Take control of a wealthy merchants grandson in the world of ice and fire, who throws caution to the wind, abandons the livelihood his grandfather poured blood, sweat and tears to groom him for. All in an attempt to achieve the narcisstic power fantasies that were present ever since he learned that he was alive. What possibly can go wrong with SV aiding him?

You cannot be content with your lot in life. That's the one thing you can be sure about in this wretched state. It is a heady feeling that does well to make your dreams more then a little interesting. Of course, many would disagree with your sentiment if you are of the sort to voice it outload. You are luckier then most, you have a hearth and home, warm meals given to you thrice a day, and a rather influential grandfather. Compared to a born and bred highborn, though, might as well be a damned whipping boy.

You recall the times whenever the lords and ladies of the land descended from their mighty keeps to mingle with the commons. With their finery and strong commanding presence, you could not help but feel a pang of reverence. They were the center of attention, born to rule when they came people followed, even the toughest of your peers would become a meek stuttering fool when trading words with a highborn. Gods be good imagine having such power over others! Makes grandfather seem like nothing but a grubby coin counter. You know people are born with different skills and advantages, the faithful say heirachies are a natural thing from the lowliest of beasts to the highest of kings, present in them all, it is the natural order that the gods made so, every bond consisting of one above and one below. Well, maybe not for the kings, the only ones that dare claim to be above the sovereigns of the kingdom are the gods themselves!

Imagine all the possiblities offered just for landing on the right side of the gods favour, imagine l the sensation of clad in finery so opulent most men would look like nothing but beggars. You've heard the stories of what is available to the most powerful and it fills you with a terrible dread and strangely enough more than a little envy..best not to tell others about the envy part.

All these thoughts-more akin to foolish fantasies then actual practical thoughts-seem to impede into your head for longer than most, *sigh*. Your grandfather says your struggle to keep flippant fantasies away comes from the "ill-thought summer coupling" that resulted in your birth. Your mother, once a pretty petal in full bloom, was the only child of her well to do merchant father. Making her a very promising marriage prospect for the young men in a region in..
[] The Riverlands
[] The Vale
[] The Crownlands (depending on what era you pick may not exist yet or if events play out differently enough-ever. The North, Dorne and The Iron Islands are not available. I'm not bothering to explain why.)
[] The Westerlands
[] The Stormlands
[] The Reach
(If you want a specific region in a kingdom say it in the vote otherwise I will just choose myself.)

The groom who received her hand in marriage would have a fat dowry and to sweeten the deal further a pretty wife, all this was possible and more if they received her fine hand. But, alas, their effort proved to be for naught, due to your mother's insistence in..

[] Marrying a poor wandering singer who only had his harp, his voice and a face that could make a bitter crone blush like a newly flowered maid. Grandfather hated the man with a passion. Probably one of the reasons he treated you the like cow dung half the time. You are very much your father's son.
Traits Gained:
Attractive
Gregarious
Silver-Tonged

[] Wedding some high-born knight she never told you the name of. You've tried to ask her to tell the full story but that was a very quick way to dampen her mood, and her moods were already dark enough. Grandfather was hesitant to speak of him as well, but when he did you may have seen fear in his eyes. Your most likely his bastard.
Traits gained:
Robust
Stubborn
Authoritative

[] Eloping with an eccentric half-maester of some sort, your mother loved how passionate he was when he spoke of books and imparting people with knowledge he thought essential for living a long and meaningful life. Before his untimely death he gave you the tools to become a scholar in truth.
Traits gained:
Smart
Erudite
Pensive

[] Conversing with a strange supposed wiseman who had an unique relationship with beasts from the wild. He was a taciturn man more inclined to wonder through the woods and ponder what he called the 'will of the gods' rather then converse with people he viewed as more unsavory then the beasts that kept him company. He would teach you how to access the 'gift'.
Traits Gained:
Warg
Mystic
Stoic

[] Write In ( They are allowed but I will veto any that I don't think are appropriate. Such as being a bastard of a king or a major lord etc, I will handle the traits gained.)

From that union you were born, unknown to you, it will be in a time that coincides with upheaval in the large continent known as Westeros. There is no better time to chance to climb the ladder in uncertain times like this, or die horribly, but enough of that. What era is it exactly?

[] ? BC The Era of Aegon's Conquest.
[] 37 BC The Era of The Sons of The Dragon.
[] 42 BC The Era of Maegor The Cruel.
[] 127 BC The Era of The Dance Of Dragons.
[] 193 AC The Era of the Blackfyre Rebellion
[] 255 AC The Era of The War of The Ninepenny Kings.
[] 281 AC The Era of Robert's Rebellion
[] 298 AC The Era of The War of Five Kings
[] Write In (I'd allow any that I like if I don't like the era I'll veto.)

What is your name?
[] Write-In (I'm giving you free reign here, if you make it witty and in-universe I'll give you brownie points. You have a first name and a last name btw.)

Time passed and you continued to grow, you mainly managed to stay away from harm, may of made some freinds and in the happy ignorance of young childhood you felt the closest thing to contentment. But, like always every good thing comes to an end.
The veil had been lifted when you heard of the death of your father. (Mother if the knight option is chosen.) At first it sounded rather odd when they said father was not coming back; he always did, when you realized your father was not coming back. But, in time you accepted it, after all..

[] Everybody dies best not to think about it perhaps they went to a better place.
[] Your parent would not want you want you to whinge and cry like a baby, besides you still had grandfather was still around to take care of you.
[] You weren't particularly close to them.
[] You had already seen a dead body the one time you went swimming in the river, it looked pretty fine as it floated in the water.
[] If they died in such an inane way, maybe they weren't really worth mourning over, you decided to do your best to not repeat their failings and die in such squalor.
[] Write In (How you respond to this death will affect how the player charecter develops.)

The way they died, was on them, more akin to simple foolishness. After all they..
[] Choked on a fishbone while playing a drinking game.
[] Went to the seedy parts of town to collect debt payments .
[] Beat a maiden to death for denying them.
[] Attempted to burn down a farm they were denied, failed, and was hung as a result.
[] Contracted the lover's pox.
[] Banally drank themselves to death.
[] Died frothing in spit after a drunken rant.

Time continued to march on and as you aged and became more independent you struck up a friendship with a boy and in time you became thick as thieves. Who was he? (If the singer father option is chosen you can choose 2 close freinds.)
[] Alton: The son of Ser Altos, The Captain of The Gaurd. Loud and boisterous he taught you the thrill of beating your opponent's bloody. He seeks to leave town and become a knight worthy of song. You will probably follow suit.
[] Keat: In the beginning you thought little of him. A short weedy boy hesitant to talk didn't seem like the type to keep you entertained. But, after befriending him in earnest, you were proven wrong. His sharp eyes and cunning plans were more then a little amusing. From him you learnt the value of observation.
[] Jace: He was the closest thing to a high-born companion you ever knew. The bastard son of the local lord, he carried a certain authority over you. Although, he was reluctant to use it. Jace was ever meticulous, he enjoyed making charts and putting his books in their 'proper' place. He had a sad cast to his eye, but still he could stil be interesting enough, he knew all the good stories like Hugor and his seventy-seven sons, Garth The Greenhand adventures and the chilivary of Florian The Fool. Although, he disliked talking about the future, you knew he wanted to play a part in yours.
[] Wait what, you didn't really have any friends. You were far too focused on learning grandfather's trade. You were his heir, you would not waste your time making merry when you have a man's life work to maintain.
[] Write-In (Make it plausible)

OOC: Thanks for checking this quest out let's hope I get some replies. This is a Game of Thrones Quest (book canon) with some Crusader Kings 3 game mechanics, you will be taking control of an ambitious middle class merchant's heir who is trying to increase his station by many (not all depending on your choices) means necessary. Depending on the time period it might actually develop into a real dynasty quest. Please vote in plan format.

Mechanics
You are ignoring content by this member.
The mechanics of the quest are loosely based ob the Crusader Kings series. The players will mostly decide what actions the main charecter takes, but the type of options available will be determined by the PC's traits and general temperament. Write-in' are usual allowed however any out of charecter actions maybe penalized-in a way similar to the stress mechanic in CK3.

Most significant actions chosen will have a dice of d100, with the chance of success increased or decreased by traits and your attribute score. Your traits are essentially your personality it tells us how you are likely to act. Whereas, your attribute score is a measure of your actual skill in a specific field. The usual CK3 diplomacy, martial, stewardship, intrigue, learning and prowess attribute scores, personality traits and current physical/mental state all play a part in determining your success in an action in the form of positive/negative modifiers for the 1d100 dice.

Do note that every charecter has a natural cap in each of of the major attributes, this is determined by congenetial traits, core personality traits that maybe inheritable and the education level you received as a child.

Your reputation, station and appearance all play a big roll on first impressions throughout the quest. If you are known as a fair honourable man people may treat you better and vice versa.

TBC.
