You lightly dip the tip of your pen into an inkwell and prepare to write.

You close your eyes and let the memories unfold.

The tale you are about to write isn't yours, but you will be the one to give it a form.

Lies or truths, deception or honesty, they are of no importance.

All that matters now is the words you will make eternal.

There was a watcher, you wrote, that knew neither life nor death.

The watcher was nothing more than a powerless observer, sent from a distant land to observe the events that transpired upon the land of Ninannah centuries ago.

And there was a ferocious monster that knew not satiation.

The monster came into this world formless, but the more it ate, the stronger and smarter it became. It had first consumed a simple mice. The mice was eaten by a wolf, and that wolf was eaten by a bear, and from there, the monster became as strong and smart as that bear.

It fought and it killing, consuming more flesh in the process, becoming something more than a singular existence. Yet, at the same time, it was still no different in mind than a common animal. It followed its instincts and indulges its desires.

Nonetheless, that soon changed, when the monster met a creature it hadn't seen before. The creature walked on two legs and used weird tools the monster couldn't understand. In the first place, it had no idea what a "tool" was. In a way, it felt curious about this new creature.

The monster followed it instincts and consumed the creature to become stronger. However, the monster found something new within itself, or rather, it found its own "self" as an individual. The moment it became one with the creature, the monster gained something completely new.

It became a human and gained a human heart, and the witness determined that it needed to assume the same form to complete its task.

There was a boy, and his name was Timur, son of Bulut, and like his father (and his father before him), he was a story-teller. His duty was to know the songs of the past glory and sing them to his tribe. It was expected of him, but at the same time, Timur desired something more.

He wished for a song that belonged to him and him only, a song that praised not the man, but the nature and its beauty. For this reason, the boy often found himself alone in the wilds, lost in his thoughts, absorbing every sound with his entire body.

This was perhaps the only time the boy ever felt happy.

There was a girl, and her name was Amira. She didn't know the names of her parents or even their faces. The only person she could call "family" was an old hermit that lived in his hut, unaware of the world outside.

The hermit made sure to teach Amira many things. He taught her all the words he knew, but more importantly, he taught her how to hunt rabbits with his bow and how to catch fish with his spear.

But the hermit was old, and one morning, he didn't wake up, so Amira followed his instructions and buried his body deep within the ground.

And so, Amira was alone for the first time in sixteen years.

There was a girl, and her name was Aliyah, daughter of Masrur. Her father was a very busy and very important man, or so she believed. His job was to tell other people in their tribe what to do.

To the girl herself, what adults did mattered very little. All she cared about were games and dolls. But sometimes, Aliyah really hated her father's job because it made other kids scared of playing with her, and when that happened, the girl could only grit her teeth in frustration and run away.

Aliyah hated people to see her crying, after all.
