There Was A Different Idea: An MCU Producer Quest

No Fox does, as per the informational post about IP's owned by other companies.
......that's unacceptable. A marvel universe where Antarctica isn't dinosaurs land is not a marvel universe worth the name. This is a grave injustice that we must rectify at some point. But bringing the first family home and acquiring the power of DOOM are our priority right now.

Alright, votes are closed. Deadpool+Fantastic Four it is. Update will be tomorrow since I'm feeling a bit tired.

Usually we'd go back and start with the Captain America Film, but we've been working on a TV show. So, for this time only, I'll leave it up to you guys.

Want to go back and start work on Captain America, or continue until we finish this TV series?

I would prefer to finish the TV series. It's chronologically first to be produced and something might come up that could give us context for Cap.

Just doing Cap first and "going back" to do War Machine feels like it would make the show less important.

Going to summarize some thoughts for Phase 2

Phase 1
Iron Man
Hulk
Thor
Hawkeye
Iron Man 2
Wonder Man
Captain America
Avengers

Phase 2 (Not necessarily in this order, doesn't have to be this exact number of movies)
Hulk 2
Fantastic Four
Wonder Man 2
Iron Man 3
Thor 2
SHIELD / Captain America 2 / Hawkeye 2 (Depends on which one is more profitable and/or makes more sense from a story perspective)
Brother Voodoo / New Character
Avengers: Masters of Evil

I think something like this works for Phase 2
  • I see Hawkeye easily being incorporated into a Captain America sequel and vice-versa for Captain America in a Hawkeye sequel.
  • Iron Man and Thor being the 2 most profitable franchises so far should get sequels
  • Hulk sequel and Fantastic 4 so we can mollify the executives and actually use the IP we paid for.
  • Wonder Man sequel incorporating the Deadpool rights that we bought for the same reason
    • Having Simon play Deadpool in an in-universe movie pulled into the real world by the Reality stone that Nefaria somehow got his hands on: potentially unearthed by archeologists or stolen from a magical faction, etc.
  • Have Avengers phase 2 movie being Masters of Evil.
    • I think what we could do for this movie that makes the most sense with the build up so far is have Nefaria using his connections, hiring each member of the "masters of evil" (prior villains from earlier MCU movies) to work for him (either in the long run or just one-off mercenaries depending on what makes sense on a per villain basis)
      • Depending on which villains are used, some may work for cash others might be loyal for other reasons like maybe The Leader appreciates Nefaria respecting his intelligence and giving him the opportunity to do science if Nefaria was able to rescue him and take him to Bagalia to avoid extradition. Recruitments like this could be done over time throughout Phase 2 in post-credit scenes.
      • The job/task would be the beginning of the movie and most likely would be to take back 2-3 infinity stones (Space, Reality, maybe Power too) from SHIELD or whomever has them at this point in time, so he can do the "Bagalia transformation" idea.
    • This way we can have our cake and eat it too. We can have a villain's grand scheme over the course of multiple movies finally coming to a climax with Nefaria, and have a lot of action scenes with our heroes and a bunch of the most well liked villains from Phase 1 and 2 of the MCU returning as some quality fanservice done right.

One of the ideas I had for the Bagalia transformation idea is that if we establish the stones are too dangerous to be used by mortal men, we could have Nefaria, after being defeated and the heroes are about to use the stones to undo the transformation, grabs the reality stone and makes the changes permanent, at the cost of his life, to ensure his daughter has a good life and as a final parting blow to the heroes. It also works with the idea of his actions being seen by the public with rose-tinted glasses after the fact turning him into a martyr. Also it's probably the best way to humanize his ambition: he does everything for his family.

Or if we want to do something different we could instead of doing a Hawkeye 2 we could do a Shield movie with Fury, Coulson, Mocking bird. Hawkeye and Black widow
True. I could definitely see Cap being a good way to balance that movie if it has darker tones.

The consequences of that movie could also be what gives Nefaria and the Masters of Evil an opening, like if all of SHIELD's secrets get leaked, or the agency is put in disarray for one reason or another.

Speaking of... we plan to have Nefaria and thus Brendan maintain a central role in the MCU to come, will we be constantly under the barrel of Berk? Is there anything we can do to preempt that? Use our own influence to ensure a fair reception of our movies, or something?

You know, with my omake of Matt Miller going around and giving kids money to buy Marvel tickets and stuff, I might start writing more of these omakes showing Matt Miller to be a great person in general, not just in the studio. Interviews from actors detailing how enjoyable Matt was to be around, Matt helping people purchase groceries, just him being a darling of the people. :D

Matt doing some interviews on the late night talk show circuit? Would be fun to do an omake where he's interviewed on the Colbert Report.
