In short, the Users' Choice Awards are where we come together as a community to chose our favourite creative works on SV. It is a time for our most popular and beloved quests and stories to come up and take a bow.
The Awards take place in two phases. The Nomination Phase allows any user to nominate up to five quests or stories hosted on SV, across eight categories including this one.
The five most-nominated threads in each category will then go forward to the Voting Phase, where one will be selected as the winner!
Eligibility for Nomination to Best Original Work
In order to be eligible for nomination, a thread must:
Be hosted on Sufficient Velocity.
Be a quest, user fic, or other work of fiction.
Be an original work that is not a direct derivative or fanwork from another fictional property.
How to Nominate
You make your nominations by making a post in this thread. The rules are as follows:
You may nominate up to five threads.
You may edit your post up to the closing date, when the nominations will be counted. This is

Each nomination must consist of only the copy-pasted titles of the threads you wish to nominate, formatted like Quest votes, for example:
If your nomination is not formatted correctly, there is a risk it may not be counted.
Where to Discuss Nominations
Discussion in the thread is welcome! This includes within your nominations post, just please try to keep any discussion separated from your nominations with a paragraph break or linebreak, as you would in a Quest vote. This quest is. Spectacular. It won PoTM for a goddamn reason, and we're taking it all the way. Go read it right fucking now. It's got incredible world building, a spectacular premise, a great fanbase… what's not to love?
[X] Fluid Pestilence (Sci-Fi, LitRPG) This year I decided to try and write original fiction for the first time, and I am very happy with what I made during that attempt. Fluid Pestilence is a story mostly about eldritch mercenary antics by people who only wanted to play a video game.
... the name is probably more unpleasant sounding than the story actually is, and I possibly should have picked something else because I can't help but wonder if a lot of people thought it was more Nurgle-like than I can personally handle as a result.
I've been writing this story for about 2-3 years now and am proud of what's there! BEL0VED is set on a science fantasy world called Tei Ura and tells the story of Virenina as she goes from troubled young royal to god in the blood-drenched making. If you like stories involving powerful women, royalty, or the intersection of gore and beauty, you may enjoy this one!
