Shioon lay down with a sigh of contentment, basking in the warmth of the sun. It had been years since he had taken a vacation; there had simply been too much to do after dismantling Black Forest Defence and freeing his master. Though leadership of the Sunwoo Clan was passed back into the hands of Sosul when the Phoenix Medallion had been returned, the clan remained steadfastly loyal. Their backing formed a significant cornerstone in maintaining his position as the head of the Martial Arts Alliance.
Recovering the prestige of the organization after the attempted takeover of Seoul was a different matter entirely. The amount of politicking involved was obscene as Shioon had to prevent additional intervention from the central government in the Murim world while balancing the demands of the clans. Eventually giving up, an open challenge was issued for the clans who opposed him to meet him in combat. No one took up the offer.
Taking a small sip from the tall glass of ice cold lemonade, Shioon watches as sunlight glimmers across the endless blue of the Aegean Sea. With the girls out shopping and exploring the island, he finally had a moment of peace and tranquility. That was of course when half the island erupted in flames and screams of terror reaches his ears.
"Danju-nim!" one of the guards calls to him but is ignored as Shioon leaps into the air and begins moving towards the city.

Shioon is a blur as he moves, leaping from rooftop to rooftop towards the fountain at the center of the town The streets were amazingly devoid of people, as buildings collapsed and burned despite being mostly made from stone. The pattern of destruction carved a straight line across the town. He ponders what type of weapon could have cause this, but comes up short. Channeling a huge burst of ki into the soles of his feet, Shioon jumps thirty feet into the air and lands in the central plaza.
Slightly off to the side and down one of the main thoroughfares, a blonde man in greek armor wields a black spear against a dozen men and women in suits. Though it seems as if he is being pressed back by their attacks, Shioon recognizes the capabilities of a true master. The suits are being toyed with. Nonetheless they are not his primary concern as he moves to the girls.
Sera is carefully bandaging a deep gash on Jinie's left arm as Sosul stands guard. A truly staggering array of shopping bags lie around them though many look singed.
"Jinie, are you all right?" Shioon asks as he eyes the wound critically. She nods.
"Got nicked by the crazy guy with the spear before the suits interrupted. Need to pay him back for that," Jinie replies with a smirk.
"Shioon, we need to leave here immediately," Sera's voice is tinged with panic, which is rather uncharacteristic of her. Shioon's eyebrows knit in consternation.
"What's wrong?" he speaks softly and rubs her shoulder. Some of the tension leaves her body, but an undercurrent of fear remains. Before she replies, Sosul interjects.
"That man," gesturing to the blonde. "Is Achilles."
"As in the Greek Hero? How would that even be possible?" skilled though he may be, Shioon had serious doubts that the man fighting down the road is a nigh invulnerable warrior from Greek myth.
"I don't know but considering he rode in on a flying chariot that destroyed dozens of buildings in its wake then took a Heaven Shattering Thunder Strike from me to the chest with absolutely no damage, I'm more inclined to believe him then not," this made Shioon pause as Sosul is one of the few martial artists that could possibly match him. Having overcome her Nine-Yin body, she is a ki powerhouse that uses esoteric techniques far beyond mortal limits. He cannot conceive of a martial artist that could receive a full powered strike from her and come out uninjured.
"Fine, let's go".
"Too late. He's finishing off the suits," Shioon turns to find nine of the suits already dead or grievously injured. Achilles spins his weapon in an arc, neatly bisecting two of the remaining suits. He then thrusts his spear single-handed, twisting to add additional force, and impales the last man through the heart. With a wide grin, he withdraws the spear tip and shoulders the weapon before walking towards Shioon and the girls. Achilles says something but Shioon's command of Greek is non-existent. He turns slightly to Sera.
"He said he has come seeking a challenge. We will be allowed to leave if you can defeat him in combat," Sera says quietly.
"Ask him how exactly we're supposed to fight him if he's invulnerable to attacks," Sera repeats your words in Greek to Achilles, causing the man to laugh.
"Achilles says that he has an ability… or spell I'm a little unclear on this word. It will create a dueling field in which he is fully mortal. Though both of you must agree to the terms," Shioon considers it for a moment before nodding.
_______________________________________________________________
Sera presides over the terms of the duel and allows Shioon to agree once she feels absolutely sure there are no hidden terms. With a flash the world crumbles away and much to his amazement, Shioon finds himself standing amidst a field of endless grass that stretches beyond the horizon. The sky is a brilliant blue with nary a cloud in sight, and the sun warms his back just enough to be comfortable.
"Welcome warrior to the Fields of Elysium!" Achilles appears about 10 meters away. "I am Achilles, as I am sure you know by now."
"I am Yi Shioon," Shioon says with a slight bow.
"Yi Shioon… what an unusual name. Nonetheless if you were unworthy this dueling field could not have been created. I look forward to our battle," Achilles expression turns serious, as he materializes a shield in addition to the spear he already had.
Shioon stands still, circulating ki throughout his body. He considered what little he remembered from Achilles legend. Aiming for the heel seemed an obvious choice, the one true weakness of an otherwise invincible hero. It is an awkward target though and the terms of the duel should have caused Achilles to forgo his invulnerability to create a more fair fight. Before he has any more time to consider his strategy, the greek hero charges.
The spear pierces through the air with such speed it can hardly be seen, Shioon barely avoiding the attack despite his incredible speed and reflexes. He grabs at the shaft with his right hand and attacks with Soul Crushing Strike with his left, aiming to shatter the weapon, but the shaft merely bends and rebounds. Utilizing Tweh, Shioon retreats a dozen meters away in a flash.
"You have some interesting skills! Try not to die yet," Achilles takes two steps forward, leaps then throws his spear like a javelin. Shioon dodges the projectile with ease, but is caught unprepared when Achilles appears next to him and swings his shield towards his neck. With little time to react, he concentrates ki into the arteries of his feet and stomps down, utilizing the Seismic Step technique. The ground shatters and gives way, causing Shioon to drop just under the shield, though he can feel the metal cut through the tips of his hair. Achilles is caught slightly off balance, but recovers quickly and shoulder charges with the force of a truck, launching him flying through the air.
Shioon lands awkwardly and coughs up blood, his ribs cracked. Laughing softly to himself for taking on a legendary hero with magic powers lightly, he adjusts his stance to that of a proper martial artist. The last few years of politics had made him complacent.
"It seems we have both been taking each other lightly," Achilles says with a smile as he pulls his spear from the ground. Lazily spinning it in a circle, he places it on his shoulder once again and waits.
"My apologies," Shioon replies with a wry grin of his own. Tightening his fist, he cannot help but feel excited. Though this is a battle to the death, his blood thrums and his body is suffused with battle lust. He had never managed to reconcile his peaceful nature with his love of battle, though his master explained it as "ambition to surpass human limits". It was as good of an explanation as any.
Deciding to stop wasting time, Shioon inverts his ki flow and initiates Hyun Won Ji Gyung, the Black Origin Threshold. The greatest technique in all of the Black Heaven and Earth School, it is a pinnacle art coveted by all Murim practitioners. Mastering it to perfection has been the struggle of centuries worth of the most elite of Murim Masters, but not even the likes of Nine Arts Dragon found success here. Where they failed though, Shioon succeeded. Ki flares around him with such brightness he looks as if he is on fire and an aura of bloodthirst seeps from his being. Even Achilles subconsciously takes a step back though it does not affect him beyond this.
Shioon flexes his arm slightly and taps the ground with his right foot to make sure his ki circulation is flawless. Finding no problems he takes a deep breath and lets it back out. Steam emits from his mouth as Black Origin Threshold consumes an enormous amount of the body's energy and heats it up to an absurd degree. Where once rage would have completely overridden his mind and turned him into an animalistic berserker though, Shioon now has perfect control.
Instinctively Shioon knows that a technique like Hwan would be useless against Achilles, his mind and willpower are simply too high to be overcome. Instead he aims to crush the greek hero limbs.
Dashing forward and leaping into the air, he swings his leg down in an axe kick powerful enough to cut through a concrete and steel. Achilles blocks with his shield, but Shioon uses this as an opportunity to place both his feet on its surface. Throwing more ki into a Double Seismic Step than a master could utilize in an entire fight, Shioon slams down, breaking Achilles forearm and sending him crashing into the ground. Before Shioon can capitalize on the down opponent however, the greek hero disappears from his sight.
Though he strains his senses trying to perceive the next attack, Shioon is caught off guard as Achilles moves so quickly he does not even see the thrust towards his heart till the last moment. Only his body's subconscious reaction allows him to dodge the lethal blow. Instead the black spear tears into his shoulder. Shrugging off the pain, he uses the momentum behind the thrust along with the rotation of his body, to counter with Heavenly Exploding Penetration Strike. Achilles is forced to back out without his spear to avoid the worst of the blow, though the lower left portion of his chest armor is crushed.
"You didn't even flinch when I nearly killed you," Achilles laughs. Shioon inclines his head slightly.
"I broke your arm and pieces of your armor have perforated your intestines. It didn't do anything to you either," grasping the black metal shaft of the spear, Shioon pulls it out of his shoulder and plants it point first into the ground.
"I guess people like us get used to this kind of thing. Still I didn't think warriors like you still existed in this era. It's been centuries since I've had a good fight. The last guy to injure me was a Campione."
"What's a Campione?" Achilles looks at him incredulously before laughing.
"Don't worry about it. You'll know what it means if you kill me," Shioon shrugs and prepares himself for the next bout. Both of them have incurred fairly significant injuries, though nothing immediately life threatening. Achilles pops his dislocated arm back into its socket and tightens the shield straps around his broken forearm before drawing a sword from his side.
In a blur of movement the two fighters meet in a titanic clash. Shioon uses his walking techniques to the utmost, raining blows from every angle. The greek hero however is the fastest person he has ever fought. Sounds akin to the ringing of a gong reverberate throughout the field as ki infused strikes are blocked by the mighty shield. Achilles retaliates with his blade, scoring dozens of minor cuts. Nothing dangerous though the wounds bleed profusely. Shioon shrugs off the wounds as if they are ireelevant, blood loss isn't something that concerns him.
As they dart back and forth, exchanging half a dozen attacks with every breath, Shioon manages to land two significant blows. A sweeping kick to Achille's heel followed by a lightning quick Phoenix Wing Whip that connected with enough force to carve through the greek hero's armor and into the flesh beneath as well as a Phantom Kick to the head. Achilles makes him pay for the latter though, slicing deep into his chest and nearly through his spine.
"You're a monster," Achilles states, grinning with blood stained lips. A small trickle of vital fluid flows from his mouth every time he breathes. Shioon's condition is no better, but he's frankly used to losing blood and taking grievous injuries. Black Origin Threshold also makes him immune to pain. He is as much a being of fighting spirit as human in this state. He knows however their battle is coming to an end. They will both use their strongest attacks here to finish off the other.
Achilles takes a sprinter's stance, his feet digging deep into the earth, with shield and sword poised. Shioon takes three rotating steps back and begins to gather three separate flows of ki, circulating them around his ki center.
The legendary warrior of Greek antiquity takes the initiative and attacks first, disappearing from sight as he moves like a comet. Drawing back his fist, Shioon prepares his last attack as Achilles' sword enters his chest and into his heart. With a triumphant grin, the greek twists his blade, causing a spurt of blood to splatter on his face.
"An amazing duel. You were indeed worthy to fight against me," Achilles says as he looks into his opponent's eyes, expecting to see them dimming in death. It was not to be.
"Hon Cheon Meol Gyuk," Shioon intones. Ki explodes around him as he lunges forward, even as it drives the sword further into his heart. Chaotic Heavens Destruction Strike backed by the full might of a Black Origin Threshold users is nigh unstoppable. At this close of a range and out of position, Achilles has no chance. Even as he backpedals and attempts to put his shield in between his body and Shioon, even as he attempts to invoke his instantaneous movement skill, they both know this blow will connect.
Shioon's attack emits a huge shockwave; burrowing straight through armor and annihilating the greek hero's heart before exploding out of his back and launching him away like a ragdoll. Shioon's breathing is labored and he can feel his life ebbing away. Still he does not relax despite dealing a lethal blow. His instincts prove correct when Achilles rises laughing despite the giant hole in his torso.
"How interesting! You've actually killed me," Achilles put his arm through the hole in his chest and wiggles his fingers.
"You are moving a lot for a deadman," Shioon quips.
"So are you! You took my sword to the heart and yet here you are very much not dead. It matters not though. We are each at our end. It is now a contest of will, to see who expires before the other to determine the victor," Shioon coughs wetly as he struggles not to laugh. Achilles is among the weirdest people he has ever fought. Kneeling down to take a seated position, he maintains a regal posture despite the blood and wounds that litter his body. Achilles sits himself but a few meters away, his posture as irreverent as he was in legend.
"Tell me about yourself Yi Shioon. I wish to know the warrior who killed the mighty Achilles. Even Hector, my greatest foe, failed in this endeavor," Shioon seeing no reason to refuse the greek hero's request answers, details his life and escapades. He tells Achilles of the Murim world, of his life as a practitioner, of his path as a martial artist. He finds a captive audience, amazed at the existence of a society of men and women so dedicated to the martial path.
"It is good to know that even in this day and age there are still those that strive to equal the heroes of yore. I have come to these lands dozens of times through the centuries, but found my enemies wanting. There were strong magic users to be sure, but warriors? Beyond the Campiones there have been none," Achilles murmurs quietly, conserving what remains of his strength.
"You've mentioned Campiones before. What are they? What do you mean by magic users?"
"I thought you were an active participant in the supernatural world, otherwise you should have not been able to see me. Perhaps your art brings you to the edge of the supernatural. Magic users are what they sound like; those that use magic. There's different types but I've never paid much attention to them. Flying, shooting fire, concealment that kind of thing. Campione's are god slayers, the devil kings. They are mortals who killed heretical gods and took their powers. It is what you will become upon my death," Shioon blinks before sighing heavily. More responsibilities were the last thing he needed.
"You won't die before me will you?" Achilles asks. Shioon considers how best to answer before going with the truth.
"No. Black Origins Threshold pushes me beyond mortal limits. To become the ultimate embodiment of mu, fighting spirit," Achilles shakes his head with wonder.
"You were certainly full of surprises Yi Shioon. Claim my authorities and become the greatest warrior the world has ever seen," having spoken his peace, Achilles dissolves into a thousand motes of golden light. The Fields of Elysium disappear and Shioon finds himself once again by the fountain of the town plaza. He began to believe the fight had been entirely illusory until wounds began to spread across his body. Collapsing on his knees, he vaguely hears the girls call for him before he loses consciousness.

"My, my what an interesting case we have here," opening his eyes, he finds himself in the lap of a small purple haired girl. A white fog coils around him and endless white surrounds him on all sides.
"I… who are you?"
"I am Pandora and you are my newly adopted son," the girl exclaims. She traces her finger along his cheek before tilting her head to the side in a contemplative gesture. "Still your adoption is a little unorthodox. You defeated Achilles in single combat and even with all their might there are few gods who would be up to such a feat."
Pandora looks off to the side, her gaze distant before continuing. "Although you killed him, you did not face him in all his godly might," tapping her chin lightly Pandora's face brightens into a smile.
"Nonetheless a worthy child is still a worthy child. A gift from the heavens. You will be reborn as a Campione. The God-slayer, the King of Kings," she leans down and kisses Shioon's forehead. He loses consciousness immediately after.
"I look forward to your exploits my dear child."

Due to the nature of your victory over Achilles, you will only gain one of the below Authorities until your Aspect of Divinity reaches a certain level.
[ ] Andreias Amarantos - When Achilles was born, he was bathed in the River Styx except for his heel. This Authority represents his immortal body. If Shioon's Aspect of Divinity exceeds his opponents by 5 he is completely invulnerable to their attacks except for a designated weak point. If it is equal or less than 5, he takes half damage. This Authority has no effect if the enemy's Divinity exceeds Shioon's.
[ ] Troias Tragoidia - Achilles' three horsed chariot can move through the sky and lay waste to all beneath it. Drawn by three horses, two of which are immortal divine beasts, it is almost impossible to stop.
[ ] Diatrekhon Aster Lonkhe & Akhilleus Kosmos - The spear and shield of Achilles are wondrous divine constructs with great power. The shield is indestructible and when fully invoked can block all but the most destructive attacks. The spear seeks the heart of its enemies. Wounds inflicted by it cannot be healed.
