Do it. You know you want to. We're likely to only get one chance to release a film on April Fool's, maybe two depending on how long the quest runs. And Wonderman is kinda the perfect film for that.

Hey you guys think that cause Hayden played Wonder Man's brother and him being a tragic figure, that people will say this is how Anakin should have been in the Prequels?
I expect that some will say we could have done the Prequels better then Lucas.

It's probably a bad idea, but I think it'll be fun to see the result - a film coming out without much marketing lead on April 1st could result in a strangely large amount of publicity if people actually end up writing "The Wonder Man Film is No Joke" type articles.

Once more the news about delays from a Marvel movie spread through the fandom, once more the fandom tried to remain strong under the circumstances. However, when further delays were announced the doubt began to nib on their minds. After all, one can expect that for The Invincible Iron Man, the sequel to one of the best Marvel movies ever made. Did not such a movie required time? The results had proved their faith right back then.
The same could not be said for Wonder Man however. The character had been even more obscure than Hawkeye at some points, with most fans, when asked about him, could only reply "The Vision imprinted thoughts came from him." When the news about the delays, the reshoots, and the Production issues came out (as they always do) many fans started to lose hope. When the final product was finally aired the response was mostly lukewarm from the fans, especially as none thought that a Superhero movie could be a comedy and still have the same weight that made the previous Marvel movies so superior.
Well, at least at first.
Wonder Man opened to mediocre numbers at first, with very little reception by fans at first. However, it was the regular moviegoers who went in greater numbers, and who spread the word faster to all about the new comedy Superhero movie, one who buckled the previous norms and tropes yet managed to remain faithful to the spirit of the genre.
Those who had never even heard of Wonder Man till then came and were sent into stitches and gut busting laughter when they saw the antics of Ryan Reynolds and Robin Williams, the interactions between the character of Simon and Darcy who resembled more those of a romantic comedy which enhanced rather than detracted from the movie; and they saw within all the laughter the story of a man who tried his best to live up to a life of responsibility, one he is ill suited for yet constantly tries and fails (often with embarrassing results).
From them more and more came to the cinemas, intrigued by this new hero and by the lure of a good comedy. Soon the numbers began to grow as even fans noticed the swell of support for a previously obscured character and began to appreciate the previously "boring" and "invincible" character. Wonder Man thus became the definitive proof that a character can be properly re-interpreted properly, and still have many of its own core characteristics.
It was not only the Main Characters that shined though, for the antagonists were drawing attention as well. Hayden Christensen, another of the reasons why many chose not to go see it, soon became a favorite of the audience, his fall to villainy and slow "seduction" for lack of a better word mirroring the previous role which he had been criticized so heavily before. Many seeing him on screen could only leave asking "Was he always this good?" Much praise has been heaped upon him, with many letters from Star Wars fans demanding him to "Do the prequels right!" with a petition already circulating in the internet.
Usually having too many antagonists would threaten to dilute the danger and have many of them be more like carbon caricatures of their characters. Yet it's not the case this time as both Scarecrow and the Living Laser play each other perfectly. One with the motivation, yet not the power, to take down Simon, while the other has the power, but hardly the motivation to care. In here is where Luchino Nefaria enters to properly mold everything to his wishes, displaying the keen strategic and scientific genius that made him the Head of the Maggia. Brendan gave the role everything he had and it worked like a charm. Audiences could not get enough of seeing lovable, goofy Brendan suddenly behave in such a villainous way without breaking character. It's only because they could see from the outside that they knew he was evil, otherwise he passes as an affable, caring and just outright friendly type of guy.
But you have to admit that the bulk of the audience was in for the Main Protagonists. Ryan Reynolds managed to breathe new life to the character, with a cocky disposition, a fragile confidence and ego, and many regrets he tries to keep back. It's here where the relationship with Darcy Lewis is given a chance to shine. In many ways she can see him for who he is and cut to the bone of the matter, yet she is not without flaws, with her tunnel vision and outright rude delivery making her isolated from nearly everyone around her. Both sides manage to find a middle ground, and while they may argue, there is also a sign that they do care for each other, even if they are not willing to admit it yet.
And you could not talk about this movie without speaking about Robin Williams! Most movie goers flocked to the theaters mostly to see him, even if they fell in love with the rest of the cast as well. Robin delivers one of his most iconic performances so far. He's made the role his own, as he often tends to do, so you're sure you'll have to bring him back at some point.
His Mid-Credit scene alone made it into the Internet somehow, and the Post-Credit scene had the entire commmunity of fans talking and theorizing. Loki had last been seen with the Kree, what was his plan now? And how did Nick Fury got his hands on the glowing cube? What was the glowing cube? More and more questions were generated, and with it came the curiosity and desire to get the answers, even if it meant seeing all the rest of the movies.
Just as planned.
With the growing numbers, the interest and buzz being generated online, you were sure that this would be one for the ages, the vindication for selecting him over Hulk for a solo movie…and it would have been perfect had it not been for Phillip fucking Berk getting petty about you ignoring his blacklisting of Brendan and using his own contacts with critics to have your film denigrated without the chance to fight back!
God you hate that bastard! There was nothing you could do however, as criticism always tends to be more subjective, and they made sure to frame their language to never actually be insulting, just somewhat condescending. This reduced somewhat the flow of viewers until word of mouth could convince them to attend.
At least you skipped the release of Green Lantern at the beginning of April…that would have been a disaster!
All in all, for your first outing for a less than popular hero…
Domestic Box Office: $309,716,583

It wasn't half bad.
Mid-Credits Scene: Neal Saroyan is seen being contacted by an unknown figure about a possible job before refusing and hanging up. The figure is later revealed to be Agent Coulson
Post-Credits Scene: Nick Fury offers Luchino Nefaria a chance to clean his record if he works with them on the "glowing cube" while an unseen Loki looks and speak with Nefaria.
Cameo: Stan Lee cameos as the long-suffering victim of Simon's mishaps during his training/moments of fame montage.
Hell yeah. Now, it's time to bring on Cap. Who do we want? Tbh, going with IRL looks like a fine choice, Chris Evans nailed Cap, I believe although I saw somewhere that Sebastian Stan tried out for the role and that would be ironic….
Well I think that turned out pretty good, it's not the best results but it showed that we can do something different when the superhero genre instead of what we have usually shown.
I guess Ryan couldn't perform Deadpool numbers given the obscurity of Wonder Man. Still, this was a decent showing to a character almost no one probably heard of.
Guess we should stick with more popular characters for a while until we build the MCU reputation more.
