shield. With burning red eyes, the Eligor roared as fire bellowed from beneath its steed's hooves in preparation for another firestorm.
With a terrified shriek, Jaune closed his eyes and threw the summoning tube up as a thunderous explosion was tube fell to the ground, inactive as Jaune opened his eyes. In front of him was a familiar red back of an Oni.
"Who are you?" The Eligor questioned the newcomer, before his helm was pelted with bullets. Neighing, the demon's horse began galloping away from the onslaught-its form revealing the newcomer to be a red haired woman, with emerald green eyes peering through her eyeglasses and gold armor strapped to her body. Next to her on one side was a Moh Shuvuu, and on her other was a High Pixie.
"The Messiah is here." The woman's tone came off as sarcastic, yet mournful as her free hand materialized snowflakes-the preparation of a Bufu spell.
"Magic-?!" The Eligor twirled its lance before focusing on the so-called Messiah, ignoring both Jaune and Cardin.
"Don't just ignore me!" Cardin roared before bringing up a pistol, shooting ice dust bullets towards the demon's figure as he ran to the demon, the Mokoi riding on his shoulders.
Jaune just stood there, grabbing the fallen summoning tube and quickly bringing up Crocea Mors in front of him.
The dream of being a Hero-the memory of what he had done to follow that dream. His father's blade felt so heavy, his mother's summoning tube understandably not listening to his wishes.
The illusion of being a Hunter-he would keep it. He had to. With a terrified yet determined heart, Jaune closed his eyes and ran into the fray.
