[X] Sitting snugly on your ring finger is a simple band of unadorned silver.
/////
You stared at the gently rustling leaves and reached up to grasp at them.
Something glints and catches your eye. There, sitting snugly on your ring finger is a simple band of unadorned silver.
A simple silver band that represented so much happiness in your life that it really was absurd.
You ignored the canopy above you in favor of focusing on the wedding band and slowly rolling it in your fingers not really thinking of anything. You had been on your way home when you had woken in this corpse of trees that almost defied belief in their abundance and the sheer beauty of this place.
Levering yourself to your feet, you take a moment so sweep the area as you had done many times before, and as you did so you found your knapsack and Bo, along with a few other bits and bobs that you had been carrying, the most important one by far however was the small pack of fire-stones you had bought from the last town you visited, simple things really.
Small and smooth, warm to the touch when held, a soothing warmth that belied their immense power when actually activated.
You had little knowledge into their inner workings and what made them tick, but you knew enough to use them. Cupping them in your hands and holding them closed, tight enough that no light could peek in and the heat would cause them to react, in a usually violent way, save the civilians had figured out how to use them for non military purposes, these fire-stones burned longer, but at the price of intensity compared to their military counterpart. Perfect for starting a fire however.
Gain 11 Fire-stones. [6 + 1d6 = 11]
Scooping them up, they were soon snuggled away tightly in your constant companion, the Knapsack. They had their own little pouch, as stable as the civilians had managed to get them, they still had a tendency to explode whenever shaken around too much.
That set, you swiftly checked all the other components in the bag and found exactly what you were expecting. All your food was still there, enough to last perhaps a week if you rationed it out well, along with water and a small poultice of lesser healing. That particular poultice you'd made yourself. It was on par and even better than the store bought alternatives in the area you were. It wasn't saying your skills were great, no you only had a basic knowledge on the subject, but you suppose it just went to show how bad quality was on the fringes of society.
Still, you shake your head and get moving. As much as you would like to explore the stunningly beautiful tree and its surroundings, you feel a little uncomfortable simply checking it out when you have no idea where you are. Your goal having been set, you swing your Bo to rest on your should and trek off to check the surroundings.
As you pace around the grove that had caught your eye, you decide to check up on all the things that had piled onto your mental checklist while you were checking your supplies.
You checked your pockets and found nothing, you patted your head down and brushed off a few stray leaves that had fallen on you during your nap. With its task finished you placed your snaked your arm into your tunic and feeling grateful to yourself that you had sprung for the snazzier option, propped the front open a bit and rested your arm on the belt that wrapped around your torso half inside your tunic and half out.
You couldn't help but pluck at the wrappings underneath though, as much as you disliked the idea of it, you simply couldn't deny the usefulness of it. A Sarashi, pragmatically, you knew it was a good idea, and a great boon to you, didn't make wrapping it less annoying though. It made for decent bandages in a pinch too.
Gender:
[ ] You plucked lightly at the bindings wrapping around almost the entirety of your torso, focusing mainly on getting some slack around your breasts, just enough to loosen them a bit but not enough that it would begin slipping.
[ ] You plucked lightly at the bindings wrapped around almost the entirety of your torso. Shifting it around enough so that it was just a little bit looser the entire way around, not loose enough to slip, but loose enough to give you some more comfort.
Just as you had finished adjusting your Sarashi you found the outer edge of the trees protecting the grove you awoke in, as you stepped out you blinked mildly as you processed the sight before you.
A flat plain of grass that extended a little beyond the edge of the trees and suddenly dropped. There was
nothing beyond that at all. Absolutely nothing. You walk over to the edge and peer over.
Nothing stares back.
You take a couple of steps back and after marking where you started, you started sweeping the outer edge of this floating isle you've found yourself on. As you carry on, you spot little that breaks the plain monotony of the green grass and the tree's. Small branches every now and then sneaking their way outwards a little, stray leaves dotting the land as they wish. One thing you did notice that there almost seemed to be sections to this floating isle as you walked in one area the tree's seemed to tint purple and at others, they seemed to take on a reddish hue.
You trip around the outside and minor introspection is broken when you hit the mark that you had made when you began.
You scuff it over and head back in, your arm still held against your chest. You sweep the area you woke in once again and find a few things you definitely didn't have on you before. You find a set of tools made from differing metals. One is of Iron, one is of Copper and the other looks have been hewn from wood.
What tool was made from Iron? (Choose One)
[ ] The Pickaxe
[ ] The Axe
You gather the tools and pick them up. Each time you do, you vaguely feel like something clicks into place somewhere deep inside of you, you couldn't point to it or otherwise know where but it just felt as though you were regaining a part of yourself after never knowing it was missing.
As you finish gathering up the tools and placing them on yourself, a chime draws your attention towards the massive grove where you had initially woken up.
Motes of light seem to bleed from the tree and surrounding flora into a gathering that grows and grows. The motes of light don't stop congregating until the swarm is roughly half the size of you.
You see the motes shudder and writhe, twist and turn before they all coalesce and a indistinct figure is left standing before you. Pale and translucent, you can still quite easily see them.
What do yo do? (Choose One)
[ ] Announce yourself to the presence? It doesn't feel hostile and you're pretty sure after having scoped the area out that there's little more to be found here.
[ ] Cough politely and let the presence introduce itself first. If it does turn out to be hostile you'll probably be able to tell by its reaction to your cough.
[ ] Write In.
