For most of your life, you were a relatively average person. Maybe you were good at one subject or another in school. Maybe you were popular, maybe you weren't. Maybe you were decent at sports, or maybe you were an average band geek or maybe you were even something else. You probably didn't have much to do with many extracurricular activities. The Sharing seemed a little lame, but there might have been others that interested you. Still, up until this date, you had one thing that you knew for certain. You knew that humanity was the only intelligent species in the universe, and as far as anyone could show you, through any sort of tangible evidence, nothing could disprove that.

Until today. Today, as you sat in one of your classes, the classroom itself fell away, revealing a yawning abyss. Your desk remained where it was, but to your left, and to your right, nobody and nothing was there. Just you. You sat there in that moment, thinking perhaps that you drifted off to sleep. After all, this had to be a dream. Especially with what was in front of you and how it extended downward.

Your desk stood before a throne that extended for miles downward and seemed to extend further upward as well, such that you had to look up in order to see what sat atop it, but you almost wish you hadn't. The creature sitting atop the throne stared down at you, apparently a being made up entirely by a blood-red cybernetic eye.

"My Lord Crayak bids you welcome to his humble abode, human." The voice came from a creature that can best be described as a theropod-like saurian with two skinny legs. It had a stubby tail and two multi-jointed arms clearly developed for an environment with a lower gravity than Earth. Its head was oddly humanlike, but its jaw was narrower than a human's; its face was wrinkled, resembling a raisin. The creature's skin was dark and wrinkled, like its face. Its lips and eyes were the same shade of green. This was definitely not anything that would be found on Earth. "I am his servant, Drode."

"Taking without permission, Crayak?" A voice came from beside you, and when you looked, its source seemingly an older man of indeterminate race and indeterminate age.

Ellimist. This will be my pawn.

"No. This person has the ability to choose."

You will oppose me on this?

"Vehemently."

You aren't entirely sure what's going on here, but you know something's off.

A test then. A challenge. Ellimist, this pawn will be granted power.

"And how they choose to exercise it will be their choice."

Agreed. The power will be one that your pets share. Escafil.

"Agreed. I will return this person to where you took this person from."

It looks like you aren't being given much choice in the matter, as you feel a tingle of something wash over you and you end up back in your classroom, but everyone is frozen in time. The person who had been called Ellimist by what you can assume was Crayak looks at you.

"I am sorry that you have been brought into this. You have been granted the power of the Escafil device, that is to say, you now have the ability to change your form, to morph into something which you acquire through touch, for two Earth hours at a time. Beyond that point and you will be trapped in the form of your morph. You are free to act as you will with this power. Use it however you wish, but know this. Earth is being invaded by beings which can take over bodies. Yeerks. They control a number of different hosts already, and I cannot tell you who without contaminating the process. They are opposed by a group of children, much like yourself. Who have the same abilities."

The Ellimist looks you over. "Now, I'm sorry, but I really should know your name before you begin. I'd also like to make sure that the Crayak didn't do any tampering."

What is your gender?

[] Male

[] Female

What is your name?

[]Write-in

The Ellimist nods, and waves his hand. Apparently the answer was good enough for him, as time began again. You couldn't really pay attention the rest of the period, after all, things had been strange. When the period ended, you knew you had some things to do. While school did continue for the rest of the day, you were sure that it was possible to do something more.

What would you do?

[]Finish out the schoolday and keep an eye out for people like you?

[]Cut class and go out to figure out this power of yours?

-[]Go to The Gardens to try and find an animal?

-[]Go to the park to try and find an animal?

-[]Go home and find your pet?

[]Something else? What?

I really want to know how are we going to do this.

Well, we know there are other people with the power, go track them down?
If we can figure out Thought Speech it'll be easier and generally acting like a weird animal while in the forest should attract either Tobias or Aximili.

Well, if you guys want, you can expand on how you think it would work.

I don't vote on my phone, so I'll wait until tomorrow morning (well, later today by now) to vote.

I'll be voting for the Gardens though, rather than seeking out the Animorphs immediately.

I don't want to seek the others but I want to keep things normal.
If we suddenly cut class someone will notice right?

In Animorphs?
Remember this is the school where they built a high-tech tunnel system without the teachers realising.

I mean sure, Chapman, but not every teacher is Yeerk infested.

Speaking of, am I the only one wondering why he didn't infest the teachers and organise a field trip to the Sharing for all the kids?
Then make some excuse for the kids to bring their parents, maybe they want to go to some "bring your parents" picnic or they want to sign up for an event which needs parental approval in person?

Point on the tunnel system I suppose.
If memory serves right Yeerk needs to get into a pool once a week? Month? Organizing that many humans to come and go without rousing suspicion might be a little hard.

Yeerks need Kandrona radiation (naturally produced by their home star) approximately once every three days, Earth Standard. Crayak's first appearance was when the Yeerk that had infested Jake (named Temrass, if anyone cares) was starved to death; as Temrass died, Jake saw a vision of Crayak - and It saw him.

Visser Three has Hork-Bajir guards keep Allanon under VERY heavy restraint when its' time for him to swim in the Pool for his dose of Kandrona.

Three days, and that's what the Sharing meetings were for.
Also it's not hard to organize people if their whole household are in on it. They build Yeerk tunnels into the Mall, the school, a McDonalds, a hospital (I think, it might just have been a feeding pool with no link to the greater network) and a few other places. Including a random tunnel in the middle of nowhere, which is also their launching point for aircraft.

Sure, there might be an uptick in mall business and family hiking trips, but when you have a whole school district things become significantly easier due to less curious eyes.

[X] Finish out the day, keep your eyes open for anything strange.
-[X] Reconsider things that might have seemed 'off' but within reason before but might seem more suspicious in hindsight.
-[X] If a chance naturally occurs between classes, see if you can find an animal.
-[X] Whatever else you do, don't draw extra attention to yourself.

I'll probably close the voting on Wednesday. I plan on doing one or two updates a week on this. This will be in addition to my other stuff.
