It had been around one year since the first Indian Flu pandemic. The Indian Flu ended up gaining an official scientific name, but at that point the common name had stuck because of the country where it all began. While it was not a particularly deadly strain of flu, it was the most infectious disease in history, quickly spreading across the globe. There was a lot of scare about how deadly the Indian Flu could get, but it never intensified and most cases cleared up within a week of the symptoms showing themselves. It looked like the Indian Flu would go down in history as a medical marvel and a brief footnote, but nothing more... until it came back.

Many who had fell ill from the first Indian Flu pandemic began receiving the same symptoms, but they had intensified. This second pandemic would be known to a few as a resurgence from the virus, which had only been defeated by the immune systems of a minority. It had instead gone dormant inside most of the victims for the past year, and now that it had come back, people were beginning to panic again.

Nobody had any idea what was to come.

Very soon after the first wave of casualties began, the disease showed its true nature by defying nature itself. It seemed impossible, but those who died of the flu came back from the dead as what could only be described as zombies. It wasn't long until chaos spread across the earth, soon leaving a hellish world of walking corpses.

What stage of the second pandemic were you currently experiencing?

[] It was the earlier part of the first week. People everywhere are getting sick and details about everything are getting swallowed up in the panic.

[] It was the later part of the first week. The dead rising was now something that was known. People are still getting sick and civilization seems to be falling apart from the chaos.

[] It had been a few weeks. At this point, it is clear that humanity is fighting a losing battle, but the survivors still cling to the thoughts of rebuilding civilization.

[] It had been a few months. There weren't many people left alive. All that is left is to survive and find a purpose to give this brave new world.

Introduction: 2
Now that we have determined when you are in the world of the dead, we need to decide where you are.

Nearly the entire world is open for your character to exist in. Pick what country you wish to reside in and I'll deal with narrowing down your location within that country next update. Silly answers such as the Pitcairn Islands and Antarctica won't count.

[] Pick a country.

As for the country, is your character native to it?

[] Yes.

[] No.

That will decide where you are in the world, but where you are in life is also important. What age group does your character belong in?

[] Younger child.

[] Older child.

[] Teenager.

[] Younger adult.

[] Middle aged adult.

[] Older adult.

[] Elder.

Introduction: 3
Thailand's shape and placement at both the center of mainland Southeast Asia and leading into maritime Southeast Asia make it an interesting tropical country with specific geographical features. Before we narrow down the region of the country, what kind of populated area do you currently reside in? The larger the population, the more dangerous things will be, but greater will be your opportunities to gain supplies, allies, and more.

[] A rural area, whether it be out in the country or in a smaller town.

[] A smaller city that adds a breath of life to the rural surrounds.

[] The suburbs of a major city.

[] The major city itself.

Now to decide the region of the country you reside in. You can select a specific province or leave things up to me.

[] Northern Thailand; a primarily mountainous area with many forests and river valleys.

[] Northeastern Thailand; mainly known as Isaan because of its people, it is situated on the Khorat Plateau and is mainly an agricultural region.

[] Central Thailand; the most populated area of the country that is mostly plains, but with some mountainous forested areas in the far west. Bangkok is in this region, so be wary of undead spillover if you choose not to brave the cities.

[] Eastern Thailand; the smallest region of the country with maritime areas and small islands, but plenty of former tourist spots. It is more mountainous in the northern area.

[] Southern Thailand; the region dips down into the Malay peninsula and much closer to the equator. Rainforests may make the region appear remote, but the coastlines and islands have many former tourist destinations.

And a little map to show where the regions are:

Out of physical, mental, and social ability, which is your forte? Which one is your weakness?

How has the apocalypse been to you?

Do you have someone important to you that is still alive? What are important things for you nowadays?

[] Write in.

[] Pyro, I'm laaaaazy. Give me some premade characters to pick from.

Part 1: 1
You placed the three candles on the ground in front of you before taking your backpack off and setting it aside. There had been great upheaval in this abandoned home that temporarily became your shelter for a few days, but you would try and maintain order within to combat the chaos outside. The candles were lit with a single match, and you sat in a meditative stance and closed your eyes. You needed to focus and find your drive for the trials that would come...

Mekhala had warned you not to go to Hae Pha Khuen That with the spike in illnesses and their steady increase. You insisted that it was important to your newly awakened spiritual self. That was true, but you still should have listened to her. At the temple's home city of Nakhon Si Thammarat is where you first experienced Mara revealing himself to the world once again, showing that this flu was actually a sickness of the soul. The mental afflictions that had plagued so many unenlightened ones took hold of them and consumed them... you were one of the lucky few that had taken the proper steps towards enlightenment to avoid the initial spiritual plague...

Your mind was wandering on past regrets. The constant dirge of the dead outside was not helping your focus. You survived the initial panic, you survived the decay of the world as the dead consumed it. You had to hide from the preta made incarnate, moving when the crowds thinned and the dead were distracted elsewhere. You saw so many people die, so many come back tainted, so many that you could not help...

No. All of these negative thoughts would consume you if you kept dwelling on them. You had to do these things to survive. The people that were sick were already dead... there was nothing you could do to save them. But now was the time to bring enlightenment into the world. Now was the time to help others.

You sighed as you opened your eyes and snuffed out the candles before placing them back into your backpack. Maybe you would have a successful meditation some other time. Your thoughts had been racing as the fear from the masses of dead outside subsided with their numbers. Though you could still hear them outside, you knew that there were few enough that you could move safely again.

And move you had to. Mekhala and darling Apsara were waiting for you. You knew they were spared from the illness thanks to your recent spiritualism starting to rub off on them. Mekhala was resourceful... she would survive just like you did here. You just had to make it back to your home in Pattaya to see where she had gone...

You slung the backpack over your torn robes and adjusted the jeans you had found to wear under the mostly torn lower part of the robes. You had some canned food left and a two bottles of water... that could last you a day. But would it be enough?

[] Perhaps it would be a good idea to search some surrounding homes for further supplies.

[] Time is of the essence. The dead may very well come back to this town soon.

Part 1: 2
It was a long journey before you... you had no idea when you would find another safe haven or be able to restock on supplies. It was probably for the best to search some of the other nearby homes before you departed.

You glanced out a window near the house's front door and immediately decided to go out the back due to seeing several dead lurking in the streets. You slipped out the back door and quickly looked around to see if any dead were nearby.

None were in your immediate vicinity, so you relaxed and looked around for some homes that were safe to search. There were plenty across the street from your former shelter, but that would undoubtedly get you unwanted attention if you went that way. Still, there would be plenty of homes to search if you were quick enough...

[] Search the home off in the distance up a hill. That looked secluded enough.

[] May as well stick to the few houses parallel to your former shelter.

[] You could see a larger home out of the way, but there were quite a few dead near it...

[] Risk it and look at the homes across the street.

Part 1: 3
While it was important to gain several supplies for the road, you also didn't want to spend too much time in this town. Some other homes may have looked like safer or bigger targets, but the neighboring homes were more convenient to check.

The first home you checked was unfortunately locked up tight. Sure, you could break a window by finding a large enough rock, but that would alert plenty of the dead to your location. But the house next door to that one had been broken in to.

You knew immediately upon entering the home that you had company. An elderly male zombie growled as it turned to face you. His clothes were disheveled just like the home and skin was starting to slough off one of his arms. As he began shambling towards you, to more undead entered the room from elsewhere in the house. One was a young boy missing an arm, and the other was a waifish woman with long, tangled hair that had the area around her mouth chewed off, exposing a ghastly toothed grin. You may have been desensitized to the blood and gore as you witnessed the chaos of the dead coming back to life from your initial hiding spot, but those damned white eyes still creeped you out...

[] You could take them with your martial skills and whatever was around the house.

[] Play it safe and dispatch them with your knife.

[] Lure them outside, enter from one of the broken windows, and close the door you entered from to trap them outside.

[] Just move to the next house.

Part 1: 4
There was no sense in engaging in risky combat in this situation. You had a clear way out and a few clear ways to get back in the house. You slowly walked backward as the three undead approached you, glancing back every now and then to check your footing and position.

"That's it... come on you stupid fucks..." you said quietly to yourself as you opened the back door you entered from and went outside, the three hungry zombies slowly following in pursuit. A few other undead outside took note of you, but you'd easily give them the slip and something else would likely grab their attention.

Once you were a safe enough distance from the door, you ran past the three zombies and jumped through a broken window near the back door, which was promptly closed. They would be too dumb to move around to the window, so you were safe for now so long as the rest of the house was empty.

A quick scout of the home showed that it was indeed empty for now, but it had also been heavily ransacked. All you could find that could possibly be of use was a deck of playing cards to pass the time before bed, and a cigarette lighter that could save you some matches. This pathetic haul discouraged you from searching more homes, but that was probably your old demon, impatience, rearing its ugly head...

[] Time to depart.

Part 1: 5
You were getting too hasty with wanting to leave. If you left with what you had in your pack now, you would undoubtedly have to search another town for supplies in two days at the least. You pressed on to the next house, making sure to slip out the window between the house you were in and the next so as to not draw the attention of the zombies beating at the back door.

The next home looked like another case of one being locked up tight, but you found that one of the windows was left unlocked! You quietly slipped in the house and closed the window behind you. You stood still for a moment as you observed your surroundings. You were in the kitchen, and the place looked unscathed. You couldn't hear anything in the house. Was this your lucky break?

[] Start stocking up.

[] Call out if anyone was home.

[] Quietly check the rest of the house.

Part 1: 6
To be safe it was best if you checked the rest of the house to see if anyone else was home. Not all zombies were obnoxiously loud mouthbreathers, after all. Everything in the home seemed to be clear... except for one closed room. You pressed your ear up against the door and could hear slow movement inside of it. It sounded like the dead were in there...

[] Ignore the room and loot the rest of the house.

[] There could be something useful in there.
