There is a story about a ship and a man, some claim that he is a hero, others that he is an ancient worrier. This is his story and the lives that he touched.
The sound of the metal of the ship creaking was the only thing that they could hear, he felt the head of Spike his dog on his left hand, and his sister Elsa was sleeping on the floor next to them.
Again the ship turned off one of the many engines or at the very least left it at the point where it was barely operating so that it could switch from one faster-than-light to the other.
His ship had changed a lot, not just because he had added the remnants of alien ships to it, but because of how much those aliens changed it.
"I'm going to jail." he says to himself, as he looks at the map in front of him.
The map showed the familiar constellations of Humanities empire.
Still, he can't help but smile, despite feeling so worried about the consequences of his actions, he can't help but look down and smile at Spike.
A long time ago, when humanity was first working on creating a faster-than-light ship that worked, a man ended up being lost in space, when the ship that he was piloting malfunctioned.
Two days later a massive alien ship appeared over Earth, it didn't make any sounds, and it didn't do anything that showed that it had any hostile intentions.
the only thing that it did, was open a large door on its side and use a light to lower both the broken ship and its pilot onto the ground.
There was no contact after that, it simply closed its giant door and flew back into space.
After that, everyone wanted to go into space and find that mysterious race, but no matter how far we looked and how much we improved our ships and engines we never found them again.
"Iron Hide, I repeat Iron Hide is that you over." he heard someone say through the radio.
"This is Iron Hide, I repeat this is Iron Hide.' he answered.
"Do you have any idea of how much trouble you are in, hold on I'm pulling all of your data."
"Just so you know a new law was passed that if anyone just flies into unknown space and does whatever they want everyone would see everything that they did."
"What I mean is that if you went out there and did.....This is impossible."
"Cut it off."
"I can't sir its automatic, the A. I isn't allowing me to stop the program."
he can't help but smile as the computer next to him begins to beep loudly as his adventure into wild space begins to spread through the star net.
He looks up and sees a picture of his family when they were all together on Earth, he ignores the patrol ships that now surround his ship, he can feel both of his dog's heads on his lap and smiles at their warmth

[The past ]
The Iron Hide creaked as it pulled another asteroid before letting it go, the ship was one of the ancient hall ships because it did what its name said, it pulled asteroids and other things.
The ship was old and it was the reason that he was able to buy it, by the laws of the empire a spaceship had to have a working F.T.L system.
The Iron Hide had two of them just like all of the older ships that were still flying around.
The reason for this was that it's a lot cheaper to just install another engine than it is to take out the old one, the reason for that is that replacing the engine meant completely changing everything from the cables to the ship body.
So most people just added another engine and used the old one to deal with the extra power.
He heard Spike bark as an asteroid flew past him, thankfully the automatic defense system managed to fire several small bursts and broke the thing before it came close enough to damage the ship.
Asteroids are a tricky thing a person can deal with one that's coming straight at them, but one that passes by a person's ship can drag the ship with it if it's not destroyed fast enough.
In a couple of days, he would be able to go home and exchange the old air of the ship for new clean air.
Maybe if he was lucky someone would have found a garden world and he could let out all of the old air there and fill his ship with clean air.
Elsa let out a soft wimper as she tried to tell him that something was going on, he turned and found that his ship had picked up a signal, but that was impossible because wild space didn't have a lot of ships in it.
Everyone out here either had a Hall ship or was a patrol ship that came to check up on everyone every once in a while.
Even pyrates don't come out here because of how dangerous it is.
The signal was repeating itself over and over again, and his ship's a.i told him that it didn't match any of the signals that were in the database.
So either this was an alien ship or someone had been doing something that they shouldn't have, either as he sent it to the higher-ups who immediately told him to deal with it on his own.
"Alright let's go see what's out there." he said to Spike and Elsa before he carefully guided his ship through the asteroids when he was on the other side he turned on the engines and flew into the unknown.
His ship stopped near where the signal was coming from and he felt the breath in his lungs leave him.
There was an alien ship, floating in space, its strange folded wings, had broken off and were now floating next to it.
The computer began to scan the alien ship and before his eyes, videos of an alien world, along with its blue skin people appeared in front of him.
The smart thing that he could do would be to go back and get one of the patrol ships to come back with him, but protocol said that any damaged ship should be pulled back home.
So he could only watch as the Iron Hide used the cables that it normally used to grab onto asteroids, to pull the alien ship towards it.
"Locking complete setting course to Homeworld." he heard his ship say.
'What! get us back to Imperial space, the higher-ups will know!" he said to his ship.
the lights around him began to turn green, then blue, and finally white.
"If a damaged alien ship is discovered and its crew is still alive, then it must be returned to its people."
"This is an ancient law created after first contact."
"This law was created to protect both the aliens from those amongst the empire who would harm them just to discover whatever they could."
'As well as a measure to prevent any higher lifeforms from deeming humanity a threat that must be purged from the universe." the ship answered him.
"There aren't any higher life forms, everything that we ever found was plants, insects, and animals." he argued as the ship continued to recreate the star map that would take him into the unknown.
"The first contact was between a Human of Earth and a race of energy lifeforms that rebuilt the man's body after it was torn apart by his ship malfunction."
"The man said that the lifeforms said to him that he was lucky to still be alive when they found him."
"Preventive measures must be taken."
"Alien homeworld found, engines are not being powered to full power."
He couldn't say anything as his ship moved faster than it ever had into a place where no person had ever gone.
The ship opened his locker and he looked at his space sout.
the damm thing was covered in armor, it was heavy and built for war, but it had to be because even the smallest space rock could turn him into the soup.
He touched the neck of the suit and it opened for him, his ship was now pulling an alien ship full of aliens, and he wasn't going to take any chances.
He stepped out of the locker after his suit closed and he looked at the many weapons next to him, all of them were normally used to deal with the pests that live in asteroids.
He picked them up one by one until all of his armories were empty, it was probably overkill, but he wasn't going to risk it.
His helmet began to fill with alien voices, that slowly began to change into the voices of people.
They still sounded odd, but at the very least he could understand them.
He held onto his shotgun and walked towards the back door of his ship, he didn't like it, but he had to make sure that the cables were properly connected or else his ship would rip itself apart.
The moment that the back door opened he found himself looking at the frightened faces of alien women and children, the creatures screamed and ran when they saw him.
He ignored them, even as they cowered when his dogs growled as they walked past him.
He heard the door behind him close so now his and his dog's fates were sealed if the aliens wanted to kill them.
He found the first cable and used a drill that was connected to his suit to separate the cable from the wall of the wall.
The cable had done its job, now the wire that the cable put into the ship would keep the ship in place.
He did this over and over again until he reached what looked like the main control of the alien ship.
He ignored the frightened and shocked faces of the alen women who desperately tried to get some control, he didn't say anything even as his helmet began to beep and he felt a cold shiver run down his spine.
"This isn't good." he said to himself, as he saw the screen in front of him fill with distress signals and his ship was heading towards the closest one.
Basic Suit
We are completely hopeless at that moment.
Our protector was completely consumed by the flames and we were at the mercy of those monsters.
We couldn't even cry, as we watched them walk closer to us.
Worse of all there wasn't anywhere else to run to.
And yet when all hope felt lost we watched as the sounds of his footsteps echoed around us, he wasn't anywhere near done and the monsters knew it.
\\\\\\
The Meteor Space unit is a basic suit used by most spacers who mine the asteroids.
The suit is heavy and is covered in layers of armor that vary in strength as well as flexibility.
The armor has several hidden components that the operator can use whenever he is doing repairs on the outside of his ship.
It is also equipped with magnetic sections that the operator can attach his tools to, so he can grab them easily.
While the suit is heavy, it allows its user near perfect memorability, well a person can move as best they can with a bulky body.
][][]
The suit comes with layers of solar radiation guards, oxygen tanks, as well as air recyclers.
It should not be needed to mention that the same applies to the water tanks and water recycling systems that keep the operator hydrated.
The waste cleaning mechanism has been made easy to use so the operator doesn't need to worry about the smell or the chance of having to endure having such things with them.
the suit also comes with multiple shields each designed to keep the user alive, should the suit be damaged or one of the many safety mechanisms fail.
][][]
The helmet comes in two separate forms that work together.
The outside helmet is for added protection, as it comes with a visor that is covered with a reflective material that helps keep the operator from going blind should they be unfortunate enough to be in the direction of a star.
The inner helmet is designed to keep a person safe with layers of armor, that are just as strong as the outer helmet, but light enough that the operator keeps the ability to turn his head.
Full Battle suit
The emergency battlesuit has all of the same systems as the standard Meteor Space Suite but with additional armor and weapons.
Space is a dangerous place and there are things such as Meteor Worms, Pyrates, Rival Companies as well as other dangers.
][[[
The Battle Suite is built with a fully automatic targeting system, that allows it to fire at an enemy even while its operator has his back turned to it.
All standard devices that a person would use while on the job have been replaced with weapons, explosives as well and anything that might be useful in a dangerous environment.
Some examples are an emergency repair kit, an emergency first aid kit, translation device in case the user needs to speak to someone who doesn't speak the same language.
][][]
It should be noted that the suit comes with an explosive device that is strong enough to destroy the average mining ship, for occasions when the user can not stand the idea of losing both his life and ship to the enemy.
This way he can deny, the beast or person any joy from the battle that has just taken place.
][][
The Armor remains just as maneuverable as the basic meteor space suit but it comes with several hidden energy blades as well as shield projectors, that can suffocate an enemy by denying them the air that they need to live.
The shields are also portable as in case the suit is destroyed, but the operator is still alive, he can eject himself and use the shields to keep himself from dying.
[][]
While the battle suit lacks the secondary helmet, it does gain the additional protection of stronger armor and an even more powerful visor.
Several more layers of the arore have added to the suit weight, but the operator can hardly tell the difference.
][][]Change][][]
She looked at the giant, which was covered in metal, she could see the many weapons that covered it from head to toe, and its gray-colored body was covered in scars, and if she looked closely, she could see what looked like red along the edges of the scars.
It was as if she was looking at the armor's original color.
The creature in front of her was massive and the weapon that it held in its righthand was as tall and almost as wide as she was.
She tried to control her breath, but she could only gasp over and over again, as the monster took control of the colony ship.
She could hear the colonists whimper as the two beasts that accompanied the creature watched them closely, it was almost as if the beasts knew that their master was busy and couldn't be disturbed.
She closed her eyes as the creature turned to look at her, and tightened her eyes closer when her copilot screamed before she whimpered and began to cry.
Her life began to flash before her eyes and she found herself back home, back to the day that everything went wrong.
It was supposed to be the greatest day of their lives, today the fourth colony ship would enter space and head to the new world.
It was supposed to be a normal thing after all people had done it more than once already, but the problems started the moment that the engines activated.
Someone had messed with the engines causing them to overload and as a result, the colony ship exploded.
It was only because the ship had been built to resist the dangers of space that it and the colonists survived, but it had been crippled by the explosion.
So the ship that should have taken them to their new home, was going to be their tumb.
They had done everything that they could and somehow managed some power back, and while they knew that the chances that anyone would find them were small they began to send out a distress signal, hoping that somehow the people back home would find them and send help.
But what found them however was a monster that they never had seen before.
She slowly opened her eyes and found the giant, staring at the screen of her ship and she couldn't help but widen her eyes as a map formed in front of her.
She felt a mixture of shock, despair, confusion, and horror at what was forming in front of her.
This creature was making a map and it led back to her homeworld.
She quickly understood that there was no way that anyone back home would find them because they were so far away that their systems would never find them, and yet this creature had used her ship's computers to locate her home.
Then the machine began to act in a way that she had never seen before and her fear only grew as the map began to fill with what she could only describe as warning signs.
She heard the creature grow before it raised its weapon and walked out of the bridge, she let out a breath of relief despite hearing the colonist's scream.
She could hear the creature loudly grunt to something but she didn't dare move and she soon heard what sounded like a mechanical voice answer.
The creatures grounted even louder but the mechanical voice answered it without a care.
A pulse of static electricity flowed through the colony ship before what could only be described as an orange glow filled the inside of the ship.
She raised her hand to look at the strange color but before long she heard the creature running out of the ship, the thought of something so big and so heavy being able to run sent chills down her spine.
She would have stood up and walked out of the bridge to check on the colonists but before she was able to, she felt her body be pulled towards her chair.
"Look!" her copilot said to her, as she pointed at the star ma and she widened her eyes at what she saw.
They were moving faster than should have been possible, a colony ship was built to house the descendants of the people that boarded it, even with a ship that had faster-than-light engines, it still took years to reach a habitable world.
But if the map in front of her was right, then the ship was moving at a speed that should have crushed it and everyone onboard, because not only had they already passed the colony worlds including the farthest ones, but they were still going.
The ship stopped moving and she felt her body being set free by whatever power had taken hold of it, the map in front of her showed that the ship had indeed stopped, but it began to change.
The screen began to fill with all sorts of things that she didn't understand, but then the screen changed and she felt her blood freeze.
There was a planet in front of her but it was on fire and one ship after another was leaving it, none of them seemed to care about the alien ship that had shown up above their world.
The screen zoomed in and showed that the planet was being swarmed by billions of giant worms.
The alien ship sent out some sort of red beam that scanned one of the worms before a red sign appeared on the screen, she didn't know what it meant only that the ship began to fly around the planet and found that all of the life on it was gone.
The only things left in that alien world were the worms.
She watched as some sort of a long cylinder flew away from her ship, no from the alien ship, and entered the planet.
She held onto her co-pilot's hands as she watched a bright flash of light emerge from where the missile hit the planet.
A wave of destructive power covered the world but it was soon gone and the only thing left was a dead rock.
She felt herself tremble as the image of what just happened played itself over and over again, even while the strange alien ships that had escaped the doomed world flew away.
A bright flash of white light was followed by a deep orange and finally, a wave of red that quickly faded and left nothing but a burned corps.
"What kind of monster ad captured them?' she asked herself but she didn't say it out loud.
Her copilot a young woman who had just passed the academy and who was supposed to be the first generation of colony pilots gasped as she desperately tried to breathe.
There were two types of pilots nowadays, those like herself, who spent years moving in space, and while she didn't have much if any experience with faster-than-light ships, her partner did.
The academy had started teaching the new generation how to pilot the new ships and what to do while using the new engines.
Unfortunately, the recruits lacked the necessary combat training that helped them keep control during situations that were out of their control.
"Hey it's going to be okay." she tried to comfort the the girl.
She took a deep breath and regained enough control over her body to make it obey her again, she shakily removed the seatbelt that kept her secured and slowly stood up.
Each step she took was more difficult than the last, it was as if her legs were made out of rubber, and every step she took made them shake violently.
She stood in front of the girl and looked at the helmet that covered her head, before using her free hand to hold onto the side of the girl's helmet.
"It's going to be okay, he didn't hurt us. So he doesn't want to hurt us." she said to the girl while using the softest voice that she could make.
A loud alarm began to ring before a red light covered the inside of the ship.
Again something was happening that she couldn't understand, and as she looked around she heard the girl in front of her finally lose what little control she had and she heard her scream.
Flashes of white and yellow light began to fill the inside of the ship but the way that the flashes appeared made her think that they were moving.
The screen changed and it showed dozens of miniature drones spinning around her ship, but behind them, the alien ship that was keeping them prisoner was changing.
The alien ship was unfolding itself, and he could only stare as the massive thing grew bigger with every passing moment.
When it was finally done, the colony ship one of the largest ships, if not the largest ship that her people could build, was nothing more but a speck when compared to the beast that surrounded it.
She fell to her knees as videos from the drones, something that her ship didn't have access to showed how they sliced through the colony ship as if it were nothing.
A ship that could resist even the most powerful weapons that her people could use, was nothing when compared to these machines.
She could only stare helplessly as her body became covered in the same orange glow from before the ship entered the void and it headed to wherever the monster wanted.
Orcs
The avarage orc has its body coverd in muschles.
They come from a world whose gravity is a lot stronger than the ones that humans can survive on without special equipment.
I made sure to point out that they all have muscles because muscles don't just come about because of some extra gravity, the average orc has the strength to tear an unarmored Human in half.
Yet despite this, they are just like us, meaning that while most are peaceful, but some need to be put down, unless they hurt anyone else.
And yes that includes other orcs.
From the information that I have been able to gather, including the ones that my ship has been able to gain, the orcs aren't an empire.
Meaning that they haven't colonized beyond their system, hell they barely have more than two worlds.
The ones that I ran into claimed to have escaped from something that they call the dark ones.
From what they said to me, they didn't know what to do with their freedom, as going home was an option because they didn't know where home was.
They only knew that they couldn't allow the dark ones to find them again, but with little to no resources, they began raiding any ship that they ran into.
For whatever reason they handed over to me all of what they gained after I defeated their leader, to me it's more than enough but for them, it's barely enough to survive.
[][]
Orcs vary in height and size, from a young age they are barely above an average human height, and while they do have stronger bodies they don't have any other difference, besides their skin color.
Orc skin color is, brown, green, and gray.
I asked them about their skin color and some claimed that there were more but they weren't on the ship when they escaped.
Orc faces vary greatly, some look almost completely Human, while others look almost as if they belong to savage monsters.
[]]
Orc males and females can be considered attractive, as their bodies vary, just as much as their faces, but no human could ever truly sexually satisfy an orc.
The main reason is their powerful bodies, I have both heard and seen them in the act, and it's violent, to say the least.
To put it simply a human wouldn't survive.
They don't do anything out of the ordinary, it's just that with that they no longer restrain themselves and go nuts.
A human body would be torn apart if an orc simply graved it with its full strength.
][][][
Children are then kept deep within the group to keep them safe from any attackers.
While I can enter their section whenever I want, I make sure to stay away from them.
Some of the elders want me to approach them but I refuse.
I can't allow myself to get attached or have anyone get attached to me.
]][][
The weapons of the orcs are simple swords, axes, and shields, along with bows and arrows.
It's strange to see that all of these things are made using some sort of hard light technology.
While they do have shields, to protect their mostly unarmored bodies, they barely work and they break after taking three or four attacks from an average weapon.
Orc bodies can take multiple attacks from average weapons, but they will die faster if the weapon is above average.
][][]
The orcs only wore enough clothing to cover any delicate or private areas, when I asked them why they did this.
the answer that they gave me, was that any more clothes would just get in the way.
Trinkets or what they call armor, are either worn on their ankles, wrists, wrists, or necks.
It took three of us to take one of those things down.
The Dark Ones, or how I call them the Dark Elves are a species of Humanoids that enslave and conquer other races.
If there was ever anything that I would call evil, it would be them.
Name the crime and they will do it with a smile on their faces, cannibalism, theft, lobotomization, and experimentation, are just a few of the things that I saw them do.
[][]
The Dark Elves are taller than an average Human and slightly taller than a person wearing a full set of work armor.
Yet they are faster and stronger than a fully armored person, their voices are somehow musical, as every time I heard them speak it sounded as if they were singing.
][][]
Their weapons vary from energy shields to grenades-whips- swords and guns that fired some sort of weapons that penetrated my armor as if it didn't exist.
What worries me is the telepaths among them, had it not been for my ship A.I., I would have fallen under their control.
MThe A. I was responsible for keeping my dogs under control when the Dark Elves tried to force them to attack me.
][][]
The Dark Elves have tall and slender bodies and while they do have some muscle none of the ones that I encountered were overly muscular.
Their hair color varied from, black-silver, and white.
their skin color varied from, back- to dark purple and as strange as it might sound dark blue.
Their eyes varied just as much, as some had glowing red eyes, others deep blue eyes, that seemed to take the light from whatever room they were in.
Others simply had light gray eyes.
][][][
Their armors varied both in material and design.
Some were completely naked and didn't have shields, while others wore highly decorated armor, yet there were some whose armor didn't have any design at all.
The armor that they used varied from, silver-black and some sort of oil-like material that dissolved whatever its wearer touched.
My ship is still trying to figure out what the armors are made out of because despite it being a light material, it's able to take a lot of damage.
][][][][
I need to gather more information, but from what the others have told me, it's better to kill yourself than to ever be taken by them.
The Twi'Lek are a humanoid race that has just started to colonize its star system, the females of the species have well-formed bodies that anyone would consider attractive.
The males of the species are similar to the females, but I lack information on how many females and males are born in their species.
From what I have seen, there are five females for every male, the information on their ship computer doesn't show anything that can hint at selective killing of infants.
So I can only assume that more females are born than males.
][][
It's not that the species is peaceful, as the many weapons that its defense forces and ships have proven.
It's that they don't have anywhere near enough weaponry and power to do any significant damage even the smallest of worms, meaning that the species hasn't even started mining asteroids.
If it wasn't for the tentacles that grow out of their heads, instead of hair I would have believed them to be a sort of mutated human.
Think of the genetic modifications that people did when they found that they could change their bodies and reverse the process with little to no effort.
[][][
The tentacles that grow out of their heads vary, from just over an inch long to nearly touching the ground.
The number of tentacles varies just as much because I fail to find anything that shows that one color of the species grows more or less than the other.
][][]
The Twi'Lek species has a skin color that has one main color and several small markings of two or just one more color.
If I had to compare it to anything it would be a tigers stripe.
If I needed to describe how the species varies in skin color, I would say that someone grabbed a crayon box and gave each color to a member of the race.
[][][]
While they were the first species that I made contact with, they are also the ones that I try to stay away from the most.
The reason is that they have grown increasingly attached to me and my armor.
Yet this isn't a surprise considering everything that we have run into, and unfortunately, while they are overly friendly towards me, I barely know anything about them.
[][][
The spacesuits of the species are strangely formfitting, as even the males of the species have spacesuits that fit them perfectly.
The spacesuits, only offer the barest of protection, such as radiation guards that keep the radiation from space away from its user.
It offers no recycling of air, so once it's gone the user will die.
][][]
Sexual compatibility.
Ever since I have been letting refugees enter my ship, the species has somehow become the bedmates of nearly everyone else.
I have no idea how this happened, but somehow it happened as even the men are highly desired by the other alien races.
[][][]
I need more information, but I'm hesitant to approach the species because I am well aware that everything that has happened has severely affected this group.
And yet I have to, as if I am to get them to where they belong and so that I can go home, I need to interact with them more and that means teaching them how to use some of the technology on my ship.
The worm is something that lives in space rocks and feeds on the minerals inside said rocks.
I wish that I could end my explanation there.
The worms vary in size, shape, color, and even form. Hell the only reason that we call them worms at all, is because the first ones that Humanity ran into, were nothing more than oversized worms.
All worms can adapt to any environment and can take some punishment, that is the only practical weapon that a person can use against them.
Are the kinds that can tear through armor.
The worms are a parasite species, that can feed on anything, and should never be touched without protection.
The worm's shapes vary from simple worms, that drag themselves through the dirt, to humanoids, that can speak, write, and pass as normal people if they didn't have their mutations.
][][
Category A
The first and more basic version of the worm, are the ones a person can find living inside and on spacerocks, they are by far the most approachable of the bunch.
A person can stand next to one and not get eaten or infected if the worm has enough food.
][][
Category B
It's amazing just how much the worms change when they are placed in a different environment.
These worms are the ones that managed to get on starships, either because they were on the rocks being taken to the forges, or because they somehow managed to land on the outside of the ships.
Either way, the worms multiply quickly and devour everything in sight.
It doesn't matter what they run into, as nothing is allowed to remain, not even each other.
Highly aggressive, to the point that after the ship that they are on is destroyed, they will begin to devour each other, until only one is left.
It will somehow fly towards the nearest space-rock, or moon and slowly turn into a category A.
][][
Category C
These worms have infected a living life form.
If a person or animal eats a piece of the worm's flesh, the creature's highly adaptive nature will turn the person or animal into something that blends both species.
This version of the worm is highly aggressive but for a completely different reason.
The host body produces its own energy, and the worm's presence somehow raises the natural energies of the host body too far above what it should be capable of.
The person or animal should have died, just by moving, but they don't.
While they still need to eat and drink, it's very limited.
If a person needs to eat three times a day and drink water four times a day, the amount of times that they will need to do this is reduced to once every month.
The reason that this version of the worm is o dangerous, is its constant need to breed.
Somehow adapting to its new body, removed the worms avilet to self-reproduce, so it now relies on its host to impregnate or be impregnated, so that it can increase its numbers.
The infected person or animal will mate with anything regardless of the species and could easily destroy a planet if it's not dealt with quickly.
[][][]
Category D
I heard stories, hell even I theorized about the possibility, but I never thought that I would see it.
This is the worst-case scenario.
Somehow a worm, not an infected person or animal, managed to land on a planet.
I have never seen so many worms in my entire life, I wasn't crazy enough to try and get a sample.
Luckily my ship had a protocol for this, which makes me wonder if this happened before, or if one of the higher-ups realized that this could happen.
I fired the missile and killed an already dying planet, I can only hope that none of these things survived, because, with that amount of food, the size of the last worm would be enormous.
