Two things:

1. I like that there are more English translations of various works from outside the United States and the Anglosphere in general.

2. I like that many non-Western or non-Anglo TV shows are translated into English.

Basically, I'm just glad that my more worldly tastes can be satisfied.

If I had to put a third thing, it would be the fact that writing is more popular for everyone and that everyone has a platform for their stories, more or less.

Not sure if it's okay to do this, but I'm hoping that this thread will catch on over time.

I do like how there's more variety nowadays with fiction. There does seem to be something for everyone if you can just look beyond the surface level. I agree that there's also enclaves of over-saturation sometimes depending on where you look. But there's also a lot more variety, I think. I feel more at ease with the fiction and what we have now than we did 10 years ago. Are there problems? Of course. But it's not that bad.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Thread Tax: The sheer variety of TTRPGS and what they can do or be has exploded in the past 10-15 years or so. Even If I mostly play traditional RPGs I still approve of these completely different takes, it's more for everyone. It also intersects with the proliferation of forums, system reference documents and fan wikis since the 2000s. Thus people can find homebrew, suggestions and rules easier than ever on forums or on wikis/srds. Thus the community variety, size and barriers to entry have all dropped.

I reckon the point of this one is to gush over why you like things. As opposed to the other one, where the point is to dunk on things you dislike about things... I think.

The problem is, is that I can talk about things that I like, but they would still be fairly unpopular opinions. Like, I can talk about how my favorite season of Stranger Things is the third one, or how I like the designs of Ghost in the Shell:2045 and Arise. But, both of those are unpopular, yet positive, opinions. Especially that last one. Which would make this thread redundant.
