Thread text issue

Hello I have recently switched to using LibreWolf after Mozilla has updated their privacy policy. however I have run into a strange issue where all the spaces seem far to large. I hope this can be remedied with a setting but if not I will seek an alternative browser.

I just checked that thread in LibreWolf and do not see the same problem. As such, I have to assume that it's a problem with something else.

That digits in your screenshot are acting weird as well indicates either a font issue or some kind of setting/extension that you've got changing things, but it's almost certainly a local issue and not something the site can fix.

after some tinkering in the Inspector if I force the text in BBWrapper class to use the font family 'Trebuchet MS',Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif' the formatting is fixed but I'm not sure how to automatically apply this fix. should I try to make an extension that forces SV to use this font family or is there some simpler method I am missing?

Locally forcing the font isn't what I would recommend for a fix. Checking the status of your Calibri and/or Corbel fonts (the defaults the site sets for the BBWrapper), or the fallback setting for the default "sans-serif" font in your browser/OS, would be the better choice.

It could be that your local fonts are corrupt and that's causing your problems.

oh ok I think I just don't have calibri or corbel, I guess web browsers don't download fonts and just use what is on hand.

Edit: no installing those fonts hasn't fixed it.

Edit 2: well it's less than ideal but I have deleted the font that was causing the odd spaces is seems a bit overkill but fortunately it was only an emoji font so it's not the end of the world. thank you CmptrWz for your help

@Neodymium a bit late but this might be an issue with the "resistfingerprinting" option being default on, which disables the use of locally installed fonts. maybe try turning that off?

it's a measure to try and make it harder for websites to easily harvest data like "what fonts are you using, what size is your monitor, what's your resolution, what operating system are you using, what's your timezone etc" which then form a digital fingerprint of your online presence that can be tracked. but it's also pretty darn inconvenient by taking such strict measures to protect digital privacy and many things simply break.

Best of luck!
