Your name is Ella Nuage, youngest daughter of the Legendary Scientist, Ciel Nuage. You're the Chosen of Model Z, and you're known throughout the Guardian Republic as the Red Megaman. This is your story. This is her story.
The Reapers are finally dead. Defeated in full by the Prothean Remnant in Dark Space, the last dredges of the Prothean Empire can finally rest in peace, their species finally dying off one hundred years after their Pyrrhic victory over the Reapers.
Yet, their legacy remains. The Citadel Council, founded almost fifty thousand years later, has developed, though not to the level of the Prothean Empire, as a worthy successor state.
In the meantime, however, Earth, the center of our story, has brought itself to the brink countless times, each apocalypse hardening them and bringing them closer together, before finally, the Heroes of Aeons, The Megamen Aile and Grey, bring down the Sage Trinity with the full support of the Sage Mikhail.
Two Hundred Years Have Passed. The key to timelessness is discovered by Ciel, who finally comes out of hiding after the deaths of the Sage Trinity in a climactic final battle. A Democratic Government, the first of its kind since the great calamity all those years ago is formed, and the first Planetary Body outside of Earth is colonized.
While terraforming Mars, a group of scientists discover the Ancient Prothean Ruins held within, and immediately begin analyzing them, discovering a previously unknown element, which they dub: "Element Zero". The Element rockets the technology of the Guardian Republic forwards, and they quickly begin to expand, settling several Garden Worlds in short order, the Mass Relays leading them to the worlds that were suitable for colonization with surprising coincidence.
Yet another hundred years pass. The Guardian Republic has stood tall through this time, becoming the haven that their forefathers had imagined so long ago, a place where Humanity and Robots lived in true harmony. Man was, by this time, almost certainly part machine, while machine was also part man.
Yet, even as a Golden Age dawns on humanity, forces from within and without plot. Just a single relay jump away, the Citadel Council begins the process of opening yet another mass relay, the Batarians posed at the forefront of their exploration efforts. Their destination? A Human Colony System. Only time will tell what happens there.
Yet, within, an ancient evil stirs. Once thought defeated, the shattered remnants of Model W still look to influence the course of history, unwitting pawns drawn to the last remaining core and his fragments by promises of power.
We start our story here, questors. Who are you?
What is your name?
[] Write In
What is your gender?
[] Male
[] Female
Are you a reploid or a humanoid?
[] Reploid: A Replica Android. A Sapient AI that mimics humanity so closely the difference is almost impossible to make out. Marked by a Triangle on their forehead, mostly as a matter of distinction. Timeless.
[] Humanoid: A Human, modified to be partially cybernetic via increasingly advanced technology. Timeless, so far as humanity is aware.
Do you have any notable ancestors? (Pick up to One)
[] Aile: One of the Heroes of Renown, Aile is still alive to this day, and, up until you were born, has borne three other children in her womb. She's currently Semi-Retired to raise her children, and, while technically someone quite capable at beating the ever-living shit out of someone, she no longer is the chosen of Model X or Z, having forced the two to move on and find other chosen. Wield a biometal personally made for her by Ciel, Model ZX. As one of Aile's Children, you've been taught extensively on single combat, and command positions.
[] Ciel: The Scientist that discovered a unique form of power, the Ciel System, and discovered the secrets of immortality. Ciel, to this date, has borne two other children. She's also a wielder of a Biometal, Model C, based around her own memories of Zero. She's terrifying to fight, and, unlike Aile, has not retired from Science quite yet, being a leading expert in several fields. As one of Ciel's children, you're extremely capable in the fields of science,
[] Grey: One of the Heroes of Renown, Grey is still an important figure in the Guardian Republic, serving as one of the Field Leaders of the Elite Special Forces of the Navy and Marines. He's, to this date, fathered no other children besides you, and is a rather distant father, though an extremely affectionate one. When he does have time for you, he's taught you how to thrive in a combat zone. To this day, he remains the Copy Megaman.
[] Write In: (Must contain at least a paragraph on benefits and how many other descendants/children there are)
Lastly, no hero in this era would be complete without their partnered Bio-Metal. Which Biometal are you a Biomatch of?
[] Model X, the Blue Mega Man, has attacks based upon those of X and utilizes an X-Buster.
[] Model Z, the Red Mega Man is based on Zero, features its own Z-Saber as a weapon and possesses a visor in place of a helmet.
[] Model H, the Wind Mega Man, is based off Harpuia with his double blades and a wide range of sonic and electricity attacks. It grants the Enemy Analyzing ability, allowing the user to see an enemy's name and remaining "health"
[] Model L, the Ice Mega Man acquires Leviathan's abilities, designed for underwater combat, including the dual-headed staff and projectile attacks. Its Searching ability produces a light which homes in on nearby items.
[] Model F, the Flame Mega Man possesses Fefnir's capabilities of ground combat, fire knuckles and flame/bomb shots, and is good in both long-ranged and melee combat. The Buster Edit allows shots to go in any planned direction, but with a limit on the length of the path.
[] Model P, the Shadow Mega Man hides Phantom's soul inside, features knife-throwing and shuriken attacks, with ninja-like movements and abilities. Its Night Scope allows the user to directly target on-screen enemies with a kunai, even through obstacles, as well as simply see the whereabouts of all immediate threats.
Your name is Ella Nuage, the youngest daughter of Doctor Ciel Nuage, and the Chosen of Model Z. You're known throughout society, being the daughter of arguably the most influential Scientist of all time, one whose work continues to this day.
You've lived a relatively comfortable life, the minor hiccup that caused you to inherit Model Z very much an outlier within your current tapestry.
You still remember it quite clearly, however. The Raider's, still a problem even after all these years, executed a daring raid on the city of Innerpeace, aiming to steal you away for ransom. The previous Red Megaman had stepped in to save you, defending you from wave after wave of raiders, until, in that dreadful moment, he had died, overwhelmed by the sheer amount of raiders pouring in to capture you and kill him.
You remember your scream of rage, and your sobs as the man who had defended you with the fury of a dragon died, even as the Megamerge dissolved, and the Biometal housing Zero's Cyberelf called to you.
You remember his words even now. "It's your decision. You alone must make it. Do you have the will to fight? Do you have what it takes to continue where that brave man left off?" Little did you know, these words were the very words that Model Z had told Aile all those years ago, and, without hesitation, you had taken the Biometal in your hands, and Megamerged.
Your form was so reminiscent of your mother's that it hurt, though, within moments, you were under attack, Model Z practically screaming in your ears to run, that you likely couldn't take on the horde of enemies. Not while you were a new megaman, not while you were still reeling in grief from the man who had been slaughtered in front of you.
And so, with tears streaming from your eyes, you fled. The people around you blamed you not, and, being the target of the raiders in the first place, they gave chase.
Frantic running. Sending buster shots behind you, hoping to hit even one raider, one more person less pursuing you.
Then, finally, you were cornered, having headed down an alley you were certain had lead into another area of the city, only to find a dead end.
You remember the words of the raiders, promising a fate worse than death before you would be killed, the members that had died attempting to capture you sending them into a spiral of range, and you had raised your saber threateningly, tears falling from your eyes as they stepped towards you slowly.
It was then, that like an avenging angel, your mother descended upon them, her eyes blazing with a fury unlike any you had seen, her saber cutting swathes through the raiders, until, finally, she stood before you, covered in blood and other fluids.
"Are you okay Ella? Mommy is here for you now." She had said, embracing you in a hug.
Your sobs had continued for a while, Model Z politely disengaging the megamerge so you could feel your mother's arms around you more personally, the Biometal retreating into cyberspace while he waited for things to calm down.
Shaking your head, you clear the rather horrible flashback from your head, smiling at Model Z's "concerned look", giving him a thumb's up. You were fine, and, thankfully, your therapist agreed.
"Ella, we're going to be late." That would be Elvie, your best friend since childhood, and the daughter of the Mother Elf herself. "You remember that we're supposed to report to our posting today, right?"
Taking a long, hard look at your cyber elven friend, you nod slowly. "Yeah, I remember Elvie. We're reporting to-"
[] The GRS Light, the Guardian Republic's newest Dreadnought. She's an extremely prestigious posting, and you'll be able to geek out over all the newest innovation present on her. Hopefully, your direct CO isn't an ass! (A Sailor's Path)
[] The GRS Swiftsure, a Guardian Republic Exploration Frigate, one that's scheduled to depart from Earth to a currently classified location today. While not the most exciting posting for a naval officer, you're always been an explorer at heart. (A Pathfinder's Path)
[] Area Zero, the birthplace of resurgent nature within Earth's Biosphere. Currently, it hosts your mother's lab, along with several other labs, one of which you'll be working at. Gotta work your way up to your mother's level, after all! (A Scientist's Path)
[] Neo Eurasia, the newest colony that the Guardian Republic has, and a rather exciting posting, all things considered. But, that excitement probably won't last forever, though you know nothing of that yet. (A Soldier's Path)
[X] The GRS Swiftsure, a Guardian Republic Exploration Frigate, one that's scheduled to depart from Earth to a currently classified location today. While not the most exciting posting for a naval officer, you're always been an explorer at heart. (A Pathfinder's Path)
(Disclaimer: I don't know Military Stuff all too well. Please forgive any errors here.)
"-The GRS Swiftsure, for our posting aboard as junior officers." You say, smiling happily at your friend. The satellite elf, though it was a disservice to the exquisite "design" behind her creation to call her a simple satellite elf, bobbed up and down happily.
"Yep!" Elvie chirped, "I'm hoping we run into some exciting things on the expedition. Though I'm unsure why everything in the file was classified to hell and back."
You hum in agreement, and the two of you resume your brisk yet leisurely pace towards the docks that the GRS Swiftsure was moored at in the Innerpeace Naval Station, various other servicemen and women saluting the two of you as you pass.
Before long, you've arrived at the docks, and, with a quick biometric check, you're through the checkpoint set up by the ships' marines. Being a relatively small vessel, it's no surprise to you that when you step on board, you're immediately intercepted by another crew member, who brings you up to another deck.
"Best to meet the Captain before going anywhere, lassies." The male reploid says, smiling at you and Elvie, "Commander Hannah Shepard likes to know her crew, especially her bridge crew."
Your eyes widen, "Wait, we're both being assigned to a bridge posting?" you say, barely noticing Elvie freeze in surprise as well.
The jovial reploid shrugged, "Captain's orders. Haven't been given access to your academy scores, so I can't personally say if it's politics or merit." Pausing, the reploid turned around and began walking towards the elevator, clearly expecting you to follow him, "Regardless of the circumstances, I suppose I should introduce myself. The name's Girouette. I generally use the full name, as respect to the man who bore this name before me."
You nod. As someone who knew the history of the world in quite a lot of detail, mostly due to your mother, you know that Girouette was the adoptive father of the Chosen Aile, who, to this day, protected the Guardian Republic in her own way.
"It's nice to meet you, Girouette!" Elvie replies as your thoughts wander, "I'm Elvie, and this is my best friend, Ella," you wave as Elvie introduces you, the Mother Elf's daughter spinning in place as she floats, "I hope we can get along!"
Girouette gives the cyber elf a small smile before he turns serious once more. "If you could join me in the elevator, ladies."
Both you and Elvie share a look, before nodding, stepping into the elevator with Girouette. As you ascend towards the bridge of the Swiftsure, you attempt to calm the nerves that have been building since Girouette told you Captain Hannah Shepard wanted to meet with you.
You're somewhat successful, and it's with a smile that you step off the elevator, confidently striding towards the figure at the center of the bridge and CIC, Elvie following behind you at a much more sedate pace.
[Ella, Good Luck] Model Z Communicated through your Biolink.
[Thank you, Zero.] You replied, [I'll do my best.]
Finally, you stand in front of the Captain, saluting and standing at attention.
"Ensign Ella Nuage reporting for duty, Commander Shepard." You say, holding the salute while Elvie introduces herself, her small form saluting the Commander as well.
"At ease, Ensign Nuage, Ensign Elvie." Commander Shepard replied, the woman studying both of us briefly, before nodding to herself. "Welcome onboard the GRS Swiftsure, one of the Guardian Republic's newest Stealth Capable Pathfinder Frigates." Pausing, she took a look around, "You're the last members of the crew to board, mostly due to the fact that you both were reassigned here at my request. You were supposed to be assigned to the GRS Light."
You gasp at the admission, before frowning briefly. While you'll miss the opportunity that being assigned to a dreadnought would give you, you figure there's a reason you got assigned to a Pathfinder ship.
"Ensign Elvie, Ensign Nuage, both of your scores in the academy impressed a lot of people. Both your grasp on scientific fields, along with Ensign Nuage's rather impressive combat scores led me to requisition you for this special mission." Pausing for dramatic effect, the good Commander continued,
[] "We're not alone in the universe. We've been notified of alien probes in the Arcadia System, and our job is to track their civilization down."
[] "We're being deployed to secure a Prothean Ruin that the GRS Jervis found. It's the most intact ruin we've found so far, thus, we're not moving a flotilla there till we've secured the ground. Raider Presence was detected in a nearby system, hence the stealth."
Your eyes widen, and, with a firm nod, you ask, "What's to be Elvie and I's role, Commander?"
[] "Our Designated Pathfinders." (Similar to a ME:A Pathfinder, your job primarily revolves around Exploration and Xenobiology.)
[] "You'll be attached to our Marines, Ensign." (Basically Pathfinder Option, without the responsibilities attached to it. Easy mode, if you will.)
[] "You'll be leading our Science Team on their expedition. Be warned, they're not happy about your youth, but you're the only military scientist we could get onboard in time." (Pure Science option. You'll start with a team that isn't exactly happy to see you.)
[] Write In (The only option I will ignore if it wins, and doesn't make sense within my lore. I'll warn you in advance if it won't work, however.)
