Welcome to my latest quest, one which I have a feeling will actually succeed this time...
The Beginning/Prologue to the prologue
Welcome to my latest quest, one which I have a feeling will actually succeed this time. Combining all my favorite elements in any type of media ever (Endless possibilities, morally good characters, important choices, etc.) took me a while, but I think I've finally created something to be proud of.

A Brief Dialogue Between Two Stoners:

Stoner A: Hey, I just got to thinking, what if-
Stoner B: Dude you've been talking for the last 10 minutes-
A: What if there were like, multiple universes?
B: That... What do you mean?
A: Like different universes where there are entirely different laws of physics, stuff like that. I think there's this thing called string theo-
B: Oh yeah man! I've heard of that. Isn't that the one where, like, the universe splits into an infinite amount of different universes for each moment of time that passes?
A: Yeah, that's the one.
B: Yeah that's cool.
A: Wait a second, if there are multiple universes that are each as real as the next one isn't that bad? Like, really bad?
B: I think it's kind of cool, like there's a universe where people can fly and shit...
A; But if there's a universe where people fly, there's also a universe where nuclear war happened. And, Oh. Oh no... That's fucked up....
B: Dude, what are you talking about?
A: If string theory is true, then free will doesn't exist.
B: Now you're not making any sense.
A: No, I'll explain it to ya. See, let's say there's one universe where I pull a gun out and shoot you. Obviously not this one, since I've made a choice not to do that. But if string theory is true, that universe is as real as this one. So no matter what I do here, there's another me doing every conceivable thing otherwise.
B: Hm, I'm starting to see your point.
A: And if every conceivable possibility is covered, then that means there are universes where every pain that can ontologically happen to a person can and does happen. All. The. Time.
B: What the fuck does ontologically mean?
A: It means... Actually, I'm not sure what it means. I think there was some priest or some other middle ages dude who used it to prove that since God is like, allpowerful, and that since an allpowerful being can do anything, they can, like will themselves into existence and they should be able to exist in reality, and... What was I talking about again?
B: I dunno, but, I just had a thought about the infinite worlds thing.
A: What is that, dude?
B: If infinite universes exist, then there exists a universe where there are guys who are powerful enough to go to other universes and rewrite their laws, and restore free will and all sorts of cool shit.
A: Cool! But what if they're bad?
B: Well there will be good guys too, right?
A: Agh, this shit is making my head hurt. Wanna nother hit?
B: Sure

What Kind of hero do you want to be?

[] The Warrior: The threats against virtue are infinite in number. You vow to fight against them all.
[] The Redeemer: Evil beings are infinite in number. You vow to find the goodness within them all
[] The Lawgiver: The problems of an imperfect world are infinite in number. You vow to solve them all
[] The Mediator: The conflicts between good beings are infinite in number. You vow to be fair to them all
[] The Prosecutor: Sins are infinite in number. You vow to punish them all
[] The Leader: Righteous causes are infinite in number. You vow to support them all.

Note: Since I have yet to run a quest that exceeds 20 pages, I want to make sure that this quest survives. As a result, expect mechanics to be fine-tuned throughout the quest.

Special Game Concepts
Multiple Worlds: As you progress through your daily life, you'll have the option of unlocking a new world every week. (It does take a personal action though) These worlds are chosen by yours truly, and as such, you'll have no way of knowing what the new world is like until you've entered it. You are free to go between worlds at your leisure, and you can choose certain people to give this power to as well, although they can only transfer worlds once a week at most. Time moves at the same rate between worlds, even when it probably shouldn't, logically speaking. Also, power levels and hugely advantageous powers don't transfer. Even Goku could get his ass kicked in your world if he's not careful enough

Goals: These are long-term ambitions you give our hero. These help bring focus and clarity to the game. They can be write-ins, but I have final say over whether the goal is legitimate or not. They cannot be something you can accomplish in a single turn (1 week)

Adjustment and Management: Management replaces Stewardship and Adjustment replaces Piety, and represents the character's mental stability and acceptance of the pain and suffering that inevitably accompanies sentient life in all worlds.

Time and money Management: You don't have to pick 1 item from each category upon the turn's beginning. Instead, you pick as much as you want from each category as long as the sum of your choices' time stats is lower than your free time. Also, be careful about running out of money.

Voting For Plans, not individual options: Self-explanatory.

Pregame Goal setting
You live in a world of decay. Of course everyone knows that. It's the modern world, and instead of living in a utopia, we've polluted the planet, handed control of it over to a few rich f*!ks, and generally made a mess of everything.

So that's the situation. Now what about you?

You are Kyle Brofson, and you were just about to slit your wrists in the bathtub and end this absurdity once and for all, when something snaps. Next thing you know you have control of a muscle that all sentient beings have but never use or know about, and you know exactly what it's for. What the most ambitious meta physicists say have spent their entire lives trying to contribute 1 piece to the puzzle of interdimensional travel, you can do on a whim.

For the first time in a long time hope wells up inside of you. You feel that this is the start of something great.

But first things first.

What is your goal?

[] Strike fear into the heart of the old order: Human society is similar to nature in that it can easily rot. However, it does so more slowly. And the rot is easier to cut off and eliminate. Your first goal should be to kill or otherwise ruin 5 influential and powerful men and/or women.

[] Establish Yourself: Or maybe you should establish for yourself a solid base to gather resources from before you begin your ultimate plan of making the world a better place. You need to gain a monthly income of $100,000.

[] Save the Earth: Your ultimate goal is to bring justice wherever you find it needs it. But in order for justice to exist, there must be sentient beings with free will. And in order to do that, you need to ensure there is a place for sentient beings to live. Ensure that the world's average temperature goes down at least 1 degree Fahrenheit before society collapses.

[] Save all the Earths: Your new power means unlimited possibilites are displayed before you. It's time to start exploring them. Unlock 5 different worlds.

Update 1: 6/16-6/23
Free time: 100 Hours.

Cash on hand: $2000

Martial:

[] Take Martial Arts Classes: Cost: $50/month. Chance of failure: None. Time: 20 Hours. By taking a martial Arts class, you'll be able to refine your admittedly rough (but still effective, if the street fights you get into and walk out of on what seems like a monthly basis are any indication) fighting skills.

[] Buy A Gun: Cost: $500. Chance of failure: 30%. Time: 2 Hours. Buying a gun could save your life should you run into a person or beast on your travels who intends to kill you on sight. Of course, any person who doesn't know you well enough might think you're planning to become one of the many mass shooters that have infested the world...

[] Buy a Reliable Survival Knife: Cost: $250. Chance of failure: 10%. Time: 1 Hour. Sometimes guns run out of ammo, and you'll never know when you'll need a killing tool on your travels. No one wants to give anyone a knife he'll stab them with though.

Diplomacy:

[] Make a friend: Cost: Free. Chance of failure: 75%. Time: 3 Hours Although it's not likely you'll make one, it's still a good opportunity to practice communication with people who neither know you well or are paid to be polite to you.

[] Take Public Speaking Classes: Cost $50/Month. Chance of failure: 35%. Time: 20 Hours. If you aren't a perfect little charmer right now, then you might be able to learn to be one. It'll be difficult though, and you might not get anything out of the class.

[] Reconnect with Family and Old Friends: Cost: Free. Chance of failure: 20%. Time: 2 Hours. You have some college buddies you miss, and parents you wouldn't be too unhappy catching up on. Though they might not feel the same way.

Management:

[] Get a Job: Cost: Free. Chance of failure: 35%. Time: 7 Hours. Right now, you don't have a steady reliable source of income. You'll have to change that. Of course, you'll also have to convince people you're worth hiring.

[] Buy Survival supplies: Cost: $500. Chance of failure: None. Time: 6 Hours. You may very well have to spend a lot of time in the wilderness during your travels.

[] Take Wilderness survival classes: Cost: $50/month: Chance of failure: 10%. Time: 20 Hours. All the survival supplies in the world won't help you if you don't know how and why to use them.

Intrigue:

[] Pickpocket: Cost: Free: Chance of failure: 40%. Time 5 hours. While stealing is usually wrong (even if the victim can afford the loss), you need money in order to carry out your larger goals. Watch out for cops though.

[] Study Masters of Intrigue: Cost: Free: Chance of failure: 35% Time: 10 Hours: Despite your skills in the darker side of life, you wouldn't yet call yourself a shadow per se. By studying the tips, techniques, and lives of the great con men, thieves, and conspirators of history, you'll be able to further your abilities. Of course, you're not the best student, and you may have trouble getting insight from your studies.

[] Learn l33t Hacking Skillz: Cost: Free: Chance of failure: 35%. Time: 20 Hours: You're not exactly a computer master, and although you know what a BIOS is and why you need one, you're still far from becoming the Robin Hood of the internet. Taking some time to study not only hacking, but computer basics online could be valuable.

Learning:

[] Study Anthropology: Cost: Free: Chance of failure: 20%. Time: 5 Hours: From what you've heard about the subject, anthropology is the study of Human beings. While you have a feeling you're going to meet more things you can hold a conversation with than just Humans, its basic principles should be useful.

[] Study Language Principles: Cost: Free: Chance of failure: 20% Time: 7 Hours: Although you know that your power to travel to other worlds acts as a translator most of the time, for some reason, it doesn't always work. You have no idea what sort of languages you'll encounter on your journey, so a knowledge of what all languages share in common might help.

[] Study Learning techniques: Cost: Free: Chance of failure: 20%. Time: 4 Hours: You've never been the best student in the world. You weren't bad, but you weren't good. You knew even from an early age that what they were teaching you in school was mostly designed to create good little peons, and maybe that's why you never picked up on the better aspects of scholarship. Regardless, Learning techniques should help you pick up on knowledge faster.

Special:

[] Unlock and Visit a world: Cost: None: Chance of Failure: None. Time: Instantaneous

[] Go to therapy: Cost: $50/ Month: Chance of Failure: None Time: 3 Hours
