"…and I beg you, I beg you to forgive me for my weakness! For I have tried, as long as I could, to keep my silence, but I can no longer resist my feelings! Dean, Victoria… I love you."

At those words, Gallant, still kneeling on the ground, hung his head in shame, silently awaiting his friends judgment.

"That's great!" said Victoria, and Gallant raised his head in surprise. "Because, you know, me and Dean talked about you, and we love you too!"

Gallant looked at Dean who, blushing shyly, nodded his agreement, and extended his hand toward him to help him get back up.

As soon as Gallant was back on his feet, Victoria took him and Dean in her arms, and they stayed embraced in the alley, ignoring the world around them.

And that's it, folks! I might do a sequel later on, but for now, this fic is finished! I hope everyone had a fun time, and thanks to everyone who left a review!

Chris leans back in his chair, glaring indignantly at the screen of his phone.

"That's it? One hundred fifty-one chapters of mutual pining and they don't even kiss?"

Dennis peeks at the screen over his shoulder, and bursts out laughing.

"Glory, Gold and Gallantry? Really, Chris?"

"Glory, Gold and Gallantry? I've never heard of it, what is it?"

Dennis easily fends off Chris desperate attempt to stop him from answering Dean.

"It's a fanfiction in which you and your gorgeous girlfriend fall for Gallant's chivalrous charm, and proceed to spend a frankly terrifying amount of words pining for each other."

Dean looks confused.

"There's a fanfiction of me being in love with m… Gallant ?"

"Oh, there are several. Glory, Gold and Gallantry is merely the longest and most popular."

Horror is battling with confusion on Dean's face when he turns toward Chris.

"And you read it?"

Chris averts his eyes.

"In my defense, the author got personalities so wrong it doesn't feel like I'm reading about you?"

Dean looks like he's ready to cry

Of the Love of Modern Knights
Tasha is Missy's best friend. Missy likes Tasha. Tasha listens to Missy when she complains about not being taken seriously. It would be very rude of Missy to beg Tasha to stop talking when she is so obviously excited to share the last story she read.

Even if her taste in fanfiction is incredibly dubious.

"So now, Dauntless and Armsmaster are alone together!"

No. Nononononononono. No.

"And then Armsmaster leans toward Dauntless, and tells him he did very well against Kaiser."

Missy fought Hookwolf one on one and lived long enough to get away. She can make it through this.

"And then they kiss!"

Not burying her head in her hands might be the most heroic thing Missy ever did.

and time stopped for fireflies
In a dark alley in Brockton Bay, a boy is alone in the rain.

The boy is dressed in white, and for him, time will stop, but it will not go faster.

In a dark alley in Brockton Bay, Clockblocker is waiting for her.

He can be himself with her. He doesn't have to be the hero, the joker, the knight. He doesn't have to be happy all the time.

He can be himself, and so can she.

She doesn't have to be strong, scary, fighting. She can let herself be vulnerable.

They can just be quiet together.

Fireflies start dancing around him, and Clockblocker smiles.

Skitter is there.

"No. No. NO. NO."

Carlos is welcomed in the Wards headquarters by the sound of Dennis repeating 'no' with increasing horror.

"What's going on?" he asks to no one in particular.

"He read a snippet pairing him with Skitter," answers Nate from the couch.

Carlos suppresses a wince.

Skitter is scary.

Nate is Browbeat, as his civilian name isn't given in canon.

Lung's Princess
Dean is welcomed in the Wards headquarters by an onslaught of frustrated anger, and he doesn't need to look at her to know it's Missy.

Maybe she lost a fight with the Youth Guard about patrols again. Or maybe it's something about her parents. Again.

Or, given how apologetic Chris is as he tries to calm her down, maybe it's something else.

"What happened?" Dean asks Nate as discreetly as possible. He's learned his lesson about trying to mediate without knowing the situation.

Namely, it makes things worse.

"Apparently, one of her friends from school convinced her to read a fic about Vista, in which she plays the role of damsel in distress until Kid Win rescues her, and now she's pissed because people don't take her seriously," says Nate, and Dean suppresses a wince. Yes, that would do it.

"This is stupid!" screams Missy. "I'm not weak, I'm not powerless, I'm not a stupid princess, and I don't need people to save me!"

She takes a step and the room twists to let her out, door slamming behind her. Chris sighs.

"The worst part is she's right," he says. "She'd definitely be the one to save me"

Dean can't say he disagrees.
