Adrian not being ideologically pure is a plus not a minus provided he isn't a lunatic of some stripe. Of the big flaws of socislit movments RL is the demand for Ideological purity. groups that are consumed by this flaw will start killing each other over disagreements

I mean, an obsession with purity is never good but if you simply decide that everyone can be a socialist as long as they consider themselves socialists then problems, such as JKR and her "opinion" (if it can even be called that) on trans rights, start becoming a serious problem for the coherency of the movement. A well stablished ideology has an easier time of absorving disagreements but downtime socialism is not a well stablished ideology so a disagreement might cause an schism thus killing our momentum.

There are limits to how far you can go in avoiding purity delusion but keep in mind RL it's been shown again and again a socialist's worst enemy is another socialist because of no true Scotsman type issues and Idelogical purity demands.
