How long the job will last? After all, we're only a few years or weeks old and we've done alot of metamorphosizing. So our concept of time is probably kind of wonky compared to other people. If the job lasts a few months or years, we should be able to complete it and see where we want to go from there. If the job lasts for "eternity" or "centuries" then... there's simply no way we could comprehend that span of time or promise to work for it in good faith. That's just no way to start a working relationship.

Your unsure of how long West Kai wishes to retain your services but remember that if Cell accepts, which looks to be happening based on the votes, he's only agreeing so he can be hidden from Goku and co. Once he's gotten strong enough that he feels that is no longer required he's perfectly willing to break from West Kai.

Is there a Gohan in Cell's body out there, considering they wished back everyone who was killed by Cell?

Nope. Shenron is more than a little confused by Cell in Gohan. He considers Gohan to be alive since your using his body but at the same time regards Cell as a separate entity from Gohan hence you not being teleported back to Earth via wish.

I have always associated Ascended Super Saiyan as SS2. Both Trunks and Vegeta doing overclocked levels of regular S2. Heck there is even the theory that SS3 technically could be considered overclocking of SS2 plateau due to the fact it required being dead for Goku to develop and could only last so long even then. A good part of this headcanon is due to how silly putting numbers next to the transformation seems.

Well your entitled to your headcanon but thats not the system I'm using for this.

As for GT I really like SS4 transformation since the reason for the power up made sense. It required control of Oozaru transformation along with mastery of Super Saiyan which are rare seperate and together would be sort of impossible especially if there was a feed back loop on mental disruption from the too transformation.

I am quite fond of SS4 as a concept/novel approach to obtaining a new power level.

@toxinvictory Can we ask West Kai as to the duration of our agreement? While we might be willing to help him out right now, we don't exactly want to work for him for forever.

The exact time-frame West Kai is hoping for it unclear though you get the impression he prefer a long term arrangement. As I noted above you can just work for him until you no longer care about being hidden from Goku and North/King Kai regardless of whether West Kai wants more from you.

If you go with "accept the offer" option you aren't going to break from him the moment your out of system. But down the road ......

Also, you never really answered the Intellect question. "As smart as he was in Canon" doesn't mean much, since we never see him use his smarts. He's a Tactical Genius, sure, but for all we know from what is displayed in Canon, he could barely know basic arithmetic.

It's a rather hard question to answer but sure I'll make an attempt. In my opinion Cell qualifies as a Dragon Ball style genius in regards to fighting and KI techniques. He has reasonable knowledge of a wide range of topics from maths-languages to history and is at-least familiar with DBZ Earth's technology.

Chapter 3: The Choice and The Grave Marker
[x] Agree to work for West Kai.

The chance to strike at Goku, to kill him with his own son's hands and perhaps through your battle unlock the full scope of Gohan's power is undeniably tempting. But with some distaste you push down your desire to prove yourself in battle, survival comes first no matter how much it burns.

You retreated from Piccolo, Trunks and yes Krillin when they confronted you that first time a fleeting victory didn't save them in long run. With the addition of absorption gained strength you later broke them one by one. This will be the same. You will have your reckoning with Goku and those fools on Earth but only once you have mastered this body and grown in strength so the outcome can not be in doubt.

Focusing your attention on the foreign presence in your mind you give West Kai your answer.

"Yes, I will accept your aid and in exchange place my talents at your disposal." You make no mention of how long you intend to work for this Kai.

"Great, and there. You are now shielded from being sensed by Goku or Northy. I'll divert a nearby ship to pick you up and we can get started on how your paying me back for this."

You carefully keep any thoughts of what will happen when you no longer need the West Kai's aid out of your mind. If the Kai has any sense it will be wary of you but no need to stir up trouble at this stage.

"Okay found one, they'll be here to pick you up in a day or so."

West Kai has convinced a space ship in the region to make a stop at the world you are marooned on and pick you up. Whose ship is it?

[] A troop ship of the Planet Trade Organisation (Frieza Force) . Your presence will be noticed by the West Galaxy' PTO Leadership.

[] A pleasure ship belonging to the Tuffle Confederacy (Tuffle). Your presence will be conveyed back to the Confederacy.

[] A scout craft employed by the warlike Zeal race (Babarian). The Zeal will learn of your presence in the West Galaxy.

You have a day until you can leave this broken world behind. A lesser being would be idle in this time, but not you. This world witnessed the end of your old body and the spirit of Gohan. It's face is scared, its frozen mantle melted yet this is simply not enough. The thought of destroying the world outright has a certain appeal but it lacks a certain something.

Even if this grave-site is never found, even if the true significance of what took place above this world is never understood by more than a few something special is called for.

A plan forms, its more than a little crazy but you can do it and in the end that's the only thing that truly matters. You use the Multi-form technique to create a duplicate (always a curious sensation and their is always the concern that the copy produced will act out in some way) If you had longer you would a different method but you want this done in time for the ships arrival.

The Copy flies into the upper atmosphere as high as it can go and still fill its lungs. It watches as you begin to carve your mark onto this world. Powering up to Super Saiyan you tear across the landscape, using a constant stream of KI Blast to crater everything directly ahead of you. You add a slight angle to your flight for the intended effect.

After a hour or two of land-scaring passage the copy swoops down and you switch places. You watch as the the copy repositions and begins to blast the next shape into the surface. Your aren't idle flying after the copy you send the odd blast when the copy is getting off task. When the copy exhaust its reserve of KI and vanishes you make another an continue your work. From the upper atmosphere the work is taking shape.

One letter then a word and a last a sentence. It's unlikely that anyone will understand the significance of what you've wrought, English is beyond foreign here and you would need to be orbit to see it but still its yours. Font the scale of cities you message is burned into this world.

CELL WAS HERE!

A grave should have a inscription after all.

After its done your exhausted in a way that is utterly foreign, your body soaked with sweat, limps trembling and breathing hard. Your KI is a fraction of what it was. Multi-form is a potent technique if applied right but damn does it burn through your reserves and their is always the worry that the copy will for that short period of life go off script.

Well pushing yourself is how you train after all. As frustrating as this weakness is, and it truly aggravates, in time with effort and suffering this body will grow stronger and move closer to perfection.

The ship enters your perception of KI not long after your work is done eventually settles into a hovering orbit above the world, just far enough in to the atmosphere that you can reach it through flight without having to brave the problem of hard vacuum.

You ascend and land inside an opened hanger naked, dripping with blood and sweat but free. You have escaped the end Gohan brought you and now his body, his power his fate are yours. The ships occupants give you a wide berth, judging by the fear you can read in their movements they caught atleast some of your work carving into the Planet below.

One of the braver crew leads you to a room with a bed and wall mounted computer. Your accommodation for the trip. You collapse on the bed and sink into sleep for the first time in your existence.

While Cell in Gohan sleeps elsewhere in the Universe powers move and stories unfold who tale would you like to glimpse? (Pick One)

[] The Saiyan's of South Galaxy.

[] The Galactic Patrol of East Galaxy.

[] The Z-Fighters of North Galaxy.

Authors Note: So fair warning I'm including characters from Dragon Ball Super, Xenoverse, etc into this. For the sake of this project there is only a single Universe (comprised of Four Galaxies, a number of afterlives and extra realms) but characters from across DB adaptions exist in this version of the DBZ Universe. I've gone this route to flesh out the universe Cell will be exploring.

To be clear if Cell hadn't ended up in Gohan's body the plot of DBZ could have played out as it did in canon so you don't have to worry about that. The movies are more of mixed bag, some happened or have the potential to happen as they did in canon and some have been redone. Many of the imported characters have been altered to a a degree though I have tried to keep everyone in character.

The Tuffle still live in this universe, eh? Interesting. Maybe they'll have some useful tech.

[X] The Saiyans of South Galaxy.

While I'm not going into detail about their history now I will say that the Tuffles in North Galaxy (the primary setting of Dragon Ball Z) were killed by the Saiyan's. What relationship the West Galaxy Tuffle Confederacy has with them is a topic that will be covered in a later response.

I want to shape these barbarians into a galactic super power that could contend with the PTO

Not going to lie, if there are more Saiyans out there I totally went G-Cell to take them over and become king. I don' think know why, but it sounds neat to me.

Also Tuffles because maximum hilarity. Plus their tech stuff is cool.

Ooh, new stuff. :D Interesting concept here; I like the potential of this one.
pffffhahaha yes. :lol

We (the players) know about the Tuffles and the PTO in at least broad terms, but far less about the Zeal. I'd like to learn more about them. Somebody will end up learning of us. May as well learn of somebody else.

[X] The Z-Fighters of North Galaxy.

On the other hand, for this one I'd like to find out what our most obvious potential opponents are about. Do we have an enraged Goku popping in momentarily?

It's a hell of an ego boost when a writer of your caliber thinks my humble fic has potential.

pffffhahaha yes. :lol

Glad you liked that. Yeah Cell is going to be doing that sort of thing regularly in this. Call it combination of him subtly going around the bend from the whole foreign body experience and me liking Team Four Star's take on our Frankenstein genetic horror.

Aw, thanks! :D

They do a good job on characterization; cribbing from them is an excellent plan.

Couldn't agree more. I'm actually rather sad no one voted to try and get back to Earth/confront the Z-Fighters right off the bat. Cell would have been in top snark form once he revealed himself and probably kicked Vegeta in the dick while taunting him over the fact that someone who is only half Goku is still superior to him.

Then again 17 & 18 have been revived at this point and given how DBZA Cell acts towards the Cyborgs, especially 18, its probably a good thing he didn't get back to Earth. The image of Gohan's body acting even vaguely like that is a whole new level of disturbing.

Okay calling it as voting has tampered off. Looks like West Kai diverted a Tuffle Confederacy Ship and we are seeing the Saiyans of South Galaxy's next update.

I hope reader enjoy the rewrite of Broly and his story that I've come up with for this Quest.
