The Mongolian Horde(s) V.S Vienna (1683)

Instead of the Battle of Vienna having to do with their Islamic enemies, the Ottomans, they have to fight off the Mongolian Hordes, the entire Horde, prodded by plot induced insanity to leave their territories behind just to invade Austria and Poland, and hope that they can actually win.

The entire Horde is at the Siege of Vienna, then Vienna has to somehow survive until Polish relief forces can save them. This is Mongolia around 1294 or 1309. The Polish/Austrian alliance has better fire arms, but there are only 141 operational canons at Vienna. Can they manage to defeat the Mongolian Horde(s)?

Also, which is a more fitting word, Khanate? Or Horde? What are the casualties like? How many are there?

Considering how the Mongols made heavy use of levy/allied/suborned troops, were not idiots and they knew about gunpowder if not cannons, the numbers you are looking at may reach the million (s) territory?



Austria, Vienna and any reinforcements arriving get so mauled it is not even funny.

Depends, honestly. They're not gonna be able to reduce the walls of Vienna very quickly, and their ability to bring their numbers to bear is limited by logistics of the area. My guess is that, barring more aid, Vienna falls. You're not going to be able to break the Mongols lines of circumvention, and the Poles won't be able to do anything because of the amount of work it'll take to batter their way through the Mongol siege camps that are in other logistics areas.

The Mongols have what's effectively infinite manpower for this scenario- the only issue is how dispersed it needs to be. At best, the Holy Leauge can evacuate Vienna, and put it to the torch as a reasonable win condition. Resupply is effectively impossible, and defeating the enemy is impractical.
