Yanmei achieved Cyan by the age of 22I wonder how Yanmei compares to Ling Qi's "class" at the sect. Probably on Liling and Meizhen's level, I bet.
Ling Qi, even after the setback in cultivation, is well set for achieving Cyan by 20.

How old is LQ now? I have completely lost track.Yanmei achieved Cyan by the age of 22

She's 17 by now, we calculated that her bday was during week 37/ month 10 of the year
Absolutely, I think Ling Qi, and Ji Rong even more so, are at worst as talented as Meizhen and Liling. We're almost certainly more talented than Renxiang, since we even managed to catch up to her for a bit.
I'm not sure I agree with this part. Renxiangs way has some pretty significan leadership and administration aspects, and a big chunk of the third realm is testing and refining your insights as much as possible before they solidify going into cyan.Pair this with the fact that Liling and Meizhen's responsibilities boil down to "get stronger," while Renxiang was literally saddled with running a proto government, wining and dining inner sect cultivators, jumping literally across the country to fight a bunch of bandits, going on a massive walk trip to foreign lands, handling a very delicate diplomatic summit, and yet she's STILL just a stage below them can make the argument that she would be their equal. (Though Meizhen is getting Ambassadorial Responsibilities)

Between the self-reinforcing echo-chamber of Qiyi, Hanyi, and Suyin, Qi is gonna be horrified at what her fashion style will develop(devolve) into, and helpless too stop it.Time for Qiyi to meet Auntie Suyin and get her necro-goth phase started
Shenhua, of course, is talking to Liming thereBetween the self-reinforcing echo-chamber of Qiyi, Hanyi, and Suyin, Qi is gonna be horrified at what her fashion style will develop(devolve) into, and helpless too stop it.
Shenhua: Why can't you be more like that trendsetting fashionista of a retainer you have, my daughter?
I think different Ways might inherently grow at different rates, even for equally talented and funded cultivators. I'd imagine something based around administration and Doing Things Correctly would lend itself to a steady and deliberate pace (which might even be part of why Shenhua keeps pushing her so hard) while Liling definitely seems like more of a move fast and break stuff sort of cultivator.I'm not sure I agree with this part. Renxiangs way has some pretty significan leadership and administration aspects, and a big chunk of the third realm is testing and refining your insights as much as possible before they solidify going into cyan.
I'd argue that putting her ideals and views to the test in a wide variety of circumstances was at worst a net zero, if not a boon for her cultivation.
I think that the challenges would've existed regardless, but my theory was always that due to the "Fitting," Shenhua needed to instigate stuff so that RXN wouldn't be "dilly-dallying" in the lower realms.I think different Ways might inherently grow at different rates, even for equally talented and funded cultivators. Sure, I'm just saying that I think it's especially important for the way CRX has. Administration could get dangerously ivory tower, but the constant need to address problems outside her direct control has pushed her to be more about the intersection of idealism/perfectionism and reality.I think that the challenges would've existed regardless, but my theory was always that due to the "Fitting," Shenhua needed to instigate stuff so that RXN wouldn't be "dilly-dallying" in the lower realms.
Tribulations Unending and all that.
Which I think is fairly different from the orthodox draconic idea of how to address conflicts. I'm fairly sure the Sage's mom would just say that you need a bigger hammer to force everyone into the roles you've prescribed for them, and not having the raw power to make that possible is a skill issue. It's a good mindset, an ideal system needs to not be brittle enough to collapse at the first sign of challenge or calamity. It should be capable of flexing without deforming

Are you sure you don't mean "so old" and no "so low" ?It was strange to think that something so low could have so little power.
Yeah that is how it works So like a peer can't murk lq by lobbing a bomb into a mortal village since she'll only take a pinprick from protecting each one(their surroundings might be super fucked up by the attack, and bring them to more harm though.)Your own defense techniques do not reduce this. You may not lose qi greater than an individual target's total cultivation plus one from any individual instance. (Protecting an individual R1 cultivator you take a maximum of R2 potency damage as qi loss from techniques effecting them.) You may choose to include or exclude individuals in this effect.
@yrsillar , how does this work with, like, huge overkill hits? If a G3 attack hits a dozen R1 people, is it that none of them take any damage, and Ling Qi takes R2x12 in lost Qi?
