Kaliton: Office Hunt
[X] One in the office of a high-ranking individual.

"Either a secure part of the building or the office of a high-ranking individual," you answer Mum, "One of those should suffice and will have the best chance of containing the information even if they are going to be harder to reach."

"We will go for the latter," says Mum, "Do you know where we are going?"

"The local executive's office is on the fourth floor," you tell her, "I looked it up whilst we were scouting about for info. Some guy called Viado Tokani, a human coreworlder."

"Then we make our way to the elevator," says Mum, "Follow me."

And so you do. It feels odd running though the corridors of the local Czerka Corp headquarters as despite everything that is going on right now, the building isn't a military base. The majority of the people you encounter are just civilians working here and they cower as you and Mum run by. Fortunately for them, you and Mum have no interest in them.

The first bit of excitement is when you run across a group of four Czerka security guards as they come running down the corridor in the opposite direction.

"It's them!" shouts the one in the lead, "Blast them!"

And so they do or at least they try. Unfortunately for you, it is a bit more than try when it comes to you. You attempt to deflect the blaster bolts with your lightsaber, but while one misses, another strikes you in the side. You wince in pain as it hurts a lot, but it doesn't leave you incapacitated and you charge the Czerka guards with Mum.

You cut down one with a swing of your lightsaber in the same time it takes Mum to dispatch the other three. Glancing at your injury, Mum uses the Force to heal her injury and leaves you wishing that you were skilled enough to learn Force Heal yourself. You can think of a few times now where it would have come in handy. Very in handy.

"Are you okay?" asks Mum even though she has already healed you.

"As much as I am going to be," you reply, "You did just take care of it."

"Then we should continue," says Mum and two of you begin moving again.

The next bit of trouble is some security at the elevator though it might not really count as trouble given how easily Mum takes care of it. A pair of war droids stand guard alongside a couple of security turrets and even as you prepare for a fight, Mum just strikes out with the Force. Both the war droids and the blaster turrets explode as Mum overwhelms with the Force, leaving the elevator unguarded and free for the taking.

"Luka," says Mum as she stops in front of the elevator, "Can you open this elevator working for us?"

"Sure," you reply as you push a couple of buttons at the control panel, "It isn't locked. We can use it just like anyone else."

"Good," says Mum as the elevator doors open up.

The trip up to the fourth floor is uneventful and so is the fourth floor, at least initially it is. That situation quickly changes as you and Mum come across a guarded office after making your way through a couple of undefended corridors. Two alert Czerka security guards with blaster rifles stand guard and as soon as they spot your lightsabers, they open fire.

While it becomes apparent that these two guards are more skilled than their fellows, you hold your own. With one of them shooting at each of you, you deflect the blaster bolt fired at you back into the man's shoulder. He winces, but doesn't drop his blaster as he tries to line up a second shot so you move in. A single swing of your lightsaber and the man is down permanently.

A glance to the side tells you that Mum has dealt with her opponent so you take a look at the sign outside the office.

"Viado Tokani, Kaliton Executive Officer," you read out loud, "Looks like this is the place."

"There is someone inside," says Mum and you too can sense someone on the other side of the door, "Afraid, but they lack the willing to fight us."

"After you," you tell Mum, "The door is unlocked."

You follow Mum into the office, where a well-groomed, middle-aged man is cowering behind his desk.

"Executive Tokani," says Mum, "You are going to help us."

"You don't scare me," hisses the man even as he grips the chair he is hiding behind with both hands and you can feel the fear radiating off of him through the Force, "You're Jedi. You won't cut me down in cold blood."

"If you help us, you could get some leniency from the Republic," you say, trying a different track with the man.

"Hah!" barks Tokani, "We have hundreds of security assets on this world and we have taken over the local HoloNet. You will get overwhelmed sooner or later and I know that you didn't get any calls out for help before we stopped it being possible."

"You will give us access to your computer," you tell the man, waving your hand as you attempt a Jedi Mind Trick on Tokani.

"What? No, I will not," replies Tokani as he stares at you.

"He isn't going to be helpful," says Mum as she tosses him away from the desk with the Force, "Luka, access his computer."

"On it," you say as you dart around to the other side of the desk.

Oh wow, the idiot didn't lock his computer or log off. It turns out that you don't need Tokani's help because his full admin access is already entered into the system. Sucks for him, but all the better for you.

You already found most of what you were looking for so you just go looking for the things you couldn't find last time. With full access to the system, it doesn't take long for you to located the two missing sets of files and when you do, it swiftly becomes apparent why Czerka Corp wanted to keep them hidden.

The first set is that Czerka Corp has been operating a few of the larger mines on Kaliton with slave labour and it turns out that is why they had so many secret war droids. While the administrators of the mines were living sentients, the Czerka leadership didn't trust people to guard the slave miners and instead has been relying upon their war droids to provide security.

The other group of records is possibly worse. It seems that since taking over the local spaceport, Czerka Corp has been using it to engage in illegal dealings with organised crime groups. They've been primarily dealing with the Exchange, but a few records indicate that the odd Sith group has come by for the occasional batch of kyber crystals that have been dug up on Kaliton. Given just how detailed it is, it is enough to convict the whole local Czerka Corp leadership for this sector and probably some more as well.

Oh and there are twenty thousand credits free for the taking. The legalities of taking them for yourself are dubious, but Czerka is a bunch of slavers so who cares? You certainly don't as you transfer the credits to your bank account.

"Got the evidence," you tell Mum, "We have enough to deal a major blow to Czerka Corp."

"Your father will be pleased," says Mum, "He always loves an excuse to set the military on Czerka's assets. Now, we just have to hold out until Republic reinforcements show up."

Things were mixed bunch this turn. Luka got injured, but Bastila was able to heal it up and while you failed to get the local Czerka boss to help out, you got lucky as he left his access unsecure and free for you to use.

Given the situation, I feel it is going to be pretty boring to just keep with Luka's point of view so I am going to switch to someone else until the current situation wraps up. Which brings us to the vote. I have a couple of default options, but feel free to make suggestions for other possibilities.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.

Ah slavery. The ultimate pointless display of puppy-kicking evil in a galaxy with cheap, widely available, and high quality automated labor.

[X] Kira on the Red Banner.
Republic is tempting but in the absence of another named character I'd rather develop Kira some more.

Kaliton: With Kira
[X] Kira on the Red Banner.

You are Kira and you have mixed feelings as you fire the Red Banner's laser cannons as the hangar gateway again. It has been some time since you accidentally blew them open whilst you were trying to get some Czerka guards.

Things have been going well or at least as well as things can get when the enemy has successfully taken over the planet. Your very nervous call to the Republic military went though fine since apparently you and the Red Banner were in the databanks of the Republic military and even without the datafiles that Luka dug up, what you had to say was enough to warrant a response.

So now you got to wait for Hammerhead-class cruiser to show up with some starfighter support. The nice captain on the other end of the line said it should take your backup an hour to arrive and that was almost ten minutes ago. Czerka has been attempting to forcible seize the Red Banner for the last five, but you've been stopping them.

The security turrets were the first thing that you blasted and since then, you been shooting anybody who tries to enter the docking bay. Which has been nine or maybe ten guys so far. The hangar gate exploding kept you from seeing if you got one or two people with that shot.

Now that you have mixed feelings about. It is far from the first time that you have taken another being's life, something which you had to do a few times in your escape to freedom. You didn't like it back then, but it was necessary and while you suppose the same logic applies now, you still don't like it.

As you stare the remains of the hangar entrance for more Czerka forces trying to force their way in, the communication panel begins to beep and blink. Without taking your eyes away from the enemy's main method of approach, you push a button.

"Kira of the Red Banner here," you say.

"Kira?" says the voice of Luka Shan and your heart leaps at hearing her voice again.

It isn't appropriate, but you find yourself longing for her company and presence. You came to enjoy being with Luka after the Jedi girl helped you free all of your fellow slaves on the Azrue Tiger. Or 'fellow' slaves because you aren't a slave anymore, but she certainly saved everyone on the ship even if the other Jedi did most of the work. Well, everyone who deserved saving got saved.

Then she was so nice and pleasant to be with on the trip to Lantillies and then you had dinner with her aunt together and you got a job. A real job that wasn't criminal and illegal for respectable people. Jedi in fact and if your understanding is correct, Bastila and her husband are very important Jedi. Which makes Luka important and means that she and Bastila are even nicer for spending time with someone as lowly as yourself.

"I am here," you reply instantly, "What do you need?"

"Nothing right now," says Luka, "We got the evidence. Czerka Corp has been using slave labour in a few of their mines here on Kaliton and we got enough evidence of their criminal deeds that we might be able to hit half of their upper leadership."

"Wait, they are slavers?" you demand, your happiness to be speaking with Luka torn with the idea of there being slavers here on Kaliton.

"Yes," confirms Luka and that clears up your mixed feeling about blasting all of these slaving scum, "But don't worry, we've going to rescue them once reinforcements arrived. Until then we just need to stay alive and speaking of that, do you need any help?"

"I have things handled here," you tell Luka, "I've taken out the turrets and I'm blasting anyone who tries to enter the hangar. Don't worry, nothing can get past the Red Banner's deflector shields and I am not letting anyone in."

You won't let Luka down.

"Neither Czerka Corp or the locals should have anything capable of hurting the Red Banner," says Luka, "Not without having plenty of prep time and getting close. Or maybe that 'and' is an 'or'."

"You can count on me," you assure Luka.

"I know," replies Luka and that puts a big grin on your face, "Do you mind if Master Shan and I make your way back to the ship or do you want us to split Czerka's attention?"

How does Kira reply?
[] She would like Luka and Bastila to make their way back to the Red Banner.

Things are relatively quiet on the Red Banner as Czerka Corp hasn't been able to bring up anything capable of hurting the ship's shield while Kira has been blasting away at anyone without a lightsaber who shows their face.

It won't be long before I switch back to Luka's perspective. Two or three at most before Republic reinforcements show up.

Kaliton: Divide and Conquer
[X] She would like Luka and Bastila to keep Czerka Corp distracted between two different locations.

"You should probably stay away," you reply even if you would like to see Luka again, "Keeping Czerka distracted between the two of us should keep them occupied until backup arrives right?"

"They'll focus on me and Master Shan most likely," says Luka, "We're the Jedi and we just hit their headquarters and bosses. No offensive Kira, but they won't consider you an immediate threat compared to us so long as you don't take off. Czerka figure they will have time to deal with you at their leisure once they have taken care of us and solidified their control over Kaliton or at least Crystal City."

"That makes sense," you agree, "Please try to keep safe. I don't want anything bad to happen to do you."

"Don't worry Kira," replies Luka, "We're Jedi and Master Shan is, well, herself. One of the greatest soldiers in the galaxy."

"Ah, that is good," you say as you try to remember what you know of Bastila Shan beyond her being a capable and important Jedi who is now your new boss, "Talk to you later?"

"Of course," says Luka, "May the Force be with you."

"And with you," you try to reply, but Luka ends the call just as you start thanks to your stupid hesitation as you tried to figure out how to respond to that.

Stupid Kira. You've been free for a year and you still make stupid mistakes.

At least you can fix one of those while you wait out this siege of the Red Banner. Making sure to keep an eye on the sensors in case Czerka makes another move on the ship, you begin to call up some records on Bastila Shan because it has become apparent that your knowledge on your employer is lacking.

Oh, that is very oh. Bastila Shan is a famous Jedi Master and Republic war hero who has earnt the Cross of Glory, the most important Republic medal, twice. Once when she helped defeat Darth Malak at the final battle of the Second Sith War twenty years ago and then again five years later when she helped defeat Darth Nihlus in the Third Sith War.

That and she is married to Revan, who apart from being Luka's father and an important Jedi Master who is rich enough to casually buy a high quality starship, is the kriffing Supreme Commander of the Galactic Republic and the most powerful sentient in the galaxy if you ask the right people.

He is also the person who you work for as the head of the Shan family. Which is somewhat terrifying since barely a year ago, you were just a slave girl. You aren't sure how you went from going to be gifted from Mistress Anisha to her sleemo of a son as his new plaything to being directly employed to the galaxy's most powerful sentient, but it happened.

If only you knew how it-oh, Czerka is trying to storm the gates again. You take a couple of moments to blast the kriffing slavers a few times before they realise how futile it is to try and take the Red Banner by force.

So Bastila and Revan are some very important people and as their daughter, Luka must be a very important person. Which makes it all the more impressive and kind that someone like her had the time to listen to someone like you, let alone taking the time to help you out.

Which is so sweet of her. She is such a wonderful person and you are so glad that you will be able to spend more time with her.

You wonder if she will be able to help you find your family. You have spent the last year trying to find a clue of where your parents or siblings ended up, but as a smuggler and former slave who had to avoid unwanted attention from certain parties, it proved very hard. Perhaps impossible might be a more accurate word, but you never wanted to admit that to yourself.

But now you got the likes of Luka and Bastila to help you out. They are Jedi and maybe their magical Force powers might be enough to help you find what happened to your family. If they have the time for it of course. They are important Jedi with important Jedi or Republic business. They might have time to go looking for the kin of a very insignificant and unimportant person like you, but you doubt it. They will almost certainly be polite about it if you ask, but you have zero doubts about them not having time to waste on your personal affairs.

Yet a girl can dream and maybe if you spend enough time with Luka and her mother, you might pick up the skills and connections to succeed in your quest on your own.

Pick a more important/interesting point to skip to.
[] The arrival of Republic reinforcements.
[] Luka's return to the Red Banner.
[] The main battle with the Czerka Corporation forces.

I realised after the vote that not much of note was going to happen in this update as a result of the winning vote. So while Luka is running about Crystal City with Bastila, Kira gets some time to learn more about her new employers and reflect on how she got here in life and how she is going to handle things going forward.

Having handled some of Kira's past and shown some of her internal thoughts, I'm going to timeskip to a more interesting point in the current crisis where we will cover Kira's perspective on that event before switching back to Luka's point of view.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.
