Konohagakure

The Village Hidden in the Leaves

The Pride of the Fire Nation

That Damn Village
It is known by many names, but to the warriors nurtured by the vibrant forests it is home.

Forged just over one hundred years ago by the brutal fires of the Warring Clans Era, Konoha was the first Hidden Village. Initially an idea sparked by the friendship between Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha, the two would make their dreams reality when they brought their two clans and vassals together to form an alliance. In year forty-seven of the Faitama Dynasty before Daimyo Senzai Faitama Sasuke Sarutobi, Hashirama Senju, Yorushi Kurama, and Madara Uchiha signed what would become known as the Konoha Compact. Sealed in blood and chakra, the Compact bound these shinobi to each other and to the service of the Faitama Dynasty.

The Compact would find itself tested just a year later in the form of other haphazard alliances. The Akimichi, Nara, and Yamanaka clans found their services in short demand when faced with the power of Konoha and so plotted to destabilize the Compact. Through torture and espionage, Madara Uchiha learned of this and began making plans to crush the shoddy alliance. Hashirama, however, had a different plan. The Senju Clan Head called for a Summit with the leaders of these clans and made an unprecedented offer. One month later, the Nara, Akimichi, and Yamanaka clans were welcomed into Konoha and their blood sealed to the Compact.

The other Nations watched in horror as the Fire Nation gained the loyalty of numerous powerful clans. Recognizing it was a new age and they would be eclipsed if they did not act, the Daimyo and clans of other nations quickly founded their own Hidden Villages to counteract the growing hegemony of the Fire Nation.

Realizing that the power buildup would lead to devastation as opposed to harmony, Hashirama decided that a policy of mutually assured destruction would hold the peace. Despite protests from his younger brother Tobirama and Madara (one of the few times the two shared similar policies), Hashirama proceeded with his plan and gave the other villages the Bijuu, keeping only the Kyuubi and Nibi for Konoha. His wife, Mito Uzumaki, became the Jinchuuriki of the Kyuubi and the Nibi was sealed inside a young Sarutobi by the name of Kamen.

It was at this point that the differences between Madara and Hashirama grew too great. Madara and Hashirama fought a furious battle, but the two went their separate ways after Hashirama defeated the Uchiha Clan Head. The ideal of peaceful solutions would dominate Konoha foreign policy for the next two years, but alas Hashirama's Naïveté proved to to be its downfall.

With the destruction of the Whirlpool village by the Village Hidden in the Stone, the First Great Shinobi World War began. There have been few like it in history. Destruction reigned upon the nations. Few regions escaped untouched from the horrors of mass genjutsu and the very continent itself was warped by the numerous ninjutsu performed.

Atrocities were performed by both sides. The greatest of which occurred in the Lightning Territory. Kamen, a teenager burdened with the responsibility of being the Jinchuuriki's jailer, found himself alone behind enemy lines. Devastated by the loss of his team, Kamen went on a killing spree across the Lightning Village. Over one hundred thousand Lightning and Stone civilians were killed by the young man's rampage until he was brought down by the First Hokage himself.

The war waged for another two years before finally being brought to a close. So many had perished. Many concessions were made in order to maintain a balance of power among the villages. The Nibi was gifted to the Lightning Village as recompense for the war crimes inflicted upon the nation. Hatred still festered.

Shortly after the war, Hashirama fought Madara Uchiha at the Valley of the End. Madara was killed, but Hashirana sustained grievous injuries which lead to his death a few months later. Tobirama Senju became Hokage.

Tobirama was an apt administrator and master of many forbidden jutsu. Several clans which had remained neutral to this point, like the Hyuuga, Aburame, and Inuzuka aligned themselves to Konoha though we're not required to sign the Compact.

The Second Great Shinobi War started because of love. The daughter of the First Raikage fell for an Iwagakure Jounin. Though the two villages were friendly to each other...there was still a great deal of suspicion. Nonetheless, the first Raikage allowed to two to wed.

Shinobi loyalty is rare. During the wedding, Stone turned on Lightning and slaughtered their Kage and sent the body of his daughter in pieces to the Lightning Village. War was declared.

Though Konoha wished to stay out of the conflict, the Village was forced to join on the side of Lightning when Stone brought four Bijuu into the war which had broken numerous articles of the treaty that ended the first Shinobi War. No village was allowed to have more than two Jinchuuriki at a time, nor were Bijuu allowed to remain without a host.

This war was perhaps far bloodier than the first. The Bijuu rampaged and though the Second Hokage was powerful, he lacked his brother's ability to control them. Furthermore, though the new Raikage was powerful, he was young and untested. This, coupled with tensions from the previous war, pushed Konoha and Lightning back. Salvation came from an unlikely source for the two villages. Kirigakure, the Village Hidden in the Mist, joined the battle. Their Legendary Seven Swordsmen turned the tide against the untamed Bijuu and their forces.

Sunagakure was determined to remain out of the war, however the joining of Kirigakure greatly tipped the power scales. The Second Kazekage threatened to join the war on the side of the Alliance if Stone did not surrender. An armistice was reached, but not before the Second Hokage was killed.

Left to handle the aftermath, Sarutobi Hiruzen proved himself a deft politician as he secured numberous reparations for Konoha from both Lightning and Stone for their actions. This created even further resentment towards Konoha from the two, but they were too weakened to do much about it. Konoha and Kirigakure entered a formal alliance though an alliance among Shinobi an uneasy thing.

The world entered an era of peace as the memories of the war stifled any desire for greater conflict.

Unfortunately, the rise of the Ninja Villages led to the decline of the power that the Daimyo held. Though the Faitama Dynasty held power over Konoha with the Compact, the current Daimyo was old and without children and a new Dynasty would soon emerge. Two candidates arose to claim the title, Genji Faitama and Horatio Temark. Genji, the current Daimyo's cousin and only living relative, was the only one able to invoke the Compact. And yet for all this...Konoha was unable to prevent his assassination. Horatio Temark became Daimyo.

Accusations rose against Konoha as being behind the assassination, a clear violation of the Articles signed after the Second Shinobi War. Tensions ran high.

It only takes a spark. Several Fire Nation Nobles chose to rebel against the New Daimyo and were backed by the Lightning, Sand, and Stone Villages. Konoha would invoke war against these three and so began the Third Great Shinobi War. Legends arose. Myths such as the Sannin carved their name into history. The Seven Swordsmen cemented their place as the protagonists of many a tale. And the deadliest of all would become Hokage. Minato Namikaze obliterated opposing forces. Entire squadrons of Shinobi slaughtered in a flash. Not since Hashirama Senju was an opponent so unmatched.

The war ended quickly and Minato became Hokage.

The Shinobi system fully cemented under his rule and war seemed a distant thing. Konoha was poised to enter a golden age...until the Kyuubi attacked. Minato Namikaze gave his life for the village he loved and slew the beast.

With his death, a new Cold War began among the villages to accumulate power. The two greatest rivals being Konoha and Kumogakure. Incidents such as Konoha refusing to hand over a Hyuuga Assassin only exasperated these tensions.

And now a new generation of legends will face these tumultuous times. Their bloodlines impeccable, their teachers resolute, their loyalty to their village...who knows what paths they shall take! They are the Konoha Twelve...

Arc One: Graduation

Hiruzen Sarutobi
Hokage Tower
Early Morning
Friday 13th, October 109HVE*

Hiruzen Sarutobi stared at the Jounin before him with serious eyes. Each of them had been picked for this task with the utmost care. Times were changing. He had done terrible things. He would continue doing terrible things, but perhaps he could do this one good thing.

The man slowly stood, the creaks in bones nothing more than a show hiding the absurd power held within this old man's frame. His powerful eyes turned to the Jounin on the right.

Kurenai Yuhi. A newer Jounin, but especially powerful with genjutsu. He had always held a soft spot for the woman's parents. They were loyal and dedicated Shinobi. It warmed his heart to see her stand before him more powerful than they ever had been. She had been assigned an interesting team to say the least. He hoped she would be able to keep the Hyuuga Heir's mind from becoming too stressed by the burdens. She was also well suited to empathizing with a non clan Shinobi like the Haruno girl. The team was rounded out by an Aburame. A very... unassuming squad, but they tended to be the most dangerous in the long run.

The Jounin next to her was one of his riskier decisions. Decisions, who was he kidding. Danzo had outplayed him with this assignment. Torune Aburame. It was a testament to ROOT that Hiruzen knew nothing about the man save for his clan history and fondness for Shino. He would have to keep an eye on this team. The Inuzuka boy was already reported as distant and Neji Hyuuga was reported to be a prodigy but also a problem for the main branch. Pity the caged seal didn't enforce emotional loyalty. Thankfully Ino Yamanaka would be his insight into the team. Inoichi already knew to report any strangeness his daughter encountered to him.

His brown eyes turned to the next Jounin and the barest pang pinched his heart as it always did. So much responsibility at such an age. Not since Minato had he seen the Will of Fire burn so strong. Itachi's was a quieter flame than the Fourth's but no less hot. Soon...Konoha would have a new Hokage, but no Shinobi had ever become Hokage without first being a teacher. Itachi was well suited to his genin. The Kurama heiress would benefit from his genjutsu knowledge without being too over specialized. The Nara clan heir would soon find fear an adequate motivator...And It was vital that Itachi restore his relationship with the future head of the Uchiha. Otherwise that whole affair would have been pointless.

Finally he turned his gaze to Anko Mitarashi, his failure's student. She was unpredictable, mentally insane, more likely to disect a man than date him..and he was handing her Konoha's greatest weapon. He hoped that the medic and other Uzumaki would keep this team sane...but he needed them powerful, not sane. Anko was best for the job.

Hiruzen coughed.

"You have each received the dossiers on your team. Report to the Academy classroom fourteen at fourteen hundred hours to retrieve then. Dismissed."

They were gone in a blink. Hiruzen moved more ponderously as he exited his office. His steps reverberated as he walked out of the Hokage Tower and toward the streets. His ANBU guard would be running laps for hours tonight. Bird had sniffled. Unacceptable.

His walk lead him to the Academy and the fresh eyes of the new genin. He smiled at them as he walked onto the stage and podium. The Chuunin merely bowing and stepping aside. Hiruzen nodded at the girl and the turned his smiling face towards the new genin,

"I am here today, to order you to die," he paused as confused faces and murmurs broke out. The Uchiha clan heir looked bored. Unacceptable. Suddenly there was a Kunai slicing through the air and the entire back portion of the boy's hair was gone. Ugly style that. His eyes were wide as he looked at Hiruzen. The Hokage smiled and continued, "Do I have your attention? I'm here today to order you to die to yourselves so that you may live for something greater. Die so that you fight with abandon for your loved ones! The Will of Fire is found when we care more about our comrades than ourselves! In the years to come, remember these words. Remember where the Will of Fire is born. It is born in death, but it is only the Will of Fire that shall keep you alive."

His last words faded and he slowly shuffled off the stage. There was awkward applause from the genin, but the steely gaze he saw in the eyes of several parents warmed his heart. They would learn.

Iruka stared at the list with a sigh. Soon his students would be Shinobi. He hoped they made it. He rattled off, "Team One will be compromised of...

...Team Three will consist of Naruto Uzumaki, Karin Uzumaki, and Kabuto Yakushi under Jounin Anko Mitarashi...

...Team Five will consist of Hanabi Hyuuga, Sakura Haruno, and Shino Aburame under Jounin Kurenai Yuhi...

...Team Eight will be compromised of Kiba Inuzuka, Ino Yamanaka, and Neji Hyuuga under Jounin Torune Aburame...

...Team Nine will be Yakumo Kurama, Sasuke Uchiha, and Shikamaru Nara under Itachi Uchiha..

..You are all dismissed, but be back to the classroom at thirteen hundred hours to await your Jounin Sensei. It has been an honor teaching all of you."

With that said, Iruka sits and a small smile rests upon his face as he watched his former students.

Shikamaru Nara

Academy Building
Early Morning
Friday, October 13th 109HVE*

Shikamaru lowered his gaze back to his desk. Taking the time to nap, he went over the new information in the safety of his mind. The teams had been announced and with it his next course of action set. Shame Choji wasn't here to share it with him. He'd told his....pleasantly plump friend that he'd needed to study for the theory but instead he'd decided to spend his time stuffing his face and being held back till the next exam. New plans would have to be revised and redrawn. What a drag.

The assigned team could be troublesome too. The Kurama girl was a wildcard. Usually sitting quietly in the back, interacting with very few of the classmates in any meaningful way. He'd heard the clan was famous for their genjutsu but these things are hard to confirm in a classroom setting. Too much effort to attempt to find out after class as well.

The Uchiha's would make things interesting. His fellow Genin, Sasuke, was bound to put as much effort into his teams improvement as his own. So much for his plans for letting Choji do all the heavy lifting. His back-up plan of using the assigned Sensei as misdirection in order to have the Uchiha heir draw more attention away from his relaxation time was less likely to succeed in this setting. Shikamaru doubted the haircut would remove much of his drive to prove himself better than his peers. Forcing his involvement in others ambitions was such a drag.

He only knew about Itachi Uchiha by rumour, but according to the grapevine (no one thought about the sleeping child listening in on their conversations), he was an prodigy, an individual driven to excel in a way comparable to the ninja's of legend. His reputation would most likely affect perceptions of his students, increasing the expectations of their growth and potential to become powerful ninja in their own right. He'd have to be even more careful in balancing his desire to avoid extra work with the expectations from home, namely his mother. He shuddered internally to remember the last time she caught him sleeping during yard-work.

He needed time, time to prepare, time to plan for the inevitable rush of unwanted and unnecessary complications in his life. Perhaps if he faked sleep till the Sensei arrived, he could think of a new course of action. If nothing came to mind, the consequences would be....troublesome.

Now if he could just figure out how to remove himself from the paint bombs pressure plate, he might actually be able to think of something useful.

Dammit Naruto.

Anko stood outside the door to the classroom. The door was closed. It was a solid door. It was in her way. With a loud yell, the door burst off its hinges, flying across the room to land against the opposite wall. Anko strode in proudly, holding a flag bearing the legend "Anko Mitarashi, Awesome Sensei". Standing in front of the class, her Tan longcoat somehow flapping in the non-existent breeze.

"I'm Anko Mitarashi! Team Three's Sensei! You all here?"

She paused to look at the photos of the ninja IDs before yelling again, "Blondie! Your ID photo's stupid. Anyway, you're all here. So, follow me!"

With that proclamation she jumped out the window of Room 14, landing on top of the small armoury across the academies training ground.

They can jump a hundred and fifty feet, right?

Today was not a good day for Sasuke Uchiha. There was a gap missing in his hair, one of his teammates would surely drag the team down, and...

An exceptionally loud woman had just interrupted his thought process. His sharingan activated as the door had flown off its hinges, but had relaxed once the...suggestively clad woman had started talking.

The Uchuha dabbed a bit of blood from his nose as his mind wondered.

Itachi...

It had been two years since he had seen his brother. Kushina's birth in fact. Sasuke shook his head and tightened his fist.

He didn't know how to handle this. His brother should have been teaching him for years, but now was his Jounin Sensei...he just didn't understand.

Under normal circumstances he would have approached his team...but..he needed time to think. This changes things.

Early Morning, October 13th, 109 HVE

I smile broadly at Iruka-sensei's announcement, resisting mightily the urge to jump out of my seat in excitement by flipping a bow-tied bundle of hair over my shoulder. I school my face into a stoic Hyuga calm by flipping a kunai in my hand and dancing it between fingers. It was a time of excitement, but I couldn't make a fool out of myself.

Okay, think. You're excited, but Hiashi's daughter would be strategizing. Kurenai Yuhi. What do I know about her? Frankly, not much. She's not the celebrated Itachi Uchiha, but she's not the infamously crazy Anko Mitarashi. She'll do - Hiashi-sama will teach me most of what I need to do anyway, this team is just a vessel to get to fighting Neji. Still... Itachi would've probably been the bigger help. Nevertheless, Kurenai was likely no slouch either.

I turn my pearl white eyes to my first team-mate, the vaguely creepy but even-so polite and proper Shino Aburame. Bugs, they make my skin crawl. And they're inside him - my Byakugan can attest to that. But I'm still having a hard time with rotation, so i'll need someone to help protect against long range attacks and help me close distance. He can do that. At least he's not Kiba. He'd be useless to me.

Shino examined, I turn my gaze to the pink haired kunoichi, one of the few in this little group of twelve who wasn't a clan head. She was smart, but she'd never presented any sort of specialty. Nevertheless, she worked hard, she wasn't impolite to anyone but Ino, and she didn't let her crush on Sasuke get in the way of her ninja studies like some of the girls in class. She'll have to work hard to catch up to and keep up with us clan members, but she's smart enough to. We'll see how she does under a Jonin-sensei. Maybe the Hokage has a reason for putting her with us - though if its for us to bring her up, I'll be disappointed.

Okay. Review done. Time to go meet them: can't let someone else have control of this group. I am the next clan head of the Hyuga Clan. I stand up, going to approach Shino-san first.

I walk up to the tallest boy in the class, nodding to him respectfully and extending my hand toward him... which I promptly realized still held a kunai. It looked like I wanted to stab him!

I flick it back into my voluminous sleeves, and my face tinges pink. Disgraceful! "Hello, Shino-san. So, we're to be team-mates? What do you know about Kurenai-sensei?"

Kiba was feeling conflicted. One one hand he was glad that he finally got to graduate, on the other hand he would have a lot less freedom. He couldn't skip this work with like he did in school where he went and did his own thing instead of attending classes.

Though it was not like anyone could say that he didn't spend his time unproductively out of school, actually they could.

He probably seemed lazy and stupid to other observers. He did have pretty low grades, not a suprising outcome when you skipped everything except the most important of tests. He guessed his double sleeping in class did not help the matters.

Was being seen in a negative light a bad thing. Kiba guessed a lot of people would say yes, but he still could not bring himself to care.

His thoughts wandered to his new teacher and teammates, he did not know who Torune Aburame was, but to be a Jonin and a teacher required a level of competence. His teammates consisted of a Yamanaka and a Hyuuga. He remembered the girl from previous times when he visited the clan with his family, but not the Hyuuga. That meant he probably was a branch family member, though it was best not to assume.

When the crazy snake lady came it was mildly entertaining, he wondered how much time she spent drawing her banner. He was pretty sure she was the one who did it, afterall it looked as if it had been drawn with crayons, or finger painting, it probably was. She and her team left soon after and the class was empty once more.

With nothing to do but wait he decided to observe the class until his teacher came. Heh, maybe he could even remember the names of his classmates if he observed hard enough.

Nope, he couldn't.

Just a little more and he'd be free. Slowly, bit by bit Shikamaru had been edging his chair forwards onto the pressure plate in order to escape the pranksters final trap. He was close, close enough to taste the freedom of not being covered in orange paint and napping somewhere else. Maybe next to Kiba. Sure the dog made him uneasy, but he was less likely to prank him...or attempt to stab him as others in his class had demonstrated. By remaining on his own, he had remained free of the louder members of the class, retaining at least a small quiet corner ripe to nap in. Just outside the light of the window but retaining the suns warmth. All in all, Kiba was the least troublesome option presented.

Or at least that was the plan. The door exploding inwards, hurtling back from its hinges as the busty harbinger brought the harsh truth of reality crashing down on his plan. Falling backwards in shock the chair tipped backwards with him, removing the weight from the pressure plate and activating the trap, transforming a quiet section of the room into a cloud of dispersed bright orange paint.

He stood motionless for a moment till his vision cleared. His body coated in orange he could only respond with one word.

"Troublesome"

Torune looked at the folder of students in his hand. A satisfactory team. All members of influential clans. Danzo-sama would like that, especially if he could twist them to favor Root's approach to... foreign relations, as well as secure the loyalty of the future leaders of the village. All in all, it was a good start to a very important mission. He would fulfill his mission, as was his purpose.

Now, what was it that his fellow sensei had informed him of? She had looked unreliable, but her advice was unknown to him, so she had proven herself helpful. Looking for a proper spot, he strengthened his limbs and shot forward, smashing through the wall with utmost speed. Startled cries come from the room of genin as he lands on a desk, and he looks around as he stands up.

"Greetings. I am Torune Aburame. Ino Yamanaka, Neji Hyuuga, and Kiba Inuzuka, please report to the Training Ground Four. That will be all." With that, he turned to leave. While there was a temptation to talk to Shino again after so long, he resisted, largely due to being there in an official capacity. Maybe he would stop by the Aburame compound. It had been a long time since he had seen his adopted family, after all.

He would have felt sympathy for the Nara heir, he really would, but he had other more pressing concerns.

The first pressing concern was indeed pressing, as in he somehow ended up under the wall he was leaning a moment ago, and it indeed was pressing as it tried to crush him to death.

Luckily Kiba was made out of hardier stuff and slowly got out of the rubble, dusting himself he left throughout the new door his new teacher had helpfully provided.

The second pressing concern was his new teacher, and it was indeed pressing.

I stand taking a small step back so that my height does not come off as Imposing as it could if we were nearly chest to chest.

"Hello Hinabi-san, Yes we are. Though I do not know anything about Kurenai-sensi"

This is to be one of the teamates that will be largely responsible for my life or death. Interesting.

I hold our my hand offering to shake it with hers, though I make sure it is quite in her field of vision that upon my hand is several crawling bugs, large dark beetles, slowly moving over and around the offered hand.

Deciding that his sanity and safety were compromised, Sasuke stood and slowly began walking towards the open door. He glances over at Shikamaru and then to Yakumo,

"Itachi will probably want us to meet on the roof. He likes that spot. Care to head on up there with me?"

He pauses for a response before walking out the door.

The newly minted genin looked rather aggravated, but perhaps that was just his nature. Or more likely, Kiba had been under the rubble of the wall that Torune destroyed. Ultimately, Torune decided, it didn't really matter.

Shikamaru thought over several responses. Though Sasuke didn't seem to care if he followed (a good sign for their future team dynamics) he was the sort to hold a grudge if he answered with something he disliked. Kinda like with Naruto and the "false ramen" incident had led to his current situation. Holding a grudge was such a drag and a waste of time. There were plenty of reasons that made sense to try to kill each other. Adding more just was too much effort.

As for heading to the roof, meeting the Sensei there would set up a bad precedent for initiative and foresight in planning. Raising expectations was something he hoped to avoid. Still, it was an opportunity to get outside the range of any traps the Uzumaki's had left behind and with the sun out, the roof was a prime napping spot. He'd stop off at the bathroom to wash the paint off first of course. Being late was hardly his fault when he had a reasonable excuse and would cut down on the time he'd have to spend awake and interacting with anyone who wanted him to remain conscious.

Checking over his shoulder to mark the location of the Kurama girl, he set off at a leisurely pace, thinking up ways to get Naruto back without it being linked to him. Hitting him in his ramen was unlikely to succeed. His suppliers were too loyal, but he still had that photo hidden away somewhere....

When he was expecting a Jonin Sensei, his new teacher wouldn't have been his first pick, nor the last but this was the hand he was dealt with and he would have to learn how to deal with it. Remembering some of the stories he heard of elite ninja he decided that this was actually pretty tame all things considered.

...and so as Kiba walked behind his new teacher he knew that his life was going to become interesting. it was not clear if it was the good kind or the bad kind of interesting but one thing was clear; that one fortune cookie turned out to be right.

Team assignments: Names Noted.

I hold our my hand offering to shake it with hers, though I make sure it is quite in her field of vision that upon my hand is several crawling bugs Large dark beetles, slowly moving over and around the offered hand.

Oh, come on! Why?

The beetles crawl over my hand, and I shiver in displeasure, but keep my hand in his, gripping it softly. "Shino-san, could you... keep your friends off me without my permission?"

I try to keep my tone from sounding either weak or demanding, but it was a strong wish... presumptive of him, and it demanded a strong response. Father says I have too much of my sister in me, but I have to get along with this kid for the next few weeks.

Ino sighed
And sighed again. What. An ABurame? Their sensei was going to be an Aburame?
And the ''their'' was going to be Neji and Kiba? To be honest, it could have been worse by far... but here went her hopes of ending up with Shikamaru, Choji, SAKURA or SASUKE.
Still, a certified genius and a rock-solid - if a bit lazy- guy like the Inazuka clanhead... workable as a team. Needed a distance fighter. A Genjutsu and Taijutsu person,And a Face, actually.

And there was the latest outrage of Naruto.
Sigh.
The Guy was a menace.Nice in a LOUD, garish way, undeniably talented and all... but STILL a grade A menace.
Who had just covered Shika in orange paint.

And put Kiba under lots of rubble.
Eyes rolling, she tried to come to Kibas aid , when-

- the dynamic entry of her sensei interrupted her.
there was something fishy, something forced about this bravado... like Torune-sensei was just going to the motions instead of enjoying the showing off... file that away for later, Ino.

Torune looked behind him to see the Inuzuka heir walking out of the hole he had made in the wall, dusting himself off. The newly minted genin looked rather aggravated, but perhaps that was just his nature. Or more likely, Kiba had been under the rubble of the wall that Torune destroyed. Ultimately, Torune decided, it didn't really matter.

"Ah, you're hardy. Good. That will be useful." And with that, Torune kept walking. If the Inuzuka could still walk, he could follow.
Meanwhile, Kiba climbed out- and either her sensei had a funny sense of humor or was a ...wait... It had not been Naruto.

Their SENSEI had done that.it had just coincided.

Okay, crazy.

Ino walked up to her teammate.
"Hey, Kiba.Guess we are in this together, Inazuka-san?"
A bright smile lit up her face

"Take a seat please Hanabi-san, once Sakura joins us I will explain"

Bugs line up on sakuras desk forming a few small arrows pointing to Shino and Hanabi, the beetles open and close there wings to give a flashing image to draw attention to shinos request that you join them.

"Explain, Shino-san?" I reply, my eyebrows furrowing. I watch the bugs march onto Sakura's desk, the pink haired kunoichi mooning after Sasuke who would now be forever outside her reach. Maybe, at some point, she would come back to reality.

I look back towards Shino, the tall boy towering over me as I sit. "I don't want you to think I don't respect the Aburame Clan jutsu," I say, forcing myself to be blunt, "I'd actually been thinking how our skills could compliment each other."

"Hello Ino, I guess we are."

He didn't tell her that he didn't know her name till their Sensei announced it, better if she never knew that, he heard that girls got cranky about things like that. Instead he decided to ask her a question.

"Any idea who our sensei is, never heard of him before."

Yakumo had been content to simply stay in the back of the room, waiting for their sensei to arrive. Unfortunately, quiet was not a thing that would be happening today it seemed, as orange paint splashed the room and generally made a mess.

Idly, she was tempted to return the favor, but nothing good came of letting pranks escalate by antagonizing the originator. Besides, she was fairly sure that those were her team-mates to be ducking out the door before another round of traps and pranks decorated the room. One coating of orange paint was quite enough, thank you.

Standing and taking the door to remain with her team, Yakumo gave the room a last glance. It was unlikely that she would be seeing it again for a while.

Sasuke Uchiha
Hallway
14:01

The Uchiha noticed the Nara dip into the restroom to clean up and decided to wait in the hall for the other boy. His mother had taught him manners after all.

He focused on the wall in front of him for several moment before his dark gaze was drawn to the female exiting the room. He took note of her brown hair and intelligent eyes, a cursorily analytical glance of the girl would reveal little he didn't already know, and so tilted his head towards her with a small smile on his lips. Despite the emotional turmoil within him, he heard his father's voice whispering,

"Prioritize. Emotions are valuable tools for a Shinobi whether they are your own or another's, but you must prioritize and control them."

Itachi could wait.

This girl and Shikamaru could be responsible for saving his life one day. The young Uchiha would speak in a voice just beginning to deepen,

"Hello, Yakumo Kurama right? Sorry we've never really interacted much in class. I'm Sasuke Uchiha. Our other teammate,Shikamaru is getting cleaned off right now." (@Logos)

Sakura was... not sure what to make of Hokage-sama's speech. It was a grim reminder that being a ninja carries the risk of death, yet it was also a reminder that being a ninja means being able to fight for her loved ones. It was more sobering than inspiring...

When the team announcements were made, she realized that she would be teamed up with Hanabi-san and Shino-san. It would have been nice to be teammates with Sasuke-san... but it's all right, she guessed. The Hyuuga seems to be okay, and is definitely not someone to mess with in taijutsu. As for the Aburame, he seems to be the smart and quiet type. The bugs around him tend to be... creepy... but he's her teammate now. Might as well get used to it. Besides, the bugs may be helpful allies too.

Later, she sees bugs lined up on her desk, as if they are making a sign. They form flashing arrows, prompting her to look at where they are pointing at, which turn out to be her new teammates. Maybe they have things to talk about?

She proceeds to join them, taking a seat with them.

"Yes?"

"Hello Sakura-San"

I offer the same hand to her to shake, covered in a few large dark beetles crawling over and into my hands. Looking to see her reaction watching carefully behind the thick shades.

"Hanabi-San,Sakura-San, My wish is, that as a team both of you both grow completely comfortable with my bugs."
I take a kunai and give myself a shallow cut to my palm. Several of the beetles come forward and press the wound shut with gentle bites.

"My bugs, can close wounds, they can gather to adsorb an attack for you, they can let me attack from where you are, they can let me find you if you are lost and being chased by enemy ninja. They may be the difference between life and death. They are also an extension of myself so a rejection of them, is a rejection of me"

I bow formally

"Please try to embrace them for the value they provide"
