Things I Don't Like About Being An Anime Fan On Youtube

Every time I watch an anime review or analysis or history or anything related to anime on Youtube my feed and recommendations get flooded by "Top Funny Moments of Anime" or "Best Anime Moments" and all of them have eyecatches which are nothing but giant comically sized close-ups of boobs and I don't fucking want to watch giant boobs on Youtube why are you doing this to me I never click on thsi clickbait softcore prono videos why do you do this to me I can't show my friends my youtube hommepage anymore gaaaahhhh!

Anyway, that just annoys me a bit.

Well right clicking and choosing Not Interested might help.
 
Have you tried deleting you watch history? I do that every time before I sign off of YouTube. I don't like having anything recommended to me.
 
Also the Top 10 Best/Worst anime lists, even when they say 'of all time', always seem to consist solely of what is popular to praise or hate in the past one or two seasons. Short attention spans. :V

I was looking at some wuxia trailers and some of the suggested links were full on porn movies. Gotta love YouTube.
 
There's this one thumbnail kept popping up on my recommendation. It's top ten yadda-yadda as well, but with a guy with his face between a girl's breast. The girl actually turned red from that. Then there's the bedroom shenanigans thumbnails.

I used my laptop inside the library, mostly I don't care much but it's really annoying because I'll never open those videos.

The most frequent of course the Mother's Basement's(or was it Digibro?) video on why SAO has the shittiest opening ever. With Kirito's sister's crotch shot as the thumbnail. I'm the one feeling embarrassed from that.

Which is a shame because I actually like Mother's Basement's videos. But that's a terrible thumbnail.

My solution, which definitely will not work for everybody, is to go into my browser's settings and specifically forbid "youtube.com" from ever storing cookies on my computer. Once you've done that, delete any preexisting cookies that youtube has already stored on your computer.

The end result of this? It's completely impossible for youtube to store any search history or make use of your viewing history in any way.

The downside however is that, as should be expected, it also makes it completely impossible to ever log in to YouTube, and it inexplicably makes it impossible for the Comments section to ever load at all.

There are no other side effects to this, although I would love if someone could figure out a way to let me at least read the comments while doing that.

This wouldn't be a problem if say playlists or a favorites list isn't important to you, but I've found that it is. It's probably much simpler to use the tools YouTube already gives you to dismiss suggestions and let it learn from there.

See, that's the thing, my goal isn't to say "don't give me this type of suggestion". My goal is "don't give me any suggestions whatsoever".
