The planet of Satera, once ruled over by a Pantheon of Gods who guided mortal kind along until they weren't as needed, however, their influence remains into today. A diverse world with differing races, cultures, and climates, Satera is relatively peaceful.
Satera is a diverse world of differing races, from mankind to elves and dwarves, with unique magical aspects as well as some much more taboo. Many great minds have led to various technological advancements throughout history, and of course, this has to lead to conflicts aplenty. Satera is no stranger to war.
Various countries of Satera have worked out treaties, and banded together. This has resulted in several special operation groups and various other political parties and a diverse landscape within the political spectrum.
Yet there is still the underworld of Satera and those who would wish to see the fall of what some consider to be great countries.
And this all leads to you, and your place in all of this.

You are twenty-three year old Alessandra Shwarzgeist, hailing from the Unified Provinces of Wysteria. You have an older brother, named Kodiak. As far back as you can remember, you always wanted to join the military. Now you are a member of one of the most elite Special Forces units that the planet has to offer, a division known as the Black Hawks. The Black Hawks take the best of the best from all around Satera, regardless of race, gender, or culture. And you're not only just a member of the Black Hawks, but you're also part of Alpha Squadron.
And yet, here you are. Gleefully unprepared for the dramatic change in your life heading for you like a predator set upon its unsuspecting prey.

First thing's first, what's your basic history?
[ ] Orphan: When you and Kodiak were young, your parents passed were murdered. You don't particularly like to talk about it, nor think about it. However, this set you upon the path you're on today. To the military. You wanted to do your best to be capable of protecting anyone else from suffering the same fate you and your brother had.
[ ] Military Child: Both of your parents are in the military and unlike your brother, you've decided it was best to follow in their footsteps. You've excelled in many of the tests that the military has put you through, and now you've found yourself within the ranks of the infamous Black Hawk Division.
[ ] Commoner: You were simply the everyday, common girl growing up. You saw an advertisement for being able to explore the globe and meeting people from all over the world, and what being in the military could do at a young age. And so you set out to join it.
[ ] Write-In: Come up with something of your own. However, I'll ask this of you: Alessandra is currently not in a romantic relationship. She's from the Province called Luminos, which is the southeasternmost Province of Wysteria.

Think of Wysteria as an alternate version of the United States. There's a fair amount of similarities. Currently, there is no legal slavery anywhere on the planet of Satera. I may believe I know where you intend on going with this, however.

-[X] Commoner: You were a farmer's daughter. Growing up, you ate up any outside information you could find: music, news, languages, anything. But, you could only get your hands on so much. The military is your best bet to sate your curiosity.
Edit: I'm making an assumption here, but generally everywhere has something resembling an agricultural sector. So it's not that big of a jump, I hope.

Not a stretch at all. And it's possible she's moved away from home by now as well.

Odds are the trauma will pile up over the quest. So sticking with the (seemingly) most healthy option seems perfect.
Plus, with a personal desire not intrinsically connected to others. They may have a bigger range of things they wiiI be willing to do.

So far it seems we're going for the commoner background. Might wait a bit longer before the next vote in chargen. Maybe two or three more at most votes for chargen before we get into the quest properly.

You were born and raised in Leopolis, a small town in Providence, a Province in the very middle of your country. When you were young, you saw an advertisement about how the military would allow you to explore the world and get to see the other cultures out there. You were an ambitious young girl, wanting to get free of the nest and spread your wings, gravity be damned!
Kodiak, on the other hand, wasn't quite someone who wanted in the military. He was seemingly a troubled youth, though you always looked up to your older brother. Both in the very literal and figurative sense. He was the most badass kid in school. He became a very skilled martial artist and started training in both mystical arts and marksmanship skills when he was only thirteen.
So when your brother confided to you that he had made contact and friends with a particularly ancient and sanguine individual, well it was of no surprise to you. Not even that vampires exist.
However, the kind of person your brother came to be was his own destiny, whether or not the consequences of his own actions are tied to your own fate.
You were inspired by your brother's hard efforts in training his mind and body, so you made the decision to train yourself as well. Especially with the end goal in mind of joining the military.

How would you best describe yourself when it comes to skills in combat?
[ ] Soldier: You're trained purely in firearms and melee combat. You have little to no magical training. You also don't have the technological know-how to be able to hack into any technology.
[ ] Engineer: Combat is not your only trade, you're a crafty one. You've decided it was best to have the technological know-how and be capable of rigging useful materials into something much more useful when the need arises.
[ ] Sorceress: You loved the idea of magic when you were young, and refused not to be taught so adamantly that your parents eventually gave in. You're also a highly trained soldier who's skilled in the usage of firearms and melee combat. However, you are unable to make use of technology to it's most efficient usage.
[ ] Jane of All Trades: The mind is the most powerful tool that you possess, and you made yours up that you would falter in no step. You talked your parents into letting you attend sorcery classes when you were young, and you took a likely to tinker and understanding how things are made and built. You also took martial arts and participated in sports in school, turning your body into a precise instrument of your own liking. Combat training came naturally to you.

I have always preferred the magic option. Also, it has good mundane combat capabilities.
