In Destiny, small machines called Ghosts resurrect chosen members of humanity who fulfilled certain requirements. Humanity was attacked by an overwhelming nebulous threat and has fallen into ruin, with scavengers and those willing to take advantage of suffering on all sides, human and alien alike.
