The Old World: Dark Age of the Empire

Since we're likely to have to deal with vampires/necromancers in the future in the open field, would it be possible for us to make another intelligence organization like the shadow company that's purely composed of snipers & trackers? Like just small 2-3 man squads with long riflemen and a spotter/extra sniper trained to be adept at hiding in open sight via camouflage primarily forests and open fields? This could be good not just for vampire wars but for our offensive intelligence capabilities in general since I've noticed that we don't have any offensive intelligence assets outside of Nuln that is directly under our personal command besides the bed & boards. (The witch hunters don't count since they're the own organization that we just sponsor/collaborate with). That way we have the capability to assassinate targets of interest covertly without linking it back to us without having to collaborate with the witchunters. Alternatively, we can just augment the shadow company with trackers & snipers to work together without having to make an entirely new organization. Also, can we make mirror shields like the ones shown in the video below, that'd make our snipers terrifying in my opinion:
This Ghillie Made from MIRRORS is SHOCKINGLY GOOD

The Shadow Company is for use within the City of Nuln, or some of the surrounding slums and shanty towns. A new Company as part of the Iron Companies made up of snipers would be a possibility although the founding of new Companies is something I'm holding for critical successes since they require a sudden surge in appropriate manpower and also to try and preserve the identities of the individual Companies since they're each supposed to have their own internal cultures and I'd like to keep them distinct so limiting how often a new Company can be founded is how I do that.

Offensive organisations under the Confidante can be founded using the appropriate action in Intrigue, these organisations are however targetted since they need to be embedded into a particular polity with a network of support.

Wissenland doesn't really have access to assassins, outside of soldiers and the Iron Tower. So you can't select a target and have them killed without building up a network in their region first. Except if you engage with the Iron Tower and arrange a killing, but in that case you'll need to persuade them that it fits their mandate.

With regards to mirror shields, large mirrors are difficult to make especially with significant clarity. They're also quite fragile for bringing on long marches and into battles. No-one at the Imperial Gunnery School currently is looking into anything of that sort and the expertise would probably need to be brought in from Tilea where mirror-making is a prestigious trade or from the College of Engineering where glassworking is a significant part of the College's time.

And that would bring us on the frontline against Vlad.

The worst place to be for the next half century.

I'd really rather try to outmaneuver this, rather than oppose him directly.

The plan here is to agressivly agree with Vlad, but then nail him on actually sticking to the proclaimed goals.

I don't know if it will work, but I prefer it taking on the most powerful man in the Empire head on.

All three look pretty good and I guess we can look into the serial killer next turn but we dont want to put that off, more so if it is a vampire.

This'll just delay the invasion once the investigation is done but it's still better than outright fighting the vampires. Also, when we make our demand to Stirland can we subtly frame it as saying we'll delay or even stop the Salyvian invasion if we're the ones doing an investigation on them for chaos activities rather then have Salyvia who's just planning on taking over?

The ranaldites are so far just rabble-rousers while giving -5 in the City so Why negotiate with them and risk our Goddess' wrath? Do they have blackmail material against us? Did they manage to break the vault of our Bank? Are they in a position of strength? Roleplaying as the highest ranked noble and rule-enforcer in our province, it does not make sense to me to talk to representatives of a god of thieves.

Edit: if anything, we should be arresting them for libel and conspiracy against the state

I don't see any reason to make any deals with them because we are an elector count and besides this is not modern era on earth but an medieval fantasy world that's has monster and hero's and armies that fight with magic. Swords and shields and gunpowders also we are a feudal state and and no place for modern ideals

Ranaldians successfully started multiple riots, spread propaganda across the entire city of Nuln, caused industrial sabotage and have grounds to agitate against the Grand Baron on a daily basis with the misery that ensues in industrial labor. Ignoring them is a fool's errand when any time something goes wrong is grist to the mill of their propaganda.
- A riot in the Industrielplatz has been attributed to Ranaldian firebrands amongst the workers. Patriarch Richthofen's private security report that the Foundry remains secure after a few saboteurs were shot, other parts of the Industrielplatz however must buy new machines and equipment after damage from the riot.
The Cult of Ranald has proven particularly difficult to uproot. The Cult is embedded into the general population in spread throughout the City of Nuln, their propaganda has encouraged the lower classes to be quite tight-lipped when it comes to their suspicions and recent stories of Ranaldians targeting the rich at your wedding seem to have encouraged the poorer masses.

The Confidante of the Seat has been managing a dedicated effort to infiltrate the Cult and identify the cells that make up the wider Cult of Ranald in Nuln. Alas, the Cult seems to have a method of identifying its own. Neither the Iron Tower nor the Children seem capable of convincing any Ranaldians to invite them in.

It's quite literally easier to just give them some of the Reforms they want as opposed to trying to destroy them. So good freaking luck trying to arrest them. Unless you want to run into the same wall that the RL Bismark ran into when trying to destroy the Socialist movement in Germany, which sounds good too.
